Crit-Path Encounter Scaling - Do you want it?
Prime is right - if optional content is needed to go further, than its not longer optional. YOU CAN'T HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT AT THE SAME TIME.

Population size
Don't assume that every inhabitant will be roaming the streets so you can see them. Some of the populace will be hanging inside the buildings, some will be conveniently in other areas than you at the moment, some will reside in areas that are inaccessible for you ingame (like districts of Athkatla not showing all of its places, opposite to BG which covered entirety of the city).

Character Rollaholic - Mea Culpa
Messier-31 replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I noticed that there's a lot of diacritics in some of the game's names. Will it be possible to use them while naming your character? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diacritic

Crit-Path Encounter Scaling - Do you want it?
It's all fun and games, until someone says "that last boss fight, oh man he was such a wuss". I believe that this will not spoil the gameplay just as there was a tidbit of level scaling in BG2. You did enjoy it, did you?

How hard is PoE going to be?
Ever since I graduated, started working, went on building a family and such, time I can spend playing games plummeted a great deal. Thus I thought "am I a casual gamer now?". But right now I'm seriously starting to think wether I should play easy or normal. Normal doesn't require consumables, you say? That would mean easy will be taking a candy from a baby.

PoE-saga MMORPG? Please?

Aren't you taking him for Chilloutman? Dude's been againts firearms all way round. I think that TrashMan over here just says that changing some stuff, like elven/dwarven stereotypes, just to be totally different than usual is not always a good thing. That or maybe I'm mistaken.- Loading screens
BG1 loading screens FTW - would love to see it in high-res.- Character Rollaholic - Mea Culpa
Messier-31 replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Has there been some intel about race/class limitations?- Why are you guys going to E3?
Sheesh. E3 is serious business; if you seriously want to stay in it, you need to attend events like this. Gawd.- Update #79: Graphics and Rendering
- Who joins your Party?
Or ALCHEMY for that matter.- Update 79 Camp-out thread
I dub thee workaholic To be honest I would pretty much like to see the ensemble of every race avatar standing next to each other. Not only we do not know what will the "new" races look like ingame but also it would give a good comparison between them. I have no more specific wishes regarding the graphic as I am too much of a layman in the topic, so everything new will be equally appreciated. Ooh, maybe someone will end the Kana Rua male/female dispute. Tell you what: if you're right I'll track you down in January-February next year (as I will be roaming the entire Down Under with my wife), and say some wise words of appreciation ("bravo, sir, bravo"). Otherwise, I'll throw pebbles at ya.- Who joins your Party?
And the reason magic and technology shouldn't coexist in PoE is what, according to you? Basically every world experiences some progress, magic or not. Firearms are present in the game, but are rare and uncommon. Things like printing press are most notably absent. Anyway - as you said, this is just your subjective feel. I, on the other hand, like where this is going. It resembles WHFR in a way probably only I perceive.- Who joins your Party?
I do understand - I think your feelings about the "issue" are exaggerated.- Update 79 Pushed Until 05/28
- Who joins your Party?
@Chilloutman @PrimeJunta I think that limiting oneself with less races/classes will be really dull. Suit yourself, though. Everyone will play the way that he or she desires.- Update 79 Pushed Until 05/28
- The 8 Companions
A placeholder then?- The 8 Companions
Maybe not 'Caroc' but 'Devil'. I admit that might be it, like from some legend of an offworld-y entity being a bitch somewhere near a settlement called Caroc. Peasants called it the 'devil' out of fear, prejudice and/or lack of knowledge. A godlike makes more sense now.- The 8 Companions
And the reason that the Devil of Caroc is male is? Don't get me wrong, but you make a lot of assumptions I think that the safest bet would be a human. Humans are the most typical race in all fantasy. Of course this just might be a good reason to break the conventions. - The cultures of Eora
