  1. Sometimes the humor strikes a bit too close to home. Watching AP Bio does that for me.
  2. Jeff Bezos is looking for new hires at Amazon?
  3. Memento seems like his most fun movie. I probably should re-watch The Prestige. The 5th Element is a good choice, Sarex. I re-watch that one all the time. I actually tried to rewatch a Chris Tucker movie recently, the buddy cop flick he did with Jackie Chan. It didn't age well.
  4. I had to google a few of KP's. Dang kids and their obscure tastes. Is Stray Dog this?
  5. Tarantino would dominate my list if it was movie soundtracks. But I tend to prefer my violence with a bit more silliness than him.
  6. I almost put Casino in my top ten list, which is a notch above Goodfellas for me because I've eaten at the same booth Deniro and the crew sat at in the movie. I was surprised I didn't have and Tarantino films in my list. Also we were pretty close with Evil Dead 2.
  7. Monty Python could probably squeak onto my list depending on the day, so that is our Breakfast at Tiffany's moment. Lord of the Rings is also a close one, but it is soooo long. I tried to fill my list with movies I enjoy rewatching regularly, and the LotR films are great, but they take forever. Same reason Godfather didn't make my list. You have a lot of serious movies on here. Parasite stressed my out. So did Rosemary's Baby. So did The Thing and Downfall. I watched 12 Angry Men for a film class and wrote an essay on it, so it also stresses me out. Heathers is a stressful version of a John Hughes movie. 12 Monkeys was quirky. I probably need to rewatch it sometime. The Florida Project is not one I've seen, but I think it will not be one we see eye to eye on. Army of Darkness is my most entrenched on my top list. It is firmly in 1st place there. You should watch it, but you will most likely hate it.
  8. Hmm, that is an interesting challenge. Here are my top 10 movies, so you can avoid them: 1. Army of Darkness 2. The Goonies 3. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 4. Back to the Future 5. Star Wars: A New Hope 6. Elf 7. The Black Cauldron 8. Office Space 9. Die Hard 10. The Hangover Honestly though, I like most movies. I'm a pretty easy audience to please. I suppose I like action comedy more than most though.
  9. I didn't want to like it. I went in saying there is no way they can pull off Robin Williams. He is too unique. But by the end of the clip I was just happy to have a few minutes dedicated to remembering Robin Williams and his magic.
  10. Wow, can't believe the Rays are out. Giants look good. I'm stressed!
  11. They are swimming in that river for the Ironman race next weekend... I might do it next year.
  12. Playoff time! I am super stoked to watch my Giants play the Dodgers for the first time of postseason history. What a race to the end. Posey just hit a splash hit to start the series off with a bang.
  13. To be fair, if I was married to Milla Jovovich, I would also be happy just making movies that show off her butt.
  14. You need to believe in your junk.
  15. I appreciate how different each of the weapons feel in New World. It has made it hard to settle on one. The hatchet, the spear, and the rapier are all super fun.
  16. I just think you gotta lean into this stuff, but also think critically about the content being pushed your way. I constantly get ads for bicycles now. It's cool, I love looking at them. I also get a ton of pro-hydrogen news stories. I recognize my feed is completely biased in that respect. I am not going to rush out and invest all my money in hydrogen fuel cells.
  17. I went and saw Venom 2 in theaters. I haven't really done much theater going over the years, and usually it is our rather small local theater. But we were up in the city for a couple hours on a Saturday night, and I figured a movie was a good time killer. The tickets were twice what I remember, $16 each. But the seats reclined and were heated, so that was nice. Venom 2 was great when it was Tom Hardy and the symbiote. Their dynamic is a ton of fun. Woody Harrelson was the villain, but honestly his role in the whole thing was pretty boring. It was worth a watch.
  18. Looks like they need a new internet box.
  19. Sorry Shady. We were in the NICU for about a week with our son, and it is a terrible sort of holding pattern on life. But it is amazing what they are able to do in hospitals today, and it sounds like he is on the right trajectory.
  20. I know I poked fun at the Wisconsin winter, but if you do get to the next stage, I'd say it is a pretty easy call that you need to go to her. She has family. As amazing as your property is and I've loved hearing about your work on it over the years, it is still just property. You can rebuild. Just my 2 cents. I followed my wife back to her home and I know it was the right choice for me.
  21. You are probably being facetious, but it does remind me that when my wife taught in an inner city high school for years, before winter and summer breaks a number of the kids would act out. Their thinking was that if they get sent to juvenile hall for a couple weeks, they will get to eat during the breaks. The pandemic has intensified food insecurity across the US as well.
  22. The free lunch system is soooo much better. No more 1st graders racking up student debt because their parents didn't pay, no more worries about theft in the lunch line. I don't really understand why we ever charged in the first place. What was the argument? Socialism? That cat is already out of the bag. Oh no, these free schools have been ruining kids since the 19th century.
  23. Yeah, I do not understand how we don't have a comprehensive database tracking police use of force. We track so many other things, but the idea of actual data driven policing is for some reason taboo.
