  1. Meshugger is a winner. I do think that people lack proper historical context too often. And honestly, if you want to get the Patriot act and all this NSA stuff to change, start a movement. We live in a democracy, you can change stuff by raising awareness and putting societal pressure on the government. That's why gay people are getting married. Always remember that in the US: 90 years ago women could not vote. 70 years ago we stuck a bunch of American citizens in prison camps for being of Japanese descent. 50 years ago we segregated our schools. 40 years ago we still forced young men into the military. 30 years ago our economy was actually worse. 20 years ago we had a don't ask don't tell policy in the military. 10 years ago Osama was still playing video games in his crib. Ok so I ran out of steam at the end there. But yeah.
  2. I agree that the movement for more accountability in journalism has seen progress, and I think that is a great thing. But when are we at the point of diminishing returns? It seems like the decent sites have clarified themselves, the bad sites have been exposed, and now we are at the point where it is just angry people making angry faces at one another with not much else left to gain.
  3. Given the 3 day weekend and a bit of a less hectic schedule now that the school year is almost done, I got some projects done around the home. I recaulked the shower, fixed a gate latch that had broken off in a bad storm, put up a collapsible trellis gate to keep our dog in the backyard, and cut back some branches that were hanging over the garage. I only cut myself twice whacking away at the branches, so I'm pretty happy with that. I feel very manly.
  4. Your time management skills are terrible.
  5. You guys are terrible at this thread. Damn, now I'm terrible at this thread.
  6. Mission accomplished, time to move on to the next thing! I recommend the Patriot Act.
  7. Ineth, articles like that are written about Muslims all the time. Journalists who write that garbage should be rightly criticized. But why are we still talking about them 6 months later? (or 9, or whatever) Is there any evidence that the game industry has actually changed because of these articles? Was The Witcher 3 cancelled? Is Ubisoft working on Assassin's Creed: Feelings? Matching unreasonably angry people by being unreasonably angry is not healthy.
  8. I like that in Meshugger's scenario, the Mormons may be the only hope in keeping gay people around. On a more serious note, given our major issues of overpopulation and neglected children across the world, the idea that some fabulous couples will get married, not have children of their own, and then take care of other people's kids sounds like an ideal situation.
  9. Spec Ops: The Line is one of the few pure shooters I've ever finished. I agree that is is a mediocre cover shooter, but the story and the setting were worth going through. Try and stick it out.
  10. Dude, take the high road. Yeesh.
  11. Cheers for gay people, being married is awesome. I am grinning over the 'marraige is to procreate' troll.
  12. I don't really care if there were 12 or 24 or 48 articles attacking gamers. I've been a gamer long enough to see it go from being sold in zip lock baggies to it being a massive industry. It is a great time to be a gamer, our hobby has blossomed incredibly. I really see no issue with lobbying for better journalism around the gaming industry, but do try to sound less like an insecure little b when doing it.
  13. I am enjoying a cold beer at a brewery that I ran to, thanks to my excellent health and a growing craft beer scene. Life is good, it is friday, and I have the next 3 days off.
  14. It just dawned on me that Volourn is doing all this ironically. Well played sir.
  15. Do you even magic bro? Sorry. I am not even bro.... We are all bro here.
  16. Sorry Raithe.

I'm not going to act like I don't have worries about the Giants, but they are looking pretty good right now. Bumgarner just homered off the Dodgers Cy Young pitcher.
  18. So Luzarius is the second poster I've seen this week that seems to think DA:I was some sort of sales disaster. Who cares about actual numbers, I returned my copy so clearly the game was a complete failure!
  19. As someone who is not all that familiar with Twitter, it looks more like they are trying to interact with an announcement account that simply doesn't allow any interaction. Is there any more evidence about this than a few tweets by the dev?
  20. I am definitely getting Invisible Inc. on payday thanks to Keyrocks descriptions.
  21. How does one join a hashtag? You pound on it.
  22. Ah the internet, where obsessing over the looks of digital women is perfectly acceptable.
  23. Gas prices have really gone up since then!
  24. Well, Pitch Perfect does have the better puns. Honestly I think Mad Max will have staying power. I rarely want to go see a movie twice, and this one I'm definitely planning on it.
