  1. Honestly, I didn't realize just how bad BG looked until after playing Pillars and Pillars 2. But yeah, it's *definitely* looking it's age now.
  2. What's up with this random boulder in the middle of nowhere in Baldur's Gate? I guess don't go in the woods, kids.
  3. I really prefer having one protagonist over multiple video games that carry through decisions from prior games. It makes me feel more invested in the character and I enjoy seeing the overall story of that character over time.
  4. Surprisingly, I'm actually playing a lot of Anthem. It's quite enjoyable.
  5. I assume those were different playthroughs, because 'good' and 'with the Chorus' kind of...do not work together. Yes true ture, but well with the Chorus - maybe somewhere in between, so many ways to end that story yeah? You can actually reform the Chorus into full-on good guys in the ending credits if you make the right specific choices!
  6. I've really enjoyed Tyranny quite a lot. I've done four or five complete playthroughs with every faction and enjoyed it every time. That said, the combat is most certainly not the primary focus of the game; it's a little more on the Planescape side of the equation, where the story, setting, and characters are more the focus than the combat. It's not as much towards that side as Planescape was, but definitely more that direction than Pillars.
  7. Absolutely, this would be fantastic. As it is, I hardly ever use walls because I can *never* get one placed usefully.
  8. Have you checked that the Window Mode is still set to "Fullscreen"? If it is... try to set it to Windowed -> Apply Changes -> Fullscreen -> Apply Changes. Maybe it will reset it. Otherwise you could try: ctrl+shift+esc (to open task manager) -> find Windows Explorer -> right click on it and restart. Do this while in game. I had the same problem, and ending then restarting Windows Explorer solved it, permanently.
  9. They have the knowledge and power to *forge* another god, I believe. And I feel like the Godlike are the product of their manipulation of souls in that manner. But reproduction in the way it's thought of by mortals? I doubt it.
  10. I will pre-order. I've enjoyed every single Obsidian game they've ever made, so I trust that I'll dig this one, too. Just the basic version on Steam, though. I'm poor lmao
  11. I'm in Ashen Maw fighting the dragon, and five times now I've had to end the fight and restart when near the dragons death because one of my characters get's terrorized, runs around, and get's stuck--they can't move past an obstacle and just keep trying, with the turn never changing while they're trying to move. Really, incredibly frustrating.
  12. It instantly gives you another turn within the same round, it's just that second turn doesn't let you do anything except move. Not super useful for the build I've got, unfortunately.
  13. So I use Crushing blow, and indeed it let's me go again immediately afterwards--except that I can't do anything except move. All my abilities say "ability already used" and I can't even do a basic attack. Is this "as intended" or is this a bug? It seems pretty much utterly useless is the thing.
  14. I like Xoti. I think we could get along great if only I could convince her the gods are worthless constructs created by ****ty people.
  15. Why would anybody decide to make new gods with animancy when nobody understands or knows that the gods are constructs made with animancy?
  16. The walking bug is the only serious problem I've encountered, and it's not game breaking--just *super* annoying.
  17. And then in console RPG's you'd hit that section where they split the party and you had to play through part of the game with your underleveled party in crap gear.
  18. So that it will automatically download while I sleep and I won't have to waste that chunk of time.
  19. I trust Obsidian to make a good game with or without romances. They make good games, period. And the idea that flirting with an NPC as part of a romance portion of a game has anything to do with "feeling better" is about as accurate as the idea that combat, exploration, inventory management, or quest completion have anything to do with "feeling better".
  20. I like romances in video games. It allows a deeper exploration of the characters and the relationship between them and the protagonist. Yeah, it's not always perfect, but no aspect of a video game ever is.
  21. I hope someday we can live in a world where money doesn't matter. I hope someday we can live in a world where people play games without giving a **** about how much money they make because it doesn't actually matter *TO YOU OR YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THE GAME*.
  22. I can see his point perfectly well. The narrative is only new once, and since it contains no surprises, why repeat it? Yes, and if the game was narrowly focused on the narrative that would make sense. But it's not--it's an open-world game that focuses much more on sidequests. The narrative may not contain anything new the second time around, but you may find new islands, new quests, allying with a different factions creates a whole different side story, etc.
