How could I forget Leffe!
-
of course it depends on where you live.. My city is next to the ocean, with alot of boats (of all sizes) very close by. For me it would be quite easy to leave my home and sail away to any number of small islands in the seas around scandinavia. Plus Scandinavia is not so densly populated. If you live in, say, London - with +10 million people - I can see what you mean.

Yeah I think Sublime made a song about it.

For starters any stash can only be temporary since replenishing it, in a city, will involve raiding local stores on the risk of infection. I strongly advise leaving the city, and at best fortifying an island with enough land to grow crops for at least a few thousand people.. while taking as many supplies as you can along the way.. maybe taking some army rations? You need to get away from the mainland, until you can better make an appraisal of the situation.

I think that's enough flaimbaiting for one topic.

his music was used in The Shining I believe..

Heh, nice to hear.. Belgium makes good beer, so does the Chezch Republic - in fact I think the best beer in the world is from there.. I don't remember any of the beers names (obviously) - but fully recommend travelling to Prague and tasting the local brew.

I read the Isac Asimov Foundation Series. And now I'm reading:

I know this is a sensitive subject, but let's keep the arguments constructive. - Personally I'm really against this, I'm playing AoC, but I don't like to see the KOTOR series turned into an mmo. I'd rather it stayed as an RPG - much rather!

I have to mention Claude Debussy - he uses pianos alot! but it's amazing stuff. When anyone mentions Tchaikovsky I can't help thinking of the Monty Python sketch

Edgar Mitchell - Wikipedia Just because a guy is into paranormal studies doesn't mean he's delusional. But his involvment in IONS (Institute of Noetic Sciences), INREES (Institute for Research on Extraordinary Experiences) might hurt his credibility. He is Advisory Board Chairman of ICIS (Institute for Cooperation in Space), which also counted Arthur C. Clarke as one of it's members - it's an organisation against the development of weapons used in space. You would hate them Xard. (I love the internet - it makes you seem so knowledgeable. ) - On topic: I was thinking about this today - and the prospect of aliens really scare me! It's the classical case of fearing the unknown - but the size of the galaxy and universe just means that anything goes - there could be all kind of beings out there. And there's no reassurance that they'll be friendly. I can only imagine what the natives of America must have felt when they saw the first ships. With no way of knowing what was coming. Not realizing the thousands upon thousands that would die because of it.

Local beer is always interesting - try if you can find a local brewery around you and see what they have available. For the enviromentaly oriented beer drinker, the Danish "Thy Classic" (organic beer) is really amazing. I don't know if it's available outside of DK, but if it is you should really try it. A good solid beer, with a great taste. Probably horribly expensive for most people though.

To redeem that horrible blight we released on the world, I have to forward a good Danish singer (band) Kashmir with - I really love that song.

Yes! you are totally right.. I saw Roger Waters perform this live in 2006. Damn that was one of the most beatiful concerts I've ever attended.

The orange just gives it a bittersweet taste, that goes well with a White beer. Drink it in a big glass so it can take some air. I don't know why but that's really good for the taste imo. Also.. for all you beer lovers, if you should by any chance be hanging around Europe in September, I recommend the; European Beer Festival in Copenhagen. It's mostly Scandinavian beers, but then again, we've been making beer in this part of the world for over a 1000 years.. I would like to think we know what we are doing.

Being from a Beer nation I have to mention Carlsberg and Tuborg.. Although they really aren't that great. Some of the better beer available here are - Hoegaarden - a beer from Belgium, it's a Wiessbeer. It has a long history and was first made in the 15th century. - Franziskaner - German beer. I don't know much about it but it's a good brand. Great taste!

The Mass Effect sequels.. Fallout 3 Spore Call of Duty World at War and more I can't remember right now.

NWN2 / MotW - It's a kind of must-have for any fans of the RPG Fantasy genre. I've only played NWN 2 through 1,5 times. I don't find the story all that good - I've been trying to complete the MotW but I can't muster the will to do it. I was so horribly dissapointed by NWN 1, that some of it has rubbed off on NWN 2. But I do recognize a good game when I see it and I have and will recommend it to others. So yes, you should at least try it! Mass Effect - I really enjoyed this game, but I see where all the critizism comes from. Most people feel really immersed and sucked in on their first playthrough (so did I), but for the second and third you start to see how repetitive it actually is. But I'm really glad I bought it! The first playthrough was definitely worth the cash, without a doubt. Medieval 2 Total War - This is one of my favorite games (I love the series), so I'm a little biased here. So I'll talk about the main weakness - The AI - it's bad and you'll get probably get annoyed with it after a few games. The AI doesn't know how to fight, it will abandon important cities even though it's clear that they'll be attacked (like if a crusade or jihad is declared) and the Mongols can really ruin your game if you play any of the muslim nations - they are way overpowered. Which I know they were irl. But it kinda sucks that you'll get steamrolled if you play Egypt and they come your way. Sins of a Solar Empire - I have very mixed feelings about this game. If you like the 4X types of games you'll probably like this. It's well balanced, interesting and original. The graphics are great and the game is challenging.. But it fails for me because the story is so interesting, but it doesn't have anything to do with the actual game. A small game takes place in 1 solar system with maybe 8-10 habitable worlds. Which seems stupid to me. If they'd made it so that you play in a series of solar systems with only a few planets in each - then I would've liked much more. Maybe I'm a little unfair here - but I really lost alot of interest because of that design. Assassins Creed - The freedom of this game will amaze you. You can climb almost any building, choose any path to get to the part of town you want to get to and it feels very dynamic and real. The combat is a bit wierd at first, but when you get used to it it's both cool and fun. After a while it becomes repetitive, as others have mentioned. But the design saved the game for me. Worth the purchase imo! CoD 4 - If you enjoyed any of the other Call of Duty games, this is a must-buy! It's short, but my God it's so intense you have no idea! Love it!

The 60's movie? I can't remember the plot anymore.. But a quick look at imdb told me that you are correct. Although they are using different approaches, according to the story I found Uwe is using a German Tax loophole. I don't think that was an option in 68.

I was standing right in front of a tree that was struck by lightning once. It really does explode.. Quite fascinating actually..

I've only seen 2 Uwe Boll films and both are on my "10 worst movies I've ever seen" list. I found this an interesting read Uwe Boll: Money For Nothing

I've been playing it for a month now.. and I'm having a fairly good time.. I've never played MMOs before, so the grinding is bothering me alot. Also the constant quests that are pretty much "go to That Guy/Place and fetch my X amount of Y" .. But I'm playing in an RP-PVP server - and that is great fun, the RP community on the European servers is really great. That's what saves it for me. If the crowd was boring it'd be out of that game in no time.
