went with that r9 380 because 2gb texture ram on the tgx950 didn't seem like a lot.

Build Thread 2.0
Saw a thread where a guy had tried both the m.2 slot and the PCI card with a board in the same family as mine and the latter was faster. Also the PCI 2.0 slot is only x1. From what I can se there are 5 long slots in my board , 2 PCI 3.0 , 2 PCI 2.0 and a legacy PCI. Also two short ones, PCI 2.0x1 Those are the ones sharing a bandwith with the M.2 slot.

I'm getting slow m.2 results. About 1/3 of what I expected in Crystaldisk. Board supports Sata6gb and PCI mode but states that these may be CPU dependent. I can only chose PCI mode in the bios. Maybe that's because the card only does PCI, not sure. The slots the m.2 slot shares bandwith with are pci express 2.0, and the m.2 card supports PCI express 3.0x4. I can only suppose this is the bottleneck. Can I use a PCI extention card with the m.2 disk in one of the PCIex 3.0 slots, would that help ? Edit : the answer appears to be yes, I was worried that there was a controller chip in the mix or something making it impossible unless the MB supported it.

EU send Ukraine GTFO
They just used the opportunity to vote no to the EU, it's not like anyone had a clue what a 1000 page trade agreement contained. the EU is suffering a PR low because of the refugee crisis.

Bizzarely the fans make more noise in intervals once every 20 mins or so for approximately 30 seconds with the temp steady at 28 degrees than they did when I set the CPU to 100% for 3 - 5 minuites. Maybe something is just having a hard time accepting that the CPU fan is at 400-470 rpm and thinks something is wrong. During the stress test the CPU got to 32 degrees and was likely still rising when I closed it, but rising very slowly. I'm well pleased that it could stave off CPU temps for so long. EDIT> nevermind. Opened the case and stuck my ear to the board, it's the power supply doing that. Don't know why I'm running the case open and obsessing about every little noise lol.

Success. Windows boots up in the blink of an eye.

Installed what I have. Thermal paste came out like diarrhea and did not at all resemble the perfect sphere in the instructions. Why can't they make a dispenser that gives you the exact amount you need. used the silent CPU fan cable extensions and set the fans to silent mode in the BIOS. Temps stabilised at 28 degrees. Pretty impressive for air I'd say. The m.2 is not detected in windows, hoping a bios update will fix that.

Panama papers leak
Hiding money to conceal ownership isn't illegal. Besides, you can't assume they are all tax evaders, even though they probably are. The papers would be exposing themselves to libel from hundreds of habitual and recreational plaintiffs.

Sooo... what GPU to get. So far I've ordered : Asus z97 pro gamer. It was reduced price and I was able to confirm that there were no clearance issues with the ginormous CPU cooler. It also had a nicer audio chip than the cheaper offerings. Nocturna ND 15 cpu cooler. Not strictly necessary, but reducing peak noise from the CPU cooler was attractive. So was the price .Max fan RPM mode comes in at under 30 db. if you believe their stats. Samsung 950 Pro 512 gb m.2. I consider this a future investment. Two aging non SSDs make up my bulk storage. So, do I get a mid range card like an r9 390 or a GTX 970 or I just get whatever and save as much money as I can while I wait for a suitable GPU offering.

Panama papers leak
Story is breaking big across Europe and the papers are loving it. All despite the secret Bilderberg/Illiuminati meetings with all the western CEOs and political leaders it seems. One thing about big scoops. When they get big enough they generally trump the editorial line and whatever proprietorial influence applies. Anyway, seems like the tax hideout was something favored by rich individuals rather than multinationals, who are probably much too smart to ever be caught out like this. Though not for any pressing ethical considerations I'm sure.

Panama papers leak
https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2016/04/corporate-media-gatekeepers-protect-western-1-from-panama-leak/ I'll wait until all the data has been released, if ever. They got it from a German newspaper, and believe me there is nothing they would like more than to expose the dirty secrets of western corporations. If this had been leaked to a Russian newspaper, do you really think any of them would have remained un-arrested for very long. 2,6 terabytes worth of files if I recall. You need a small army of reporters.

I suppose if Batman had died they would have had to pay Frank Miller something.

Bat V S You gotta have Superman, sure, but less is better. Seems like the entire movie is that two minute plug for another movie at the end of a Marvel movie. The scene where DC rolls out their portfolio of 'meta humans' read 'not mutants' is just laughable. Aquaman ??? lols. What the hell is Aquaman doing in a Batman movie. 5 seconds was too much. There is PLENTY to do if you are trying to make a convincing confrontation between Batman and Superman and they cut corners making it less believable just so they could spend time plugging Justice League. You don't need a contrived reason for Superman to fight Batman, you DO need to make the audience believe the contest of wills between the two. They made too much of Batman branding people like a kid with a magnifying glass. Batman is not vengeful or a sadist, he uses fear to get inside their heads. That theatrical aspect of Batman where he becomes more powerful because you believe in the spectacle he creates is absolutely essential to who he is.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/a-rare-interview-frank-miller-871654 I think it's going to be a great time to be a cartoonist. You can't come up with a greater buffoon than Donald Trump. The fact that he thinks he can be president of the United States is one the best jokes I've read in a long time. At least I hope.

Grew up in a comic book shop more or less. Haven't kept up though. It's an expensive habit.

Whatever happened to Bill Pulman, is he retired or something. Dr Strange could be good. Fingers crossed. That track remind you of this or is it just me.

I never cared about the Marvel - DC rivalry. Mostly because I considered superhero stuff less interesting than fantasy/graphic novel stuff. Notable exceptions aside of course. Generally I would pick the best of either and never notice whether it was published by DC or Marvel.

Political Philosophy in Comics
Well. Young people tend to be idealistic and left leaning. Old people become conservative and jaded once they realise they aren't going to change anything. Just how the world works not attempting political commentary here. Everyone wants the 18-25 demographic, but overtly political storylines are just boring. I don't think attacking the establishment even counts as political. It's just one of the features of the establishment, being under constant critique from the arts. Comic books can take more risks than movies and when they do it sometimes pays off in grand style. V for Vendetta, The Watchmen. Even though Moore is probably at bit past it now those were seminal works and back when they came out everyone I knew had read them. Our parents had their Dylan albums, we had our graphic novels.
