The story is really terrible, but before you find out how terrible the game is you actually do get a lot of hours of fun just exploring. So I guess that's.... good ?

NPCs sometimes walk back. You teleport. Hence it takes them a while to get there. There are also a lot of places for them to hide in sanctuary.

Possible to unbind mouse buttons for Dragon Age: Origins?
Gorgon replied to yupper's topic in Computer and Console
Every gamer needs a macro programmable mouse. There are lots to chose from. As for dual function buttons, maybe, if you dig around in the ini files and get lucky. Backup first of course. -
I remember Doctor Strange. Surpisingly cool once you got into it and I was never much of a Marvel/superhero kinda comic fan. Occult detective was a recurring theme. He doesn't solve problems with fireballs, although he can do that too.

VATs is boring. It's a concession to console peasants. Now that the shooting mechanics are tolerable I'd rather have it gone. Or maybe make it a one shot spectacular with a long cooldown.

I hate losing my cool. I lost my cool today, won't bore you with the details but I gave a stranger the finger like an 8 year old. Now come the endless recriminations and cool comebacks that I could have used in a sudden flash of inspiration. Where were you when I needed you sudden flash.

I loved the Xcom reboot but this just looks, i dunno, all over the place with no clear direction. I hope they ditch the strategy world map minigame. Could be good though, hard to tell.

Humans are unique surely by being the first species with the potential to survive an extinction event.

I don't think it's reasonable to equate academic achievement to intelligence either, considering how many are without those opportunities.

Yeah those objections are valid. They have gotten better at making the tests though.

So... the eugenics people were right all along. The world will be ruled by whoever starts gassing the stupid first. I bet you could raise the national IQ by quite a bit by making a cut off point in the scoring under which you would be made into lampshades.

Certainly falls below Skyrim anyway. What\s that saying. You are only as good as your last release. The quest structure is generally pretty bad. Maybe a problem with their tools ?. They certianly had enough time to work on that. Tried playing again recently but I didn't finish this time either. Maybe it's the general mood. Can't figure out what it's supposed to be. It's neither funny or gloomy. The NPCs are pretty non engaging. They have a defining characteristic. I am a Ghoul, BOS knight, Girl with a scottish accent, whatever, and a few lines of back story that are given out painfully slowly if you meticulously suit your playstyle to do whatever gameplay action they like. They are a chore you feel like you have to go through to see if there is anything interesting on the other side. There isn't.

You can't really equate one year of mild weather or this or that storm with global warming. I've never had much patience for people who didn't believe climate change was man made for no other reason than that it suited them to do so. It's just that it reminds me of a story about the recent climate talks where the reporter mentions that it is hot for this time of year. That's just irrelevant information. It's not a sample size that can be held up against data, it's just one tiny data point.

With the ****ty dialouge system I don't actually hold out much hope that anything they put out is going to measure up to what I would consider an RPG. It feels like they took 1\2 borderlands and 1\2 fallout 3 and mixed it up, for better or worse. The gunplay is much better. An RPG though is more than items and levels. What's the point of talking to anyone when what you say so rarely matters.

I used to live near a high school and there was a bomb threat every exam season like clockwork. You know, exams had to be postponed etc. Aren't you people about to close for the holidays, deadlines, term papers and whatnot.

Built 5 matresses in the middle of the street for the squatters who came to take over my home and they thanked me for it. Then proceeded to completely surround the red rocked truck stop with bridge sections and built a commanding tower on the roof. So far no hostiles have gotten through, probably because they spawn too far away, but trashcan Carla's brahmin get's stuck in the barricade every once in a while. Once had a caravan guard doing the pathfinding error dance for several days until he simply vanished. Got a bum I found in Diamond City to come tend the garden. Happiness is in the high 80s, not sure what I did to merrit that.

It's from from an episode of Southpark. Cartman convinces Butters he has been a coma for 200 years and survived the apocalypse, so he can get to go to Cassa Bonita for Kyles birthday instead of Butters. Some of the lines are the same. Meant to be in there for a gag I'm sure. Just terrible though.

It occurs to me as a non-American that the setting of Fallout 4 isn't exactly familiar, and that may contribute to the difficulty of getting into the game. Things I know about Boston: It's somewhere in the top right corner of the US, and has a harbour that may or may not taste somewhat tea-like. I couldn't name a single landmark, be able to recognise the general architecture, or know anything about the weather (though I'd guess it gets pretty snowy). This is in sharp contrast to Vegas and DC (sort of, I know it has, uh, the White House, and that obelisk) in the immediately preceding Fallout games, and would be the case with cities like New York, Miami, New Orleans and San Francisco for example. If I wanted to see what Boston was like from a movie portrayal, I wouldn't even know what to watch, whereas say Philadelphia, a city I'd consider equally unremarkable, I can at least get a feel for by watching Rocky. Screw Paul Revere and John Han****, it's not the tiniest bit interesting and it all feels forced and stupid. It didn't in FO3 as far as I remember. Anyway where is robot George Washington with 8 go and fetch quests before his barge can cross the Delaware.

Well, you could just build a rad shelter and whenever there was a rad storm settlers would go there, or otherwise stick to the ababdoned houses. You could script that into NPC behavior surely.

Fallout 4 is coming soon.. is there a new OB Fallout Scheduled?
Gorgon replied to dava4444's topic in Computer and Console
Ditch him in camp and romance him by modding your guns and armor, works for Codsworth and whatshisface from the railroad as well. Well minus the romance. -

Had my first CTD while scrapping a building of all things. Remarkably stable until now though never crapped out on me while I was testing what settings I could bump up to ultra. -

At this point I wouldn't put it past them...but I don't think so. I just wish they'd let us totally disable the whole shoddily written mess that is romance You sure he has one ? -

I'm sure most of the publishers would rather have the entire install base to be on the latest version and that's that. What about what I want though. Why doesn't steam have a version rollback function with all the useless fluff features they have accumulated over the years. Also, why are there no patch notes, don't people do that anymore. -

It's just painful when you can feel the architecture messing with your enjoyment of the game so clearly. Obviously it is possible to make seperate conditions on the outcome of specific missions. If the main thrust of the plot is that you are undercover and the usual quest structure plainly does just not work for that. Well, it's just lazy. -

What makes it even stranger is that it is in my estimation the most likely player choice that will lead you on missions where all the ememies are only hostile to your companion. If you solo you can just hack them down while they stand there and take it. I wonder why. There are lots of options to make it work. If there was a real risk and a consequence to blowing your cover, if you had to chase down witnesses, if someone blackmailed you. So, are they just rubbish at coding ? what's the explanation.
