Both my wife and son tested positive, so I am the last man standing in my household. They are both recovering pretty well, but going stir crazy. My daughter is fully recovered and thankfully has helped me all week with dinner and other chores. I feel great. I am a bit stiff from sleeping on the couch, but I have been keeping up withy training. I have a 10 mile running race in a week, so fingers crossed I stay that way.

Also, reading more into Meatloaf, it is pretty disheartening to hear it was covid and probably avoidable. He was quoted as saying "If I die, I die, but I'm not going to be controlled." What the bat out of hell does that mean? He wasn't a healthy guy, I'm guessing, but he could have had a lot more time. Crazy how many people are paying the ultimate price.

My household is dealing with it as well. My daughter tested positive over a week ago. She had actually just had the booster, so at first we thought her not feeling well was just a reaction, but we took a test to be safe and she was positive. After a week of staying home and quarantining, she tested negative and was feeling a lot better. It was mostly low grade fever and congestion, although she was nauseous on day 1. The whole household has been testing regularly, and this weekend my wife tested positive. So now my daughter is recovered, my wife is quarantined, I am sleeping on the couch, and my son is complaining about a scratchy throat... My wife's symptoms are minor as well. We are all vaccinated and recently boosted, so that seems to be helping. Other than some hypochondria, I'm feeling great. I ran a solid 10k yesterday. I am supposed to keep reporting to work unless I test negative or have symptoms.- ranDom vIdeO game news

The simple memorization is still an option (unless you have a bad math teacher.) But the focus is on developing complex critical thinking skills that can apply to a wide spectrum of problems instead of just memorizing 9x8=72. I do the same thing in Social Science. I don't care if you can memorize names and dates. I want you to be able to recognize trends and analyze cause and effect. I mean we all have calculators and phones with the entirety of human knowledge in our possession. We don't need to be able to remember basic trivia, we need to be able to think critically. But I digress. edit: I'm also only referring to elementary level math. I have no idea what is happening at the High School level.- ranDom vIdeO game news

I enjoyed it too. My hope is that they return to it down the road. It will probably be a smaller project overall. The tough part is we need Avowed to be successful to keep the IP viable, but if it is too successful, they will probably never go back to isometric. That's what happened to Warcraft.- The Cinema and Movie Thread
Shang-Chi featured San Francisco, so I dug it. Also Awkwafina is a fantastic sidekick. Also Karaoke. Also Sir Ben Kingsley. It was more enjoyable than the Eternals for me, which took like 3 sittings to finish. It was probably a bit more serious than I would have liked. Also it bothered me that they were living with the Aztec, and some of them were all upset when the city of Tenochtitlan erupted in violence with conquistadors besieging the Aztec (when the reality was there were many other tribes fighting alongside the Spanish.) The Aztec sacrificed tens of thousands of people on a yearly basis, so it seemed strange to hone in on this specific moment as the worst of humanity. But hey, I nitpick. I liked the gardens of Babylon.- The All Things Political Topic - Those who do not move, do not notice their chains
