1. Is it possible to have serious, workable internet romances that doesn't lead to have gay sex with a boy pretending to be a girl? I honestly have no idea - I don't see a problem with it though, I would imagine that just as many internet romances end up in tears (sad or happy ones) as irl. But any dating media, where you can't see people you are talking to, has some rather significant drawbacks. 2. Who wants to see a really ugly picture? I have to say yes - mostly because I would be too curious if I declined. And it's better to get the ugly stuff over with, instead of wondering about it. 3. Why is it we internet geeks spend way too much time on asanine forums such as Obsidian, Bethesda, *raaavpuling.com*, Badjojo, Ford.com, TelevisionWithoutPity, BIO, or mlb.com., or any other place (for bonus points, name the 3 of those that i actually visit - Obsidian is a freebee choice, HAHA!)? It's a group mentality thing. 4. For more Dramatics: Who are your 3 favorite posters of all time anywhere, and why? 5. Who are your 3 least favorite posters of all time anywhere, and why? With fear of sounding like a hippie I actually don't have any particular favorites or dislikes - but I know the regulars better, which of course speaks in their favour (most of the time)

KotoR 3: Ideas, Suggestions, Discussion, Part 23

-*small spoilers*- [1] you did solve a political crisis on Onderon. [2] you did fight a small war on Dantooine, and whoever you helped was allied with you in the fight against Nihilus. [3] you found several important/crucial items throughtout the game. [4] Well we just proved that KOTOR2 fufills all your needs. --- seriously though - I know what you mean. When you are replaying either K1 or K2 you get tired, and fast, of looking for Star Maps and hidden Jedi Masters. -
how many hours you played?
Rosbjerg replied to TehSaberMa5t3r's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
3 completed games of about 30 hours each and 2 unfinished games of about 5 hours each. so about 100 hours, or a little over 4 days, non-stop KOTOR2. -
I laughed so hard when Edwin completed his Nether Scroll quest and I took him to the Copper Coronet to meet the guy who always flirts with your female companions..

I wouldn't dare label it "intelligent" if you couldn't turn it off. I have a Canon Ixus 300 myself (picture). Which I've installed some additional software on - allowing me to take pictures were I can use alot of effects to compensate for it's slow closing time. Using sepia for instance is a great way to make otherwise shaky cameras take sharper pictures - and you can always add the colours later.

