Age of Decadence
I'll be picking it up at the end of the month, it looks like they really pulled it off. Huzzah!

MLB 2015
I'm rooting for a Houston versus Texas series, since I think that will be a pretty cool Battle of Texas deal. Although I like Toronto too. Now that the Yankees are out, there aren't really any good villains in the American league.

Democrat Presidential Debate
Heh, I'm pretty sure that is a fair description of people who live on the internet.

Democrat Presidential Debate
But it's not really viewers, it is internet folks. Like Ron Paul, Bernie has captured the attention of the people who live on the internet. It did some pretty amazing things for Ron Paul, so who knows?

Democrat Presidential Debate
What media are you watching? Her qualifications are a huge part of the discussion, and for good reason, since she does have the most experience in the crowd. Her mistakes are super magnified, I hear about Benghazi regularly and the stupid emails are finally starting to fade into obscurity. I'd say the talk about her gender has been fairly minimal, particularly compared to the amount of attention race received with Obama. I'm not voting for her, I'm not really a fan of her policies by and large, but some of the people going off about her are just off their rockers.

Well yeah, it's easy to be a team player when your team has been winning.

Democrat Presidential Debate
I can predict the future: Hillary = Obama part 3, more sneaky freedom act stuff, foreign affairs will stay the same. Bernie = Heh, he ain't gonna win. But if he did, big business will tie everything up and he'll get little done. Trump = Seriously? Probably won't be able to get anything done, and might be the first president to lose interest and resign. Bush = Health care plan might see some changes. Foreign policy will take a hit. Off the top of my head that is it.

Why Columbus Day Should Be Abolished
To be fair, Amerigo gets a pretty large tribute in the form of two continents being named after him. But Columbus, despite his flaws, is still the first guy to take his ships west, hit land, and then return with good enough charts for subsequent explorers. The Vikings in Newfoundland is a fascinating story, and the mystery of Zheng He gives us some fun speculation, but neither triggered the massive changes in the Americas and Europe that came with Columbus's journey.

Damn, that slide from Utley. I like Utley, I don't think he was trying to injure Tejada, but I don't know how you call him safe after that. Talk about adding insult to injury. Tejada may have missed the bag, but so did Utley.

Video Game Voice Actors Vote to Strike
Indignation and annoyance? Where are you getting that? I'd say I'm waving my dismissive apathy flag pretty clearly when it comes to this issue. I post a flippant remark, you post about ignoring me. I then posted a cute cat picture.

Video Game Voice Actors Vote to Strike
You've really opened my eyes to the plight of the disenfranchised VO workers. I weep for them, quietly of course, so as to fully represent their struggle. Somebody already said this earlier, but if I'm really going to feel bad for a group involved in making games, it's going to be the bug testers.

Video Game Voice Actors Vote to Strike
Anyone who trivializes the bull**** that these people are fighting against down to this is worth an ignore, in my book.

What you did today
I'd back him, but I doubt my administration would go for it. The focus of the lesson revolved around a couple documents from the 9th and 10th century that we were analyzing the role of imams in legal matters. I was comparing it to the Constitution of Clarendon, and then trying to make it relevant with some of our legal issues of today. But Gromnir is right, we barely get to scratch the surface on this, and honestly very few 7th graders have the critical thinking skills to understand the issues in depth. But it's a start.

Canadian Federal Election 2015
Are facial veils a big problem in Canada? It's more of a cultural thing anyways, very little to do with Islam.

What you did today
I spent a bit of time trying to find a decent student friendly recap of the whole Kim Davis situation to go along with my lesson on Islam, separation of church and state, etc. It didn't go well. Our news options suck.
