  1. So both KP and Longknife would rather me lobby for censorship than decorum? This is why it is hard to take this movement seriously.
  2. It's super weird that you are asking me to try and get the thread closed. It has been actively censored, one iteration was even closed down. Why would you push for that? Are you pro-censorship?
  3. I thought I was doing that when I read you guys the Dr. Suess book?
  4. If you have an issue with the thread, why not take it up with the moderators? I don't see how posting here is supposed to remedy the situation. The best you can do is take it up with the mods and, whether they agree or disagree with you, accept the response. Why would you suggest that? Appealing to an authority to censor others would seem completely contrary to your whole platform. I would rather just ask you (and others) to tone down the vitriol for the sake of the community. But hey, maybe the community has changed and I'm just a leftover from a different time.
  5. There is irony in someone who is pro ignoring what he deems dumb having a problem with people for not ignoring other dumb bs. Follow your own advice. I have been an active member here for over a decade, pardon me if I don't just walk away from the community because of dumb bs. I've ignored a few iterations of this thread, but it doesn't seem like a good strategy. It reflects badly on all of us. This is absurd. These people have every right to discuss this topic, which is well within the boundaries of forum rules, just like you have every right to discuss things you find important. You could, for example, make a Firearms thread and periodically start it up again once it hit it's limit. Would someone be right to claim the pro-firearms thread needs to be shut down because it reflects poorly on all of us? No, that's unfair. If you don't wanna be associated with it, don't associate yourself with it. If you are incapable of tolerating a thread's existence in a forum you visit, that's blatantly being a drama queen and blatantly demanding all portions of a forum adhere to what you like to a certain degree, all in a belief that being a member here for 10+ years is somehow relevant and affords you some sort of superior say on the matter. No, that's not how it works. We have a firearms thread, it is delightful. People talk about guns. They aren't consistently putting up inappropriate cartoons, images, and making fun of the tweets of people who don't spend any time here. This thread has veered over the boundaries of the forum rules plenty of times. The very nature of this thread seems to revolve around being mean and shouting down people that disagree with you. It bleeds into other threads too, Monte Carlo's hilarious troll story lasted about 5 posts before it turned dumb. I would like to see this forum be a less negative place. I guess that makes me a drama queen.

  7. Good. Mocking them with humor is how you show how powerless they are. Keep at it. I'm pretty sure ignoring them would be more effective. 200 pages of it on a game developer's forum seems a bit much. I would actually never come across any of these people if it weren't for these posts, so that would speak to the opposite effect. The more you spread this garbage around, the more power you give them.
  8. And the circle jerk continues.
  9. The free move in Xcom by the aliens is lame, but the game would be super easy without it. They are always grouped up when you come across them, so imagine how easy it would be to take them down with grenades. You wouldn't even need guns! It's basically a design issue.
  10. If this thread is an example of GG, then I would point to it. It is filled with vitriol and derision towards random people that seem to live on Twitter. Many of these twitter residents are clearly unstable, and yet they are continually mocked and laughed at. It can't seem to stay focused on actual ethics in game journalism, but instead constantly drifts towards crass humor about feminism and patriarchy. A few pages ago someone posted a twitter comment from some non-celebrity about rape, and we got a page full of rape humor. All of this might be more fitting for this forum if we actually had any SJW's running around in WOT. But we don't. So instead it just turns into a big circle jerk. They use Bruce as a target, but he's not really a SJW. Quacking like a duck does not make you a duck. What censorship movement is he even involved in? He doesn't even report posts here, he raves about GTA and defends strip clubs. Get a clue, he is just playing devil's advocate.
  11. Every time I hear the whole 'she's not a gamer!' argument, it reminds me of the Obama birther movement.
  12. Daredevil is seriously dark. I like it. I can't think of anything else Marvel has done like this. Even Punisher comes across as more campy than dark. I don't know how I'll ever watch Arrow again. I've always struggled to get through the CW teen drama moments that they put in, and now that I've seen how good a superhero show can be without it, I can't go back.
  13. Heh, it all started with comparing Star Wars to Blade.
  14. Yes, I must be gay because I called Ryan Reynolds and Gosling handsome. Maybe I'm just not the kind of person that needs to find negativity and fault in most things I come across. I prefer to just enjoy stuff.
  15. First Ryan Reynolds and now Ryan Gosling? You guys seem to have something against handsome guys who can act. Sure, one is more of a comedic actor while the other is dramatic, but they are both amazing. If Bladerunner sucks, it will have nothing to do with the performance of Gosling.
  16. Interceptors is pretty awesome. This is actually my team's hockey jersey: I am Greedo.
  17. It is a bonus xp weekend for TOR, so I think I will push my jedi knight through a few levels.
  18. I have no idea how to help you, but I have a macbook and the game works fine. edit: You might want to give more details.
  19. Seriously, why aren't we complaining about actual functionality issues like the quote system? The edit mark is just a silly little vanity issue.
  20. Take it back!
  21. The Warriors are just coming out of a 20 year funk, so the fans deserve to bask a bit in being a homer and having the best record in the league.
  22. I said he was an unreal shooter, not the greatest in history (me and Leferd aren't the same person, although Leferd is mostly using hyperbole to counter Volo's silliness ). But strictly in terms of 3 pointers, he is well on his way to being the best all time. His 44% is tied for 2nd all-time, but all the guys around him made considerably less 3's. He has made over 1100, Steve Kerr and the other guy near him are both around 700. So if he continues, heck even if he drops a couple percentage points, he's going to have way more than Ray Allen at one of the best percentages in league history. I agree with you on the championship thing though. The Warriors need to win it all. Anything else will be a let down. We should have a bet with Volo if the Cavs and the Warriors go head to head.
  23. His 3 point shooting percentage is in the top 3, and considering he throws up more of those than anyone in league history, that's the more telling stat. But honestly, he's the best shooter in the game right now, but he needs to do it for another 5-10 years to reach hall of fame numbers. He actually only needs 6 years at his current pace to eclipse Ray Allen, and he's shooting at a 44% clip compared to Allen's 40% one. This is all cool stuff, but it isn't why he is MVP. He's MVP because he's learned to be a top assist man and play solid defense along with his great scoring. He has gotten better every year he has been in the league, and now he is a dominant force on the best team. Also if you want to talk about bias, James Harden has a much better argument on being overlooked. He's put up a huge season in a tough conference, and his team is not that strong.
  24. I'm pretty sure episode 1 already covered Val's worst fears, so I'm not too worried about this one.
