My friend I'm sure everyone appreciates your insight but haven't you realized this thread isn't really about journalism ( well maybe it once use to be )...its the eternal battleground on these forums where we debate issues of SJ ...and we love it despite the heated exchanges I stick with the topic, feel free to do otherwise. Heh, welcome to the WOT section. We don't limit ourselves to bourgeoisie concepts like thread titles. Down with conventions!

My wife and daughter are in Disneyland for a cheer competition, so my son and I loaded up the RV and we are now surrounded by redwood trees. Thankfully we still have wi-fi.

The US census is actually pretty odd, there is a a box for Hispanic/Latino and there is a box for White Hispanic.
-
He's hispanic not white. Hispanic is not a race. Hispanic refers to a racial grouping that covers many different counties. Seems a little nitpicky to get on about it. Saying hispanics are not white is like saying that slavics are not white. If you're going to be that specific about it then you shouldn't use white but anglo saxon or germanic or aryan or whatever denomination they consider to be "white". I'm not going to profess to know how it works in Europe with all the different ethnic groups, but that isn't how it works in the US. Being Hispanic or Latino makes you part of a minority group, and you are not identified as part of the white majority. It is a general term that covers a bunch of Latin American countries. If you want be specific (and really, you are the one who got up in arms about it) then you would say Mexican American (or wherever his family is from.)

Well that rules out the meth lab.

I would move out of California. I only stay here because they pay me better than anywhere else in the country. Also Sacramento is still reeling from the recession, and it isn't going to get better with the drought. You'll have a better time finding a job in a growing community. Do you still get $900 a month anywhere in the country? That will go farther outside CA.

I really enjoyed the first half of Blackguards. I wonder if Blackguards 2 is much better? I hate to get the sequel when I didn't finish the original.

I'm at work and I can't think of the name of it, but there is a spell that is basically magic missile. You get a new version as you reach the next level of the spellbook, and it is pretty dang powerful by the end.

Hah, I always assume the gastrointestinal cost of those street vendors is too high, glad to hear you survived.

Are you yelling at kids to get off your lawn as well?

I haven't played it either because I was so turned off by the Beta. I keep telling myself "Just one more patch and then Ill play" but I know the dark truth...Ill probably never click the play button once. The PoE Beta revealed absolutely nothing about what is really great in PoE, and that is the fantastic character development and story. You have to start from the beginning to get a real feel for the epic that you are thrust into, and all the companions are just generic until you actually recruit them and travel with them a bit. The demo never appealed to me either, but it is not a real reflection on the game.

That's like comparing beer to wine. They are simply different.

4 people in a basement splitting 50k over a 12 year development cycle sounds like the plot of a horror movie. Why can't Obsidian follow this business model?

It might be a good idea for my next playthrough to not have everyone start off in ranged combat. Actually I could see just having two or three PC's making combat a bit more exciting, since you would really need to utilize all the skills available to get through tough fights.

I've had some fun watching a Spider Queen and her brood burn in a wall of flame.

No clue whatsoever. Yeah you really enjoyed it. lol. Anyway you're alone in that. Or youre simply not a fan of crawlers. Either way you're really challenged when it comes to separating the objective from subjective. Just lol Heh. MMX had a very well done combat system. But not much else. Actually it was a disaster overall. It's only worth playing for its turn based combat. Well I'm glad you enjoyed Grimrock. As I said, I did as well, it was worth my money. Not quite sure why you are comparing a crawler to PoE, but enjoy your time on these forums until you eventually wander off. 15 hours is a very good amount of hours for me on a budget title. I have more games then time.

If there is any position in the world that has always been a part of the Patriarchy, it is the Bishop of Rome.

Of course, they *can* do it today as well. I have four words for you Obsidrones. Legend. of. Grimrock. 1. 4 man team. In a basement. Killer content. Killer graphics. Oh yes, look at all the different shades of stone walls. I enjoyed Grimrock, but it got pretty boring about 15 hours in. Besides, it's a puzzle game, not a story RPG. I don't see how it compares to PoE. The story consists entirely of 'you've been pushed into a pit.' How original. Edit: Best thing about Grimrock is it probably got us Might & Magic Legacy.

The Weird, Random, and Interesting things that Fit Nowhere Else Thread..
Hurlshort replied to Raithe's topic in Way Off-Topic
I thought this was a interesting little story: https://celebrity.yahoo.com/blogs/celeb-news/alyssa-milano-mad-heathrow-confiscated-breast-milk-184614875.html Basically Alyssa Milano, who I have been in love with since I was a young pup, had breast milk confiscated at the airport because she didn't have the baby with her. Now for those of you now in the breastfeeding know, the milk is pretty dang precious. Just imagine trying to squeeze 5 ml of liquid out of your nipples, and you'll get an idea of what goes on behind it. Super sucky to have to waste any of it. *tsk*- 488 replies

These aren't really spoilers. They don't reveal anything about any plots.

Wow, hostility and rape humor. This is a real classy crowd.

Eh, they are just video games. I play them to have fun, not to generate a laundry list of complaints. I must not be a real fan.

Aka Obsidrones :D Heh, we usually go by Obsidianites. But yeah, why else would we hang out on the forum if we weren't big fans of Obsidian? Some of us have been here for over a decade. There's a difference between a fan and a fanboy (drone). The latter destroys the audience criteria even though both equally love their games. But which one gets the shinier badge?
