  1. actually - come to think of it - I've often wanted to buy a book collection.. but my friends all have extensive "libraries", which means I've never had to buy a book myself.. these days (my friends scattered across the country) I kinda regret not having an entire wall pasted with literature. When I shared an apartment with an old friend, who had about 500+ books in his collection at that time, we were able to this with what we couldn't get on shelves:
  2. My view precisely. EDIT: well, not precisely. He left out the beer. okay how about this one then.. if you punish every bad decision harshly, pretty soon people won't even make good beer anymore!
  3. If you punish every bad decision harshly, pretty soon people won't even make good ones..
  4. Yeah that happens alot in my games as well.. I had a funny moment when the hologram of GO-TO got stuck in the entrance/exit of the Ebon Hawk, where he was later joined by Bastilla - the two of them stayed there the rest of them game..
  5. I've had custom build computers since 1996.. I don't trust companies to build anything or install anything for me - I'm a degenerate control freak when it comes to computers.. Still, I buy a new one so rarely that when it's time to upgrade I feel like I'm starting all over again (getting to know the market).
  6. I would've suspended them for the rest of the year. Crossing the line would be if the kids were hurt .. and no I honestly don't believe they suffered much emotionel pain - and nothing they can't handle.. that being said - they shouldn't have been exposed to it! but firing the teachers can cause more problems.. and actually hurt the kids even more emotionally!
  7. yeah because your schoolsystem really needs to fire everyone who makes a bad call - that's gonna make for better education.. no-ones perfect - but no "one" was responsible here, I think it's appropriate - I bet they learned their lesson about creative drills! if they do something stupid of this magnitude again however - then you can fire them.
  8. Damn.. these cats are awesome.. made me cry just from laughing! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JAYKw-x6qE&NR=1 seriously - that last cat is really messed up! imaging hearing that one night!?
  9. I have more stories about things I shouldn't have bought than things I should've.. come to think of it, I only have stories about things I shouldn't have done or bought..
  10. I've noticed that alot of people on these boards like animals.. well why don't we have a little show of hands, so to speak, with links or pictures of amazing animals doing amazing things.. I'll start off with Tyson the skateboarding bulldog!
  11. I'm Kristian... and I'm proud of it!
  12. What? you are you saying that I'm Christ or something? (that's my name your messing with you know)
  13. Only time I really enjoyed Mission Vao's presence, was when I had Zaalbar kill her. She was pretty useless and annoying.. But in all fairness she was a ok interesting character, I just wished they'd made her more valuable to the party.

Then what about that food dropoff .. Dharma still exists, but just not on the Island. The Others have, to some extent, taken over much of what Dharma did, except for the eksperimental psychological research. There still seems to be no connection besides Ben however. It could seem though, that The Others and Dharma had the initial same goal - to explore the Island - both geographical and in all other aspect. The use of advanced technology, versus a "natural connection" to The Island, seemed to be their main difference though - so maybe Richard, Jacob and the likes were a splinter group of Dharma? And Ben united the ideas in helping to wipe off Dharma..

I feel there's more to it than that. Sure it's in Ben and his gangs best interest to keep the Island unknown, but my gut is telling me that they weren't the ones behind it, at least not completly. "The Box" may have conjured up this fake plane - but at this point we don't know what "The Box" is exactly or who is controlling it. I think there's another player in this game, one we have yet to see - and one who is playing on all the hands.
  16. NWN2, Civ4 and MTW2 at the same time.. (meaning I don't really have time to play any of them) I finally have a computer that can runs these games!
  17. heh seeing as I'm even referring to Kreia as "she" really reveals to me how I view her as an (almost) actual person.. If KOTOR2 had been truely finished by Obsidian, it would have been a mindblowing game indeed..
  18. just remembered my actual favorite quote - by a friend of mine I only read letters with stamps. - Meta, "plus ultra" is way to deep to have as a favorite quote.. it actually makes you think!
  19. It is a very sad thing that nowadays there is so little useless information. - Oscar Wilde

This last episode was really incredible, except for Jacob, it seemed quite of out tune with the rest - but as everything else in this show, I'm sure there's a perfectly abnormal and obscure explenation for it. I've been dying to know more about The Dharma Initiative vs "The Others" how they were connected and what exactly happened - great revelation! (btw - how the **** do they make those strange whispering noises!??) Something that keeps ringing in my ear though, is the fact that they found the plane out in the "real" world - with all the people dead and accounted for.. also something Richard said to Juliet earlier, when he was recruiting her - "we're located just outside of Portland" - which is where Ben was actually born. Which makes me think he has alot to say in the coming episodes. This show is building up like nothing I've ever seen, it's either gonna be the best series I've ever seen or the biggest dissapointment... - ps. I found it quite ironic that Charlie and Hurley found Ben's dad, knocked his head off, and took a ride in the car.
  21. Kreia and then Jolee right behind her.. of all the characters in the KOTOR universe they were the most alive to me, very fleshed out and deep, with clear distinctive personalities (opposed to Canderous - the tank or Mission - the teenage rebel).. But Kreia wins because she actually made me think and speculate about morality and my indoctrinated conceptions of good & evil.
  22. Both Canderous, Carth and Zaalbar can be made quite effective if you focus them on blades and melee fighting.. so you can actually easily be the "spellcaster" quite early off.. I always focused everyone (except the droids) on melee fighting as guns are utterly useless in the game compared to a quick flurry. I usually played as Scoundrel/Consular which meant I weren't that good of a fighter.. But it was more fun as the game became a little (though not much) more challeging.
  23. First time through KOTOR 1 I used Carth and Bastilla (because of the romance option) until I found Jolee, then he replaced Carth.. I wanted Juhani more, but she never said a word and wasn't really that interesting after a while. Through several playthrough I would say Carth and Bastilla are my favorite characters, due to the fact that they are the most "active" companions - in terms of responding and reacting to the game. Then comes HK-47 for his deliciously morbid remarks, but he's fairly incomptetent in action imho. In KOTOR2 I used Kreia anytime I could, then I switched alot around, learning from my experience in KOTOR 1 (that every character has something unique to say) .. I didn't realize who you could train (or how) until about lvl 16, when Atton suddenly became a jedi after a rather long discussion. But I think The Handmaiden was my primary choice - followed by Atton. I never used T3 or GOTO more than once.
  24. Hugin and Munin.. meaning "thought" and (the) "memory" Hugin comes from "at komme i hu" - "to have in ones thoughts / to have in ones mind" and Munin "han som mindes" - "He who remembers" Just thought I would add my two cents.
  25. Without Vader - Luke and Leia would never be born and the dawn of a new society would never emerge.. The consequences of changing a single fact in the past are too widespread for anyone to to comprehend. Every thing you do changes the chain of events that leads to your own future - the air you breath, where you step.. Also the fact that you travel backwards to change an event is in itself a testamony to the fact that you can't change it at all - you would not be you if it didn't happen and therefore you wouldn't even travel back in the first place (because then it never happened).