What's so bad about the dark side anyway?
Rosbjerg replied to Deadly_Nightshade's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
[1] Ethics and Morale are not a design of nature - in nature there is simply survival - no regret or conscience. Animals can not be considered evil because they don't "enjoy" inflicting pain and they can't grasp the true consequences of their actions. Lions won't kill you for fun or out of belief, they will only kill you if they see you as a threat or food. The same goes for your cat, it's not playing with the mouse because it enjoys it (in our understanding of enjoyment) - it's simply following it's nature; to hunt living prey. [2] You've been listening to Kreia? I wouldn't call you evil if you decide not to give a dollar to a beggar. Neither would I call you good if you do. If we view good and evil as the consequence of our actions, then none of us are able to commit evil or good acts deliberatly. We may decide to help someone, but in the process end up hurting them - like giving money to a drugaddict, which he then uses to buy some bad drugs that end up killing him. Well the question here is; who is responsible? true, you did allow him to buy it, by supplying the money - but he made the choice of buying it - and the dealer was the one who sold him the bad drugs. And then it becomes really abstract, because let's say that everyones decision was influenced by various factors such as their upbringing, their friends, their immediate surroundings etc - then suddenly a rather large group of people are indirectly responsible for actions that led to this single death. Is everyone evil because they allowed it to happen or supplied the circumstances required? [3] No you can't put yourself in just one box - we all commit good or evil acts (only taking about the immediate conscient acts here - where you know that you are hurting/helping someone). But your argument here is actually that we are slaves to a much larger system of control - nature balancing itself out - which puts you in a box as well - and a much more confining box at that. You also argue that this system allows us to live - and if we go against nature we will die (if nature should "decide" to test us) this makes no sense to me - I don't believe you have a better chance of surviving, say a Tsunami, if you are "evil" and I would like to see a general argument proving that. Of course you would have to clarify what being evil actually is first. [4] What does this have to do with anything? Take one wolf out of it's group and it won't last long either - Humans are a social animal - we need each other to survive. It has nothing to do with being good or evil - it's just our design, we were made physically weak (individually). And are you arguing now that natural disasters are evil? [5]Again you are arguing that we are slaves to nature - I would argue that humans have a vested interest in surviving as a whole, even if that means the individual must suffer/be restricted a little - like say, only 1 child per couple. The real deal here is free will in many cases this is what seperates us from animals - we are given responsiblity for our actions, because we had the choice. Animals have choices as well, but they are much more influenced by their instincts. We can only consider someone evil who made the choice willingly to do evil acts. Where I would say evil is doing something that purposefully hurts others, when other options were available that wouldn't cause as much pain. But then another question arises; if something is bad for the individual, but good for the species as a whole - can it be considered evil? or alternatively - does the end justify the means? Like willingly killing one man to save five others. Let's take a controversial example - a charasmatic leader rises in a country which has been in decline for years - eventually he will start a war in an effort to stabilize the entire continent - he is not like say Hitler - he wants peace - but he is willing to kill in order to achieve what he believes is a greater good. If he succedes in his war, the entire continent will fall under one banner and there will be peace for untold years. If he fails many smaller wars will be fought over the years and in whole a few more will die than if he succeded. In both examples a democracy (or democracies) would be formed and individual freedom would be assured, the only difference is the amount of people that dies. The question is, can we accept one big evil or would we rather suffer many smaller evils? Can we justify his actions because they ultimately brought peace? -
I have bad experience with cameras that automatically adjust the ISO. While they can sharpen the area of focus, it's harder to make them actually take "cleaner" pictures when people are moving (they tend to corrupt/blur the background more). But I don't know this particular camera and maybe it's able to compensate?

I have the day off - and I'm utterly bored! I think I have to invent some new kind of entertainment, in the next couple of hours, to keep myself sane.

I sense that the Green Card is on it's way - but a forest fire has probably delayed it.
-
Sure - but it requires you to personally pick it up in Denmark. (gotta do my research better next time - or I'm gonna be giving cheeseburgers left and right)

haha.. got me..

[1] well, what's cheaper? simple as that.. [2] true - and I was arguing that you make a new engine to make more money - you seem to agree. there's also originality in question - people have come to expect that hyped games have new features and better graphics than older engines can deliever. Imagine if Mass Effect was made with the Halo2 engine - no one would be as impressed - in fact take a look at some of the threads here like "Best Game Graphics" and see what people look at. It's a golden rule in films, that every sequel must contain bigger explosions - what do you think the rule is in video games? (talking about pop-culture here) And of course I know that games must be more than a great looking explosion - but seeing as we are both grossly generalizing - I trust you won't hold it against me.

Here are 2 pictures I wish I had taken! They are from Roskile Festival '06 and two pictures I have taken; (unfortunately the program I used to resize these pictures decided to corrupt them - which is why they are a bit blurred)
-
first off, have you installed the latest drivers (for everything)? Second, what's your specifications? It's hard to guess at the problem without knowing at least what graphic card etc you have.
-
How would movies go if they all had the same actors, same stages and same props? neither extremes are viable - though the core of your point remains, if you want to make a lowcost game, fast, without taking away content - use another company's engine. But if you want to be ahead in the industry and push the limit (more profitable these days) make your own engine.

Rosbjerg replied to CoM_Solaufein's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Okay - Thread pruned. Again - let's keep it civil. I think there's still alot of constructive things to discuss - so a golden rule here would be: if you don't have anything useful to add - steer clear. -

Nonetheless, I would like for you to at least keep a civil tone - I know this particular discussion have been spanning 23 threads - but some are still new at this and need to learn the ropes without being shot down before they can make their arguments. -
So.. "Which Norse god(ess) would YOU be..."

Yeah went to the beach on Amager today. Aside from being toasted by the sun and the warmth, it was a rather good experience - good view - nice weather - good company. And I lost my apartment - but found another. A very strange day actually.

no, he follows your command without too much fuss. You don't need to fight him either way.
