I pretty much always forgo lasers for mechs instead and maybe a shiv or two. It's a dead end after all once you start on gauss. I think there should be some kind of reward for doing laser, like a bonus scope. It did help a bit that long war made lasers more accurate like in the original game so they still have their uses for soldiers with very low aim.

I'm playing classic and I find I'm forced to reload a lot. Before I got power armor it was practically every round. Normal ironman is probably the better choice. I'm down to four remaing council countries largely because there have been no spare resources to develop better interceptors so I get terror attacks which always cost panic. If I cant build the firestorm in time I will lose. Countires come back with an almost full panic bar so I can't do very many base missions. This is due to a bug where after 20 messages of a country leaving the council the game will crash on message nr 21.

He got his back injury lifting. You could say it killed him because the painkiller overdose was definately related. I'm guessing it looked good on camera and gave him a boost to do the shoot if he pumped rigth before.

If you are not a confused teenager who doesn't know anything about life, if you dont have 5 children who are going to starve without you you get to check out whenever you want with no recriminations. Just my opinion.

The way I heard it they have a puddle on the top of their heads and if it dries out, they die. Got to the the most useless mythical creature ever.

Both Tom Hardy and Charlze Theron have major 'serious actor' creds. Interesting to see if they are going to try and flex some of those muscles for this.

Useless information. Unless you're blind of course in which case it's too little information. I got a text today from the workers making parking lines on the street asking everyone to pay attention to the temporary signs. I got a text about a sign. In my street. Felt like strangulating something.

I dunno. Israel was kept out of both gulf wars because there was a real fear that the US would lose all it's other ME allies if she was invited to the party. Sadam even launched SCUD missiles hoping that Israel would take the bait. That was a long time ago but it would not be an underestimation to say that Israel is culturally completely isolated in the ME. She has tried for a strategic relationship with Turkey, but Islamism (I don't mean militant Islam as such) is in the ascendancy there. Remember the PM and his ludicrous twitter and FB crackdown.

I hope Israel does not retreat entirely into the 'us against the world' stance that has been kinda guiding its self image since the 6 day war and Yom Kippur war. In a sense it's true that it has to look for its own defense, but I'm just not convinced that Hamas poses any kind of real threat for the existence of Israel. Both sides have stared themselves blind to solutions ensuring that the conflict will last for generations more.

Unconditional surrender mattered because it meant no negotiations with the Axis of any kind. The same stance taken against Napoleon. Stalin was worried Germany would give up enough to ensure peace on the western front. The invasion of China was what made the Japanese position completely untenable, not the bombs, at least not to Japanese leadership, the full scale of the bombs were not apparent right away. They served two purposes, ensuring a Japanese surrender with no ground campaign in Japan, and a message to Stalin that the US was ready to use it. was it necessary in the sense that there would have been no surrender without the bombs, probably not. Starvation would have done the job just as effectively. Considerations for the lives of Japanese civilians was pretty far down the line.

Just a cursory google search acually produced hits warning against it. Swithcing sectors to improve performance is done automatically in the background on SSDs. Just delete, unless it's filled with system files and it wont let you. I shouldn't think stuttering in game would happen when it isn't reading from disk.

Who exactly are 'The West' here. If you mean several countries acting in concert to plan and execute Maidan, I don't buy it. US meddling to increase the likelyhood of a favorable result, I consider that as likely as Russian meddling.

Well the IDF isn't going to be defeated on the home front either. They are very much in it for the duration. If the Palestineans want to undermine confidence in the current administration and eventually turn popular opinion with them they sure are going about it the wrong way.

The EU is not in the business of backing coup detat. Following the first enlargement of the EU eastwards the EU started laying the groundwork for further inclusions, for those who wanted it of course. Ukraine was torn appart by its own indecisvieness about where it wanted to belong geopolitically. Where you see sinister machinations and a joint EU forgein policy I'm afraid all there is is bureaucracy and indecisiveness. Owing to it's construction the EU is perhaps the political entity least capable of unilateral action anywhere in the world.

The difference there is that there is no tactic that is going to win it for them militarily. So one could wonder why they don't start getting smart about it.

They gain popularity by being seen as fighting the IDF, and they're in too deep now, Hamas, they can't stop without a major win or they will lose support over their rocket offensive. IDF is much the same. 60 casualties for little gain, it doesn't take much logistic capacity to keep fireing homemade rockets from the rubble of Palestinean cities so Hamas is likely to run out of rockets before IDF action will prove decisive. Those 60 casualties need to have been 'for' something. Hence the destruction of infrastructure, power plants, 'symbolic' targets like government buidlings.

I'll give you an exanple. During the battle of Helms Deep Legolas says in desperation that he wished he had 200 mirkwood archers to stem the tide. Jackson just decided to include them in the movie, thus changing not only the dramatic context of a desperate defense but also the entire geopolitical situation of the elves leaving and not helping against Sauron (sans Legoas) That's too much artistic license, when it starts to change the underlying political premise of the books.

What, you're just playing, right. The girls definitely get their due, I can think of three mad, badass chicks off the top of my head, Eowyn, Arwen, Galadriel. Tauriel is a welcome addition, not a retcon. Retroactive continuity in LOTR is unpossible since it isn't ongoing serial storytelling. All six movies are essentially personal opinions, no reason to be injured by them. No canon were harmed in the making thereof. I'm saying Jackson retcons female characters into main story characters. I'm ok with that, but not with all the other additions. At some point it just stops being LotR, ot the Hobbit as it were, asnd starts being very expensive fan fiction.
-
Every retcon Jackson makes feels like a deep personal injury. I don't think I'll even go see it. Only exception I guess is the inclusion of more female characters. Tolkien is pretty behind the times there after all.

I kinda wish they had done the effects more old school. There is a certain look you can achieve if you just use stuntmen and no CGI.
