The What Are You Reading thread (now with a simpler name)
Sarex replied to Amentep's topic in Way Off-Topic
Could be, it doesn't help that it's the older style of Serbian either, that's why I said it with some reserve. On the other hand the first part of the book was all introspection, until one point where it just went back to normal pacing and book 3 feels much more like book 1 too. Either way I get why I completely spaced out on book 2 in the series. -

It was very late when I read the post. I was tired... Let's go with that excuse... -

Finished book 2. I read book 1 in Serbian and book 2 in English, so I can't say for sure, but it really does feel like a completely different approach to narrative, at least the first half of the book. Was it from the game? -

I just realized why I completely forgot that book 2 exists... Such a shift in narrative style from book 1. Depends on which books you want to read. https://dune.fandom.com/wiki/Marie_Fenring -

Tbh, the summary of the books until the end does seem interesting, that kind of gives me fuel to power through it, at least until that book. -

I could never get past book 5, but it has been quite a bit since I read it. Will try again. From what I see the last book came out 2 years ago. -
Uf...The animation budget must have ran out for this episode... That was a sharp drop in quality. Also what a strange place to cut the episode. I guess they still have one more and they wanted to fill it out a bit more.

It was pretty similar in the book too, if anything they showed more of the battles in the movie.

Reread Dune after watching the newest movie made me realize how much I had forgotten about the story. On to book 2. -
I am going through the books again, they pretty much say outright that Fremen manhandle the Sardaukar. Until these recent movies, Children of Dune of was my favorite rendition of it.

Episode 11 of Delicious in Dungeon. This episode marks the real start of the main story and it goes off with a bang. From here on out it's a wild ride.

Considering that magic discovery is what primarily interests her, I would say not very. More apt description would be lonely, I think.

Dune 2. Chef's kiss. I don't know why people are saying that the ending is open ended. They showed a lot of teasers for Dune 3 through the movie. Again I am wondering if he is crazy enough to try and do book 4.

The Gentlemen netflix series. If you like Guy Ritchie movies, you will love the series. At some point he will have to do some different though...then again maybe not. -

Safe travels. -
Delicious in dungeon has started touching upon the main story in the latest episode. Do wonder if the plan is to cover the whole manga, otherwise I can't think of a good spot to stop with the number of episodes they have.

Ah, well sadly that is not unique either. Grandma doesn't listen to a word we say. We beg, shout and plead, but it doesn't matter. Oh she will accept it and promise whatnot, but will then turn around and do whatever she wants. There is a good saying, we are born as children and we die as children. -

Strong personalities/people tend to be afraid of going down the road of slow decline and having to depend on someone else to help them do basic things and in some cases they are afraid of becoming a burden. My grandma is like that. She is strong as an ox, but sadly her heart is not up to the task anymore. But still she doesn't want to let up and does a lot of stuff day to day that wring her out by the end or simply crash her. On the one hand it's speeding up her demise, on the other it's keeping her occupied and alive. Her wish is a quick death and not a slow process that takes her down piece by piece. -

They will not destroy it, but maybe crash it. Which may not be a bad thing. -
Sadly those are the tame ones. I remember hearing about a video of some Russian teenager beating his wife who was sadly killed at a later date. There are a lot of death and violence videos that don't get removed. Instagram is even worse on this point, because it offers those videos in your feed.
