Games you are looking forward to.
I was under the impression that all the GTA games were ported over to the PC with a good deal of success. Why would RDR break from that?

STEAM!
This isn't really a DRM issue. Steam was selling more product than they actually had on hand. The problem is they collected your money, then released they did not have the product, and then had to go get it from the publisher. I understand this is all a bit different in a digital medium, but Steam still has to pay for every unit of a game that they sell.

The funny things thread
Why is it signed Katherine Cheng? What are you? IIRC it's not Hurlshot that draws but his students so... yeah, he's a corrupt teacher who uses his students for his own profit. Yep, the art is done by my students. I just storyboard the ideas for them. I only have about two weeks left of student comics though, so I'll be illustrating a few myself after that.

What you did today
I would say Big Sur is a must see. After that is probably Alcatraz.

Where do I go for a refund?
I'm playing pistols and melee. It's going quite well.

Movies you have seen recently
I just watched Daybreakers as well and agree with Monte's review. I really liked that vamps who starve or eat other vamps turn into these feral bat nosferatu looking things. My wife called it a B-movie with good production values. I don't disagree with that either.

I live a bit further south of that red circle, but I drive to Cupertino for work.

The official E3 2010 thread of waggle
SW:TOR won't have any trouble selling millions of copies at release. If less popular IP's like Age of Conan and Warhammer can have a huge releases, then a Star Wars property by a popular developer is a very easy bet. The struggle of MMO's is to maintain the numbers from the first few months. Almost every MMO released has had a precipitous drop in subscribers after the first couple months. That is what separates WoW from everyone else, it grew stronger over time and has still maintained a very high subscription rate.

The official E3 2010 thread of waggle
While I would say that it is definitely in development, it is still probably about two years away from any announcements, and likely a good 3-4 years before any type of release.

What are you playing now
Been considering it. Question: does the Steam program itself cost anything per month or are you only charged when you actually buy a game, like iTunes? And you can redownload the games as much as you want on as many computers as you want. There are even a bunch of games that you can buy for both the mac and the PC. You pay one price for both versions. So if you have a PC at your parents, you can have the game there and on your macbook.

Final Fantasy should do well, it is an established MMO. It looks pretty good, I'll probably even give it a try.

What you did today
You know, with all the pictures you've posted, I've always wondered where you lived. Seems really nice. That would be the Northern California Bay Area for you. There is just a ton to see, an amazing variety of locales. I believe LadyCrimson lives somewhere near Marin (although I might be wrong) which is a wonderful area just across the Golden Gate Bridge. I take my family out there about once a year, and we ride the ferry across to San Francisco city. From there we can visit Alcatraz, Angel Island, Fisherman's Wharf...we somehow manage to discover something new every time we go.

2010 FIFA World Cup
Nice comeback by the US, still a bit of time to play.

What are you playing now
You are totally going to need something in college. It's almost as important as books. I took my N64 to college, and in the dorms we had huge Goldeneye competitions on the communal TV.

New XCOM game
The Terror missions is TFTD were way tough. Total battle of attrition, I used to get below decks after losing half my squad and just barely eke out a win.

NHL
I could understand it if he got more than two prospects. Maybe one of them is supposed to be great. Definitely an odd choice.

A sad announcement
Don't think werewolves would be canon for the Fallout universe. That made me smile. Perhaps they can add a quest giver named Killian who sends you into an impossible to win situation against a large wolf.

What you did today
We brought Logan home yesterday. He's still a bit yellowish and we need to keep getting tests, but it is a huge relief to have him at home and not spend 14 hours at the hospital every day. My 3-year old daughter ranges from being a total sweetheart to a total monster right now, but she is pretty excited to see him.

Congratulations Gfted1
He wasn't a mod already? A great choice, congrats!

STEAM!
I will say that the most recent overhaul of Steam has made a huge difference for me and my slow connection. It is way more stable and runs a lot smoother than before.

A sad announcement
I really loved Hades/Killian/Michael, he was a great guy. He was down to earth and quirky. I know I disagreed with him a few times, but he always kept it from getting too serious with a quick line of levity and humbleness. I hope he finds peace. I also really hope this is just an ugly joke, because the forums will be a good deal more empty without his presence.

Ego boost for today
After reading about Killian, I decided to edit this and not argue with Volourn for the time being. I'm very sad about the loss of a friend and fellow Obsidianite, and it just makes Volourn's argumentative posts even more disheartening. Life is short, no need to waste it not being friendly.

Ego boost for today
I'm not sure why they would lie about a confession. The defense isn't saying there is no confession, they are saying it is inadmissible in court. The guy doesn't really have a stellar track record, but feel free to jump in his corner and be weird.

Ego boost for today
Authorities in Peru say he confessed to killing Stephany Flores there, AFAIK. His attorneys are now trying to dispute the confession. Hard to imagine this guy not being guilty as sin.
