  1. Watched a lot of e3 Ubisoft cringe. They finally killed off Ghost Recon by making it into every Ubisoft game ever. South Park is back. I don't think Ubisoft will manage to screw that up. The start trek VR game, totally, it's Ubisoft remember.
  2. I wonder how that's going to go down with Isis. Will be kicked out of paradise now for being a conflicted gay man. It isn't uncommon that homophobic people go in gay clubs and look people from dating apps and sites that are meant for gays. And it isn't also uncommon that this behavior eventually leads escalation where said people start assault and even kill gays. And it is also common that in these cases people believe that these criminals just could not handle fact that they are gay, but usually there isn't no other evidence than their fascination towards thing that they clearly hate that there is anything gay in them. Usually people that show behavior where they become more and more fascinated with target of their hate and eventually escalating to violence towards target is called stalking but in cases like this people often jump in conclusion that person just could not handle being gay. Which may be because they think that it is insulting towards said homophobic criminals or because it works as easy explanation for that person's violent behavior, but this both things are quite problematic for people that were targeted by these criminals hatred. That's possible I guess. But he was on several gay social media. I took that to mean he had a profile. If you have a profile, I mean ods are you are gay.
  3. I know, it's funny that he was simultaneously one of 'the brothers' in the struggle according to Isis propaganda and a gay man. They won't be milking it anymore.

  5. They don't have another choice. It's not like they could sue for peace and secure their gains in Syria. All they have is the PR potential of terrorist attacks and being seen as fighting the west.
  6. Hate to dispute any point about Gun Control in the USA but if we honest I dont think a terrorist attack by an ISIS affiliate is about the availability of guns? Because this type of person has made his mind up to attack the USA, so the getting of a gun will just be a formality But the other various shootings were about easy gun control, like Sandy Hook? 'Affiliate' that just means some moron who wanted his 15 minuites of fame. Who knows why anyone does anything. Whether his dog spoke to him and told him to kill, or God. Same difference.
  7. Gun control legislation won't work because it won't be ambitious enough. If you could somehow dismantle the entire domestic market of the firearms industry and make them illegal to trade between individuals, ad several more extreme measures, I am certain that mass shootings will go down. That's not what the american people want though. So, this is the price you pay for the wide gun satuation and availability. Don't pretend that shootings have nothing to do with the availability of guns though, that's a peculiar American delusion that annoys me every time I hear it.
  8. Are people playing it. I was never able to join a game without crashing.
  9. The leveling ruined Witcher for me. It's when the leveling becomes part of the gameplay loop and the reward system that things start to go wrong. The next level is always around the corner, otherwise the player will lose interest. The thing is, leveling alone is not enough to make me want to play on, and it ruins so much in the constant focus on new loot and becoming 1% better every 15 minuites.
  10. That doesn't change my point though. Tabletop and PC are not the same experience. Having only melee units tends to deprive you of something. What did Napoleon say about artillery 'the real focus of the battle' or something.
  11. The spells are pretty lackluster. I can't really tell how much hp damage they do but often not enough to kill a single man in a unit. Shadow of the horned rat and the sequel, I can't remember the name, did this much better.
  12. I had the same experience. My HD series card died shortly after updating to Crimson. Pink lines and artifacting a few reboots and some more pink artifacting and, dead. Quite likely temperature related.
  13. It makes no sense to refer to different compendiums of warhammer that were all released 20 years ago as seperate from the game Imho. These are missing : I mean, who in their right mind would play 1e D&D
  14. Not limited as in too difficult, limiting as in not as interesting having to grind your way in every battle as opposed to having both good attack and defend options. Havent really given the Vampire faction a chance though.
  15. So I've played two campaigns. Imperial and Dwarf. Played until it became obvious that I would beat it and then called it a win. As Dwarf I felt like I wasn't allowed to play the game but was relegated to only fighting orks since I can't capture settlements. Mayjor disappointment. They let the lore overshadow the strategic experience. The empire experience was a little better. A few things : Enemy agent actions are too anoying, make them succeed a lot less and the consequences be more serious when they do. One of my generals was being sent home wounded every turn. The chaos invasion that was foreshadowed three or four times with cutscenes and everything. I got to fight chaos once or twice then I had just somehow won. Apparently one of my allies beat the chaos lord's avatar ?. Never got to fight chaos as dwarves. Started to play as Vampire counts but then I noticed they had no missile troops and though that's going to be too limiting. Dumb choice, I had high hopes for that campaign.
  16. Bloodlines was so awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cn-O1HmlvgI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSFtnVGSY00
  17. Mother****ing ****sucking Deadwood. And he was just there to set up the hound to feud with the brotherhood.
  18. He's a smart guy, You can watch this just to hear his side of the EU debt restructuring story.
  19. I would not say that, that link to their 'wiki' is totally useless, Paradox done it much better The in game wiki is pretty useless. Loads too slow and the information is poorly presented. I can't see all the pertinent details without scrolling.
  20. I\m starting to understand that the reason I keep losing my campaigns (hard or very hard) There is not really a substitute for upgrading all your cities in a province. I would chase after raiders and invaders with my big stack with my best general and rarely ever catch up. You can't use the terrain to block off access either, maybe the engagement range is increased for ambush mode ? many races can use the underway or boats to get to their objective so it becomes impossible to engage without being the attacker, and that's a real challenge depending on your difficulty. The crucial first step is engaging your enemies provinces that aren't your own, so you can have a resource base that isn't constantly being raided.
  21. Are there siege defences, maybe there are and my walls have just invariably been destroyed by eneny agents whenever that was supposed to have happened.
  22. I doubt very much that a 'better deal' will emerge from trade negotiations. Once the UK leaves they can re enter the common market on their own terms, like Sweden and Iceland for instance. There is no indication that this would better her situation or make up for the losses of leaving. It's populism pure and simple. The unpopularity of the enormous bureaucracy, the refugee crisis, the sense that jobs are being lost because 'foreigners' who are more attractive to employers are being hired in a number of industries. They might manage to elect Boris Johnson PM but we are all going to lose on the deal. If it were a pressing matter of principle why haven't they left 10 years ago.
  23. We are still wheeling from an economic recession, weak growth everywhere. A paltry 1% in Denmark last year and the English want their freedom. Can't have that, too costly. The scaremongers have oversold their point, lets just hope people understand that there actually IS a point and a serious cost to just picking up and leaving.
  24. The battlemaps seem a little small compared with Total war. I havent played any sieges yet but those had fleets and infrantry converging. I'm expecting the same. So far the setup seems to be engage immediately, no attempt to make use of terrain during deployment. No terrain to speak of at all actually other than 'the high ground' but it's early days. I'm expecting objectives and maneuvering, buildings that can be occupied. Weak selection of units. This being warhammer and all we want hundreds rather than 10 or so once everything has been upgraded. The models are so so. The orcs in particular are ugly. Ugly as in bad design, not really their fault, there are a lot of bad waaarg models. I just feel they could have looked at the huge potential from the model painting scene and picked better ones for reference.
  25. Looks very warhammerish. I assume there is city and region management like in Rome TW once the tutorial releases its clammy hands off my units and choices.
