BIG HEAD mode is in
Messier-31 replied to Labadal's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Also the headline of this thread is suitable. -
"Steve Austin, astronaut. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better... stronger... faster." ^ If you put a name of the protagonist, change his class and replace the word "technology" with "animancy" you get the SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN of Eternity. Well, six million gold pieces at least.

Yes and no. I think it is quite understandable that a dwarf may have a bonus to STRENGHT or MIGHT or whatver, while an elf may have better DEXTERITY.

Difficulty level
Messier-31 replied to Macrae's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Back in the day it was normal (medium), 'cause I wanted to play the game as it was meant to be played. Rarely hard, for the lols. Now it's something between easy (casual) and normal gameplay. It ain't easy sparing some time for gaming nowadays. You know, work, family, all that jazz... that's why I like to make my gameplay reasonably smooth, and let the story flow. Reloading and/or extremely long preparations are beyond my interest. Am no masochist.- 77 replies

Will someone create a World Cup thread, already?
Messier-31 replied to Pidesco's topic in Way Off-Topic
Oh, Germany, you callous disregard for Brazil makes me chuckle so. POLISH NATIONAL TEAM IS ALREADY TRAINING FOR THE EURO 2016 QUALIFICATION MATCH WITH GERMANY IN OCTOBER - "And where is Lewandowski?" - "In the front, as we are practising our offensive." -

Baldur's Gate 3?
Messier-31 replied to projectx's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Fallout: New Vegas was imho the closest thing to original Fallouts (and Van Buren) that you can get, it had that feel, while Fallout 3 was just a money-making-machine. For me NV *is* number 3. Although in Fallout franchise it is easier to make a new story not related to the previous protagonists - it usually makes sense. A hypothetical Baldur's Gate 3 would be equally silly if it was about the same Charname Bhaalspawn (a demigod who fought for the Throne of Bhaal, ffs) or if it was about a brand new character. Well, maybe a son/daughter of Imoen perhaps.... NO, totally not. -
Baldur's Gate 3?
Messier-31 replied to projectx's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Aren't people responsible for the enhanced editions of BG 1 & 2 already planning on developing something that they would like to call BG 3? Either way, this whole BG 3 idea seems pointless to me. -
Baldur's Gate 3?

Hear hear! -
For me it would be good to use a fair ammount of some small premade backstories to choose from, describing who you were before the game starts and from where you come from. Has impact on the story ofc. Something similar is in Neverwinter (MMO) iirc.

How do you feel about location abandonment? It is something that happens to early access areas, that you visit in a open-world game (most notably sandbox, but not only), and for the rest of the game you have no true purpose to visit them again. I mean, why bother? How many of you backtracked to Goodsprings or Primm in Fallout: New Vegas? What business you had to revisit the people of Nashkel in Baldur's Gate? These locations are fine and well written, but after you leave them behind, there is no sense in coming back. Ever. Vendors and shops are not adequate to your level, quests are long gone, NPC's haven't got anything new to say... Is it a good thing, a bad thing, or more of a don't-give-a-crap thing?

Sexually explicit content
Messier-31 replied to Sad Panda's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Kinky. Interesting part is that the amount of posts, and thus pages, in this thread since its start (yesterday) shows how this community is supersensitive about the issue. -

Yeah, reading is bad for eyes. It's a good thing that in-game you will not have to, um... oh, wait. Acutally this is really true, as I heard numerous times: "just show the damn gameplay already". -
