  1. And you could cast protection from weapons and those fights were countered too. Any fight can be cheesed and countered. Also it seems to me that your problem is with the AI and not the system it self. That is a whole other story though.
  2. Spot on MReed. At this point it would be beneficial for Josh to come out and say what he disliked about the IE games, or if that list is too long (as seems to be the case), what he liked about them. While it won't change anything, it will serve to inform the public and lessen any shock that would/will happen at release. I really think that what we were told in the KS was not the whole picture.

  4. Well when you consider that this whole situation is a copy/paste of how Milosevic's regime was put down (minus the bloodshed(though that is mainly do to how Milosevic handled the situation)), you can't really blame people for pointing fingers. Maybe in 10 years when the Obama files are made public you guys will accept who's fingers were in the pie. But I think I'm being overly optimistic.
  5. Because when they do get it right they choke their games out of any profit they have. Not only that, but they don't take to many risks any more, they figured out that they can just buy successful franchises and run them dry.
  6. Yes, yes it is. Any fight can be cheesed and countered.
  7. I disagree, I found that there are more then one way to deal with the "sucker punch" fights, as you call them. That people chose to follow guides with hard counters, well that is their prerogative, in fact any fight can be easy with the right counters.
  8. lol Or it's just a product that publishers weren't willing to invest in and we all know that publishers rarely get it right.
  9. Because your preferences are all that matters, right?
  10. That is your whole take away from what he said, sad...
  11. Interview about the new civ game. http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/04/12/civilization-beyond-earth-interview-everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-new-factions-aliens-technology-and-more/
  12. You say make money back, I'm not sure you understand what I mean. They will at the release of the game be in the black(unless they put some of their own money in the game), meaning that any copy of the game they sell will be profit. So 100k copies sold is pure profit. As for my definition, well for my expectations it's a major success. In my opinion the market for Isometric cRPGs right now is not that big, though I think there is room to grow.
  13. Depends on what kind of deal they made with Paradox, as for steam and gog I think you are overestimating their cut.
  14. If it sells 100k copies then it will be a major success. That means that they have a budget for the next game without a kickstarter and that it's a sustainable model. Anything above 100k is pure gravy.
  15. This will show if the Iso-cRPG model is sustainable or if it will never be more then a kickstarter funded game.
  16. I can't wait for the situations were you are almost at the end of the dungeon with low health searching for a rest spot and then bam the boss appears. Now that is a sucker punch.
  17. Also how would they fund the prolonged development? Or are you saying that they are keeping some money back for whatever reason?
  18. Meh, the closest thing to a space sim I enjoy are games like Homeworld and Sins of a Solar empire, but then again those are not space simulations. As for Star Citizen, well at least they showed something and we can now be reasonably sure it wasn't some form of a Pyramid scheme.
  19. But then that isn't what he was saying was it.
  20. Not to mention the people who claimed that the government is spying on it's own population were marred as crazy conspiracy theorist and were demeaned with caricatures of people with tinfoil hats. But hey, now it seems that everyone knew that the government was spying on them and no one is surprised... Generally people are idiots and aren't willing to put 2 and 2 thorougher for precisely the reasons Valsuelm's videos describe.
  21. http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/04/10/transistor-release-date-announced-is-sooner-than-you-think/ Can't wait.
  22. You think running a state is like playing a game? If they attack, well I'll just reload and prepare my border. Russia is preparing it's borders for any eventuality, it could be an attack force but more likely it's a defensive force. The government in Kiev is not, what you would call a beacon of stability and a lot of random **** could still happen. You would agree that common logic dictates that you shore up the borders with the country you are in conflict with.
