Possibly future good news if they manage to regroup in a new studio. But yeah, sad.

Journalism and bias in the gaming industry.
I can certainly get behind that and have experienced people worrying on my behalf (who watch a lot of TV news incidentally), more than I worry myself. But as someone looking at GG objectively, I do see a lot of sensationalism on all sides - from fairly straight forward feminists agendas and/or misogyny, to big business corruption and nepotism... and while I can certainly understand the conclusions being drawn, I have to say that they often done so on rather flimsy evidence. And the entire debate seems to have been hijacked (and allowed to be hijacked) by the loudest 'I see a conspiracy!!' types. As a 'pro-GG', do you feel your platform is being taken over by the same kind of hate-infused narrative (from other pro-GGs)? edit: or rather, I guess my question is - what do the majority of 'pro-GG' see the issue as? From your perspective.

What are you playing now?
Path of Exile never really required that much grinding (except for the maps), so they are fairly easy to get.. but the upgrades etc for them can take a while.

Multiplayer vs. Single Player
I love coop with friends and feel that it's the superior gaming experience, but I loathe random strangers in multiplayer outside of select communities. So I'll often stick to SP between coop sessions.

Journalism and bias in the gaming industry.
For the uninitiated: The 'Gamergate' controversy started in early 2013, as the release of Zoe Quinn's "Depression Quest" was criticized from gamers who believed that the game had received a suspicious amount of attention in relation to it's quality and scope. Eron Gjoni (Zoe's ex boyfriend) wrote a blogpost accusing Quinn of having had an affair with Kotaku journalist Grayson, prompting the critics to conclude that the attention and success of "Depression Quest" was due in part to unfair bias and nepotism in the industry. Several articles from both sides of the issue has highlighted inconsistencies in the stories of both Grayson, Quinn and Eron as well as the many other examples that have followed. Gamergate is wideley seen in the public, as a culture war over the diversification of gaming, artistic recognition and social criticism of video games and the gamer social identity. For the posters in this thread: Many bloggers and populists have tried to steer the discussion into areas they feel are the underlying issue - ranging from simple bias, to widespread misogny or misandry. I would however prefer that we keep this discussion as objective and clean as possible and so I will be keeping an a extra close eye on this thread. This certainly does not mean that you may not discuss any issue you feel, but rather that you should be thoughtful of how you discuss it with those you disagree with. Especially in regards to these three guidelines: Discrimination: Obsidian has a zero-tolerance policy with regard to racial, ethnic, gender, religious, disablement, and/or sexually discriminating remarks. Harassment: We ask that the users of this board treat one another with respect, even when opinions differ. Personal attacks that are intended to cause unwanted attention, embarrassment, or harm will not be tolerated. In addition, Obsidian does not tolerate disrespectful and/or slanderous posts about its competitors, developers and publishers. Such posts will be subject to editing or deleting, with its posters censured or banned. Objectionable Content: The use of abusive, vulgar or profane language, even if hidden through the use of symbols or other characters is not tolerated. Intentionally posting workarounds to our language filters are prohibited. Posts may be edited or deleted at any time by the moderation team, and depending on the severity and frequency of said posts, the poster may be censured or banned. Any posts in violation of the Forum Guidelines will either be removed or modified and authors of such posts will receive warnings and/or have their content placed under moderated review. "Luckily" for all, I don't have a personal opinion on this matter and my only concern is to be a pain in the ass to everyone equally.

What are you playing now?
Another round of Xenonauts with a bunch of mods.. It's a great game, I just wish the air combat was a bit more fleshed out, it gets boring after the first 6 or so times. Also King of Dragon Pass on the taplet.

Movies you've seen recently
In Meshugger's defence the vast majority of pre1980 heroes are beyond ridiculous and even Simpsons, Family Guys and South Park's attempt to make fun of them didn't really work - as all those heroes could easily exist in the Marvel universe.. it's just that a select handful had pretty good reboots in the last 20-30 years that gave them some depth. Like Batman, who is of course still ridiculous, but at least Miller's 'The Dark Knight' made him psychotic enough to make some sort of sense. Some of the villains though. on topic: Watched 'Frank'.. Weird movie, liked it though.

What works in comics certainly doesn't always work in movies - Aquaman is such a stupid character on so many levels that I'm surprised they even bothered... and to be honest I think I'll prefer this version over a more canon one.

Buy an Alpha version of Galactic Civilization III for $100
As I understand these kind of early access titles also comes with the chance to give feedback to and influence the game development - many people probably feel this (for 20-40+ or so dollars above normal price) gives them a look 'behind the curtain'.. so the the additional price reflects the desire to become a para-developer, so to speak.

What you did today
Shaking my head over my fellow Danes going crazy over this "terror attack" - I'm just happy we haven't experienced a real one, like 9/11, the Madrid bombing or the London Underground attacks.. But then we are so very small, so a few people dying probably feels like hundreds to them. Also, borrowed books and working on sales for a friends company, to help him expand.

Perhaps. I'd wager the researchers are pushing pills, surgery, or something else that can make them (and/or whomever funded the study) $$$ though. Exercise and a good diet indeed does work for the vast majority of folks out there who actually do stick to a good regimen of both. Or they define obesity as some kind of obscure medical factor rather than "pudgy due to inactivity".

Danish Terror Attack
The real tragedy is of course that this is being used as an excuse to curtail civic rights yet again.. I mean, it's one guy going nuts - I would hardly call it terror. the only positive being that the word is slowly loosing it's scare-factor. Now we have officers on the streets with frikkin mp5s, I had to pass 3 police officers with automatic weapons to get to the library (next to the synagogue) that's worries me a lot more. As for integration - I feel our approach is valid, but the problem is we are trying to integrate people socio-culturally instead of nationalistic and yet the tools we use are nationalistic - and that in general seems to create a lot of tension. Whereas America and Canada, objectively, seem to be better at integrating newcomers, who actively work their butts off to become parts of society - while still somewhat keep their own culture. Of course nationalistic integration creates it's own sets of problems.. So which is better in the long run.. no idea.

HBO's Game of Thrones pt 2
Ultimately this is where the big difference between books, comics, written materials and video manifest themselves.. A guy like that would look ridiculous on modern TV, he's closer to an 80s dystopian sci fi character. Same with most comic book heroes - there's a reason why they didn't dress Hugh Jackman like this TV is apperantly not a great medium for characters that dress larger than life. (Unless the story specifically calls for it of course, like The Cell etc)

Another incident with black men getting shot by police
It was probably spotted without foreknowledge.. With the naked eye you can tell that all the lower letters are copies from the rest of the text. Except for the B (which has been made by manipulating the D in should).

HBO's Game of Thrones pt 2
Yeah, after I read on a Wiki that Daario (the womanizer merc captain) looks like this: I was really fine with the show diverting a bit...
