When people say things like 'free speech is not a licence to slander', or that free speech has to be used 'responsibly' I think they are missing the point. Surely that's exactly what it is. You take the good with the bad and let people say what's on their minds, offensive, crazy, whatever, but most of all free speech.

My favorite combo is the regular minigun + launcher. Launcher for indirect fire, minigun for few reload breaks, doesn't need to spool up, can deal with anything. Speed doesn't matter half as much as being able to mow down anything that pursues you

Well S. Korea did invite a bunch of experts to investigate the incident. It all happened in a very charged atmosphere, but I tend to think they did their jobs. They must have taken current mine design into account when they ruled it out. Of course they could have gotten it wrong, but a N. Korean attack seems like a very likely explanation given the amount of military activity in the area.

I was watching a documentary on Henry Kissinger and it was interesting to hear him talk about the Tonkin bay incident. Basically for nearly two days the US was not certain whether it had been attacked at all. Obviously technology has improved a lot since then, but fog of war is still a factor and facts can be lost through the chain of command.

Mines and torpedoes give off different kinds of explosions. Mines need to be triggered by contact while torpedoes explode prior to impact to maximize the effect of the explosion. Looking at the wreckage experts can tell them apart. So, no mine strike.
