  8. Talking about voices... I know that PoE will have limited voice-acting, but what does it mean? Full voice-acting - like the one in Fallout New Vegas, all dialogue is recordedThis is not gonna happen so we are left with this: Limited voice-acting in Baldur's Gate style - party members talk, dialogues of most importance "talk", every NPC says a word or two when clicked upon Limited voice-acting in Icewind Dale style - party members talk, dialogues of most importance "talk", every NPC is mute Something else? I personally would like to see the BG-style, how about you? Dafuq, Kanye, gtfo, you're making my posts look even more miserable than they already are
  9. So much win... someone give this man some internets. Still, I prefer a party based game. Soloing is a challenge I find not worth the time and effort.
  10. In case someone doesn't uderstand what canting is; coat of arms of my hometown is a great example. City of Łódź, which literally means "Boat" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%81%C3%B3d%C5%BA Another example is from literature; the character Borch Three Jackdaws from the Witcher stories by Andrzej Sapkowski http://witcher.wikia.com/wiki/Borch
  11. Fantastic work you guys - wish I was home, so I could try it myself. More lore details in our game, exciting.
  12. Minor importance, I guess. You know, this is after all fantasy, not medieval reality. Thank you for the insight. I'm a bit surprised that there's no Readceras there, but even so there's a lot more to find out once the game's released. Cheers!
  13. ^ Agree I believe I once tried to play with at least two characters, but perceived a solo-run as a self-mutilation of some sort.
  14. Everyone loves details. According to the Wiki (http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/World) the said area is roughly the size of Spain.
  15. I bet most of you remember this concept graphic from a PP-presentation some time ago. What I find really vague is how far and wide will the game world of Eternity be? We all know the official world map, but I wonder which parts of it will be covered in the game. Although Obsidian needs to leave some of the world for the expanions and/or future projects, questions like "is the Durgan's Battery in our adventuring party's reach?" haunt me all the time. Also, what I think would be great if present in the game would be coats of arms, a crest for each of the countries. This concept crests seen in the graphic above would do nicely, and I hope they will be in the final game. Upper-left corner seems like a good crest for either Free Palatinate of Dyrwood or Aedyr Empire - because of the deer in it, ofc (duh!). What do you think about other crests visible? What would be a good crest for other realms or factions? My guess is: upper-left - Dyrwood or Aedyr upper-right - Eir Glanfath lower-left - Readceras lower-right - Vailian Republics or Old Vailia And BTW, I wonder is it possible to be a Vailian with a light skin complexion - or an inhabitant of Dyrwood with a dark skin complexion; was there some info about that?
  16. I think that people of the Eternity world should not be totally aware about what's going on after death. Be scared, be suspicious. Also, does the reincarnation cycle is the same for all the races?
  17. There is no healing magic in the game. Also: PC Gamer: Party combat is a big part of the game, but you’ve also said it’s possible to play the game solo. Do you think this will be fun, or is it for masochists only? Josh Sawyer: It’ll be hard. I’m sure people will find certain classes and builds that will make it easier than others. Especially once you’ve already played through the game, and you have the metagame knowledge, it becomes a lot easier. I think the enjoyment comes from the fact that it’s a unique challenge on its own. Some people will say, I don’t know how to play through this whole game with a priest or a wizard, but I’m going to figure out how to do it. It will be pretty challenging, especially at certain points. We’re planning to use a sliding experience system, so if you have a single character they’ll gain levels more quickly than if they were with an entire party. If you don’t want to have six characters in your party you can have four, or two, or you can just go by yourself. We’re not discouraging this, but also the combat isn’t balanced around it. You can try it, but we’re not going to spend time figuring out if it’s viable to play through the whole game with a single character. It should be possible, but we’re not putting a lot of time into it.
