  1. the "how to drive a tank" is actually an interesting read.
  2. I suspect that you're absolutely right. Although I'm sure there are alot of superficial references, which adds some depth, like in Lost.
  3. well I think we have arrived at that final stop. Thanks to everyone for being civilized, as this discussion drifted off topic (and my apologies for helping it drift a little further).
  4. moved to appropriate forum - sorry for the late respons time.
  5. 1. 2. "The entropy of an isolated system not in equilibrium will tend to increase over time, approaching a maximum value at equilibrium." - how is this in violation with evolution? 3. Every living organism is in a constant transitional phase - You can easily find markers of previous forms - like the Coccyx commonly refered to as the tailbone. There are also plenty of transitional forms. 4. wrong - it says life originated and evolution proceeded due to natural selection and competition. Mutation could be viewed at as a game of chance, the same could however be said about anything. 5. True - but if you believe in empiricism nothing is ever really proved - some things are just alot more likely than others. and your right - this is not really the place to discuss this - but I had to respond to some of those statements.
  6. Ghosts of Cit
  7. yeah my list would look something like that - except Beatie Boys over Queens of the Stonage.
  8. it's gonna get really ugly when Mica and Atton starts hitting on you.. in a seriously shortsighted galaxy, far far away.
  9. Amen - I still play Alpha Centauri - it's by far the most adaptable game in the series.
  10. just because they are bold doesn't mean they're more important. It's just easier to read that way. I'm looking much more forward to seeing RHCP than BB - espcially because I heard they are freakin' awesome live! But 'Bj
  11. Fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony.
  12. wow that looks pretty neat!
  13. I'm off to Roskilde Festival soon! 8 days og music, party and good times.. it's gonna be great! Some of the bigger names include: Beastie Boys Red Hot Chili Peppers Bj
  14. couldn't the same be said about anyone who's left wing? people are not 'indoctrinated' because they don't agree with you - they may just have a fundamentally different view of things - although I know the feeling, when you know something to be 'right' and everyone disagrees .. I considered moving to America once, but it was your health system that made me change my mind. I would rather pay 50% taxes and then have the certainty that, no matter what happens, I'm fully covered. But as Taks shortly brushed on, I do believe your country is actually too big to support such a system effectively - but I hope you find one that suits your needs better - it was very sad to see people being dumped off by a cab, after being refused help, or policies being revoked - because insurance companies wouldn't cover expenses. I don't think I could work as a doctor in a place were you had to refuse help to someone who really needed it and might die, just because they couldn't afford it - even if it should only happens once every 5 years.
  15. While Michael Moore can be just as manipulative as those he's 'attacking', I still think he's a better person - he helped those 911 firefighters, he wrote a check to his most adament advisery to save his wife's life .. It's most likely in order to gain sympathy for his cause (why else would he mention it?) - but he did it - and he made someones life better.. and I have the deepest respect for that! His message isn't hate or war, it's not a personal vendetta against a country or a system - it's a fight against what he believes is unfair.. He may have struck gold by doing so and this is somewhat contrary to what he tries to portray himself as - but I honestly don't care - it was great to see how happy those people were at the end. As long as he is advocating peace, justice, liberty (yes I believe a social program can be considered liberty), free speech and actually try to help those he involve himself with, he has my utmost respect. No matter what cause he chooses to represent.
  16. clouded today - heavy rain yesterday, I was outside for like 5 minutes and was totally drenched! the rain is gonna be somewhat sporadic in the next couple of days, but overall it's like late summer/early autumn here. Wet, windy and warm.
  17. A bear is physically stronger than a human, but is it more powerful? Nihilus became powerful to a point where that power consumed him - he lost control - without control you are like a raging beast. It's hard to compare the two - Palpatine would never face Nihilus in a head on battle, because that would be suicide, he would use cunning and defeat Nihilus by exploiting his weaknesses - and I would argue that this is a stronger power than raw force.
  18. maybe if you live outside Europe - English is like a big mix of all the languages here - some Old Norse (from the viking occupation), some German, some Gaelic, some Latin (from the Romans) and alot of French (more Latin) making it quite easy for anyone on the continent to understand English in a fairly short time, if they should wish to learn it.
  19. Great weekend - I turned 23 on the 23rd during the midsummer festivties (Sct. Johns/Hans night) and the weather was wonderful - spent all night at a huge lake, with a bottle of wine, some good company and a large bonfire to keep us all warm.
  20. about 185,000 average - about 250,000 when I'm best and 30-35 wps. I need to practice my English skills.
  21. hah .. this was pretty funny, because I've actually never had a game, with my group, were someone didn't try to set fire to something. clich
  22. well it is a great way to release some of that stress that builds of from sneezing several times.
  23. first time I played through KOTOR1 I had no idea how to make a good character - so I was severly underpowered throughout the game. The govenor on Taris was hard - Darth Bandon was hard - Calo Nord was hard - the small Rancors were hard - even Malak was hard.. a scoundrel/consular with focus on persuade and buffing (no combat powers to speak of) is gonna have a hard time. Plus I had really messy stats as well. Second time round - same kind of character - although this time I knew what I was doing. I mopped the floor with everyone without dying much more than once (damn rancors). KOTOR2 was pretty easy - no matter what setup you used.
