    Laying it on a bit thick, don't you think? Any douchebag can be responsible for this. Considering people get swatted for winning online games nowadays, I'd hardly compare this to the civil rights movement.

    The speech is from a rather long one at a domestic violence conference in 1998. The use of the word primary is sloppy, and I doubt you will catch her saying something like that in her current campaign.

    And they aren't, as the Supreme Court decided in Tennessee vs. Garner back in 1985. However it gets a bit more complex than that when someone is in a wrestling match with a cop.

    They deserve some ridicule, for sure. But they dropped the ad campaign when it was pointed out how ridiculous it sounds. Now you have people raging about them dropping it. People gonna rage, I guess.

    It was less about the #upforwhatever and more about the changing no to something else. Given that 'no means no' has been the tagline of date rape prevention since forever, it isn't hard to see that as a bad choice of words.

    That pretty much comes with the territory in teaching though. You are a public figure, albeit on a very local level. You are expected to maintain a certain image.

    I tried to watch that video for a few seconds, but yeah. Budweiser's marketing team lately has been terrible though. First they had that super defensive commercial about craft beer, and now they come across as the light beer choice for date rapists.

    Huh, I really haven't followed the development of the Shadowrun Online game.

    Nothing on this? Jenner likely caused a wreck due to negligence, so is Jenner going to face any consequences? From the brief blurb I read, it is unclear who was at fault. Even if he is, vehicular manslaughter is usually reserved for gross negligence or driving under the influence.

    So I decided to drop a buck on The Binding of Isaac. Yikes, that's a disturbing game.

    Isn't the whole statement "Gamers are dead" just a literary device? I've always assumed, and the articles I've read seem to support my assumption, that it is simply a statement about the changing gaming culture where casual has supplanted hardcore.

    RIPD - I had pretty low expectations going into this one, given the drubbing it got by critics. But it was actually a pretty fun little action comedy. Kevin Bacon was clearly having fun as the bad guy, and Jeff Bridges was entertaining as a Buffalo Bill Hickock impersonator. It was silly, sure, but I enjoyed it. Kind of a poor man's MIB.

    You guys only retain about 5% of what you are taught in history classes, so this isn't a huge surprise. Unless Feminism was an actual interest area, of course. Which given the way people talk on here, it would seem to be.
