  1. I bought The Orange Box and Battlefield 2142. Been playing both, as well as a campaign of HoI2 with some friends (I think the missus is gonna kill me some time this weekend for totally ignoring her the last few days ) Portal is tremendous fun! but Team Fortress 2 is gold, man I love the cartoony/silly theme of the game - It's much better than the original imho. Battlefield 2142 is a bit dissapointing - but that's my own fault - I expected more teamwork.
  2. Decided to buy Battlefield 2142 and The Orange Box because I miss the old online FPS times. Both are cool, but Team Fortress 2 is a blast.. I played the first one alot and I had the day off yesterday to play the sequel - and I loved it. I've been trippin' all day at work today to go home and play it some more
  3. I can only assume you're talking about illegally downloading comics. In which case I have to say that you are right, it's not allowed.
  4. I'm so looking forward to this! I'm still playing HOI2 alot. But I miss the fact that you can play any nation at any time, like EU3.
  5. I can just imagine the poor peasant working his fields next to this scene, going home to his village to tell the story of 2 mighty warriors, who had a mountain fall on them, only to push it aside like it was a twig, be called a lair and exiled from his village for thinking that people were stupid enough to believe that.
  6. Started a new Multiplayer game with some friends in Hearts of Iron 2 Armageddon. The Cold War just got really cold when Germany wasn't defeated and now (1948) Commitern Russia/Asia, The Democratic Americas and Fascist Europe are building up their respective war machines. it has a 1984 feel to it (except for the different ideologies).
  7. Hells Angels had gotten their hands on some Army Bazookas and wanted to blow up a jail. Can't remember if they wanted to free their own guys or blow up the other baddies (it was in the mid 90's)... anywho, they were stupid enough to fire the thing 20 m away from the walls, since the rocket had an arming range of 30 m, it was kinda like shooting a giant metal arrow into a brick wall.. So sure, they have bazookas - but they are too stupid to use them anyway. I live in N
  8. Horribly tragedy and I really hope the Chinese Goverment is able to regulate these companies soon. A funny side not though - I was talking to a co-worker (from Pakistan) and we talked about, different odours and soon body odours (he started it). He pointed out, that to him most Northern Europeans smelled like sour milk. He was often annoyed by it and couldn't understand how we could stand the smell ourselves. I told him that people from the middleeast usually smell like strong spices to us.. I often wondered if we had a specific smell to us as well, I'm not sure I'm that happy about knowing, because man.. sour milk? I'd rather smell like spice any day!
  9. Playing a cool multiplayer game in Hearts of Iron 2. We're 3 and playing the Axis powers. But I think we are gonna try a different approach. Going Germany, USSR and USA - and then aiming for a Cold War between the three.
  10. 4'ish I think.. it was in the kindergarden and her name was "S
  11. I know I guy who has designed a straw that can clean polluted water and filter out bacterias. I'll ask him if he can make some like this. Pretty handy for those post-zombie scenarios.
  12. I especially like this one. It has that that old school arrogant aristocratic feel about it.
  13. Assassin's Creed Call of Duty 2 Sid Meier's Civilization 3 + expansions Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Europa Universalis 3 + expansions Europa Universalis Rome Galactic Civilizations II + expansions Hearts of Iron 2 + expansions Neverwinter Nights 2, Mask of The Betrayer Mass Effect, Bringing Down The Sky Mount and Blade Oblivion + expansions Swat 4 + expansion The Ship The Witcher All the Total War Games + expansions World in Conflict Not counting the various expansions - 19 Games Then I look at the Games I own, but haven't installed, and come to the conclusion that I spend waaay too much money on computer games.
  14. Dumb settings? I never heard that argument before, everyone I know who played the GTA series thought the various settings were hilarious and great. I really loved Vice City - running around in purple suits and looking like an 80's pimp. But I can see your point. I prefer a modern time as well, it's easier to understand the setting.
  15. I really liked 's Intro
  16. It's a women. The funny thing is, the site uses Google Ads - and there's one for Spore, linking to a online shop where you can buy it.
  17. It never occured to you that maybe they are simply responding in kind? Some Americans are utterly convinced that their system, ideas, beliefs and convictions are the best in the world, without ever setting foot outside their state - We have those here as well - but there seems to be more of them in America, or at least more that are vocal about it. To me, it simply comes down to the fact that Europe is getting too "old", we as nations have been through alot over the centuries. While America is still "young" - this is the only thing I'm really envious of.. The spirit of America, that believes anything is still possible. But sometimes the rethoric gets a little boring. And yes, mostly likely that's because I wish we had that spirit at times. And to answer your remark on better service.. I was talking about nurses being more friendly, food being better (more choices) etc. Not the quality of the healtcare. Which isn't better than the public. This is of course possible because, being a smaller hospital and being more expensive than the public ones, they can afford it.
  18. started playing Hearts of Iron 2 again.. Time to go ballistic on the Allies!
  19. If you want scary, then try turning your face upside down.
  20. The Canadian and French public healthcare is actually pretty good from what I've heard.
  21. you could yearbook your avatar..
  22. Ok.. That is pretty dorky.. But I still think I look more nerdy than you. Anyone else want to give it a go? There's fabulous prices at stake..
  23. heh.. In these situations I always turn to Douglas Adams.
  24. I know you can't carbon copy our system and just implement it into the American infrastructure. But I think they could easily have a good public health care system, that works in tandem with their well developed private sector..
  25. excuse me? the private sector is already running health care in the US (mostly), and it's better here than anywhere else. public education sucks, which is why charter schools are becoming so popular (and private schools already perform the same or better for less overall cost than public schools). private anything (mostly) is simply more efficient, providing the same or better solution for less cost. it's not just convincing evidence, it is overwhelming. what, you're saying it is moral to take from those that have and give to those that don't? violating one person's rights to favor another's? where do you get your morals from? rights are not rights if they favor one person over another. my only "responsibility" is to not infringe upon the rights of another. that is the only "moral" position, as any other creates exceptions that give more rights to the many while sacrificing the rights of the few. "there's more of us so we're in the right!" taks I think Northern Europe is a good example of public healthcare and school systems working very well. We have tried privatizing certain areas, like waste disposal and public cleaning, to great effect. So I definitely see the benefits - but to me it's infititely more humane to have free healthcare - so even the mentally ill (who can't keep a job), homeless, poor one parent families (who are struggling as it is without insurance) and everyone else can go to a good doctor in a good hospital and get fixed, no matter what their income is. And I'm proud to pay my 41% taxes to help out these people. Our biggest problem right now is not quality, but waiting lists - to that effect the few private hospitals in Denmark are taking in patients, while the public health insurance still covers it. I'm very much against making the entire sector private, but a few private hospitals can work to increase the overall quality and serve as an alternative to those who would rather pay for better service. So to me, a combination of both private and public, with an emphasis on public, is the best solution imo.
