One thing that does annoy me endlessly is that now there will be no Dark Knight Returns movie, because they will already have done it. Poorly. It's a pain only those who hated the LotR movies will understand.
-
I think I'll go see it anyway.

Manual states that expansion cards have to inhabit pci slot no 2 first, in other words it can't be unpopulated if I want to use any of the PCI slots. that's the one that's broken. Bummer.
-
Core i7 4770k and an MSI Z87-chipset. Only one choice left for PCIe because the card takes up two slots. Can fit it in the middle slot but it won't boot. The lower slot kinda collides with the PSU.

Haswell and Skylake are on different sockets I take it ?. I hate having to replace old stuff, would much rather be upgrading. Probably not worth it though. Maybe I'll just play ****ing solitare until the new 14 nm cards are out.

No joy, a few of them are bent slightly, they don't line up.
-
From what I can see it also acts as a guide for the pins. Now I have a row of exposed pins on the motherboard and the flat end of the GFX meant to go in between. The smallest adjustment could bring them out of alignment. Could try to see if it will fit back on since it looks like it went off clean without damaging the pins.
-
Actually now that I look at it nothing looks broken or bent. Two sets of pins have come loose securing the plastic clip with a little lever on it that you use to secure the card. Is that meant to come off maybe ? No I guess not https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/1cb3jv/troubleshooting_the_plastic_part_on_my_pci_slot/ Annoying. I feel like the thing could have been constructed with a bit more durability. Didn't use that much force but the card was still snagged on the clip maybe.

Went and did a stupid thing. Was taking out my GFX for a dust cleaning and the card being really big and not being able to feel what I was doing used too much force and yanked a piece of plastic off the board. The top PCI e x16 slot is now a dud. I remember reading somewhere that the card needed to be in the top slot if in a single card configuration, and sure enough it wont start up with the GFX in one of the lower PCI slots. It says crossfire on the board so logically there should be more than one compatible slot. Maybe it's hardware and I really did a number on the board but it will only boot with the monitor in the Integrated graphics slot and the GFX out. As recently discussed this is a really bad time to be shopping for a GFX. 4k being still pretty expensive and also my goal if I want to upgrade. Sooo I'm looking at a ****ty placeholder card, a 4k monitor and another mobo maybe. Not wise to try and stick a new GFX in there having done violence to the board.

Browsers are hardware accelerated now a days. I had several system locks and it took a while to figure out it was caused by the combination of google Chrome and an AMD driver update. So yeah, don't necessarily use the latest version.

I'm guessing someone wanted to do Dark Knight returns or a similar slant on the story and was shot down by the studio. That's what I saw in the trailer, even down to batman's plate armor style. In Dark Knight Batman is basically Dirty Harry fighting to win no matter the cost, Superman is a 'yes man' taking orders from the president. So they set themselves up for the recreation of one of the best Batman series ever and of course people were disappointed. I haven't seen it of course, but they were probably too careful in maintaining the image of their prized possessions for anything interesting to come out of it.

And I'm curious what constitutes a win scenario for the EU, since they aren't dialing down their immigration policies and the entire handling of the refugee crisis was bizarre from the start. Never have I seen nominally powerful nations with so little control over what happens at their borders. What are we hoping for here? To destroy ISIS? So what, a new ISIS will emerge somewhere else under some other name. Relocate and reeducate the entire ME? lol wut We wanted to help to begin with. Clearly we underestimated the challenge. Now there is a deal with Turkey, you might have noticed. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/refugee-deal-between-turkey-and-eu-sparks-chaos-on-greek-islands-a6943066.html

I'm curious as to what constitutes a win scenario for the bombers. They must have a strategy. Perhaps they think European ground forces in Syria would lead to a favorable outcome. That would make it easier to sell the whole race/culture war. Maybe they want muslims and immgrants in Europe to experience more discrimination, escalating internal unrest. Maybe they just forgot why along the way.

so what's the other kyojin ass crack person ?

The baldness is not what matters anyway. It's whether you look good in profile. If you have the bump where your skull meets your neck in the right place it looks Jason Statham and you're all good. If not Either way you are easier to draw.

If he was a woman he would so be a feminist.

I don't remember shopping for a monitor ever being this hard. Don't care about 4k gaming since the gfx you would have to get is still too expensive. I would take the jump and upgrade just to have a 4k desktop, but which one. My current GFX doesn't support 4k. My built in HD graphics would, but that would be terrible performance wise even in 2d.
-
Not going to be an early adopter here when there is not even a AAA title made specifically for VR on the horizon yet. They are pretty pricey and you pay that amount again to upgrade your GFX to run one. 900 Pounds for the HTC in Europe. We always get screwed like that. Oculus haven't even bothered with an EU reseller so you pay like 20% extra for shipping and extra xbox controllers.

I dunno, does anyone other than republicans really care about that. Maybe they should, it's just that it seems to have played out much like Obama's citizenship among supporters.
-
Actually they have both had the lead. Long time ago, but AMD ruled the (CPU) world in the 90s. They were given permission by intel to create x86 processors so Intel's buyers would still have a source for chips if say the intel plant got leveled in an earthquake or something. True story. Certain compilers are designed to run better on Intel hardware than AMD, it's kinda like what NVidia does with physics and god-rays. etc. They want their proprietary tech to run on everything, but run much better on their hardware.

I pity the republicans. I guess we were all expecting the joker candidates to be replaced by more centrist candidates capable of appealing to a larger group of people. Sanders is 'out' and Trump... won ?. How can they not give him the nomination now. We don't really know what he's going to do as president. I don't think he does himself, he just wants to get to fly around in air force one.
