  1. Tried it out and it worked for me. I guess they fixed it in the last patch after all. Either that or I just got lucky.
  2. This problem isn't mentioned in the preliminary patch notes they've put up. I really hope the patch does fix it. I want my bird paladin without having to inexplicably have my character be an jerk and leave a man to die.
  3. No fix for the broken 'At all costs' quest mentioned in this thread: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72467-vailian-trading-company-broken-quest/ ? It's preventing people from accessing Pallegina which is a pretty major problem.
  4. Again 1. These people got early copies 2. They have had these copies for days 3. These are "professional" streamers/reviewers 4. They tend to be fans of the IE games and should be familar with basic mechanics and the ability to adapt to new ones 5. They are showing off how to play the game I hold them to a much higher standard than some new guy who is playing his first 5 minutes. Also, I find engagement to be very intuitive. When Josh announced it I thought it made perfect sense. This mechanic also exists in other games. Points 3 and 4 are false to some degree. I saw
  5. Silly indeed! But it's your choice, right? I wouldn't want to keep other people from playing around with the game. Not that I'm too bothered either way, I like keeping stats to human levels. Well, hopefully the way the attributes are designed in PoE means that the desire to min-max is relatively low since the characters will be viable whatever whereas my monk in IWD2 kind of needed to be clinically stupid and utterly unlikeable so that I could ramp up his other stats and keep him useful.
  6. I think making sure no one can dump stats too hard is a good idea. I'm playing through IWD2 at the moment and it is a little silly that everyone but my bard is a sub-human monster with such low charisma that i'm not sure they can communicate in anything other than grunts while my wizard is the only one who doesn't have the mental capacity of a rabbit.
  7. In one of the previews, they mention that an npc asks you questions about your past and your answers go into your biography page. Of course, you can tell him to mind his own business. I don't know if that leaves your bio empty though.
  8. I read somewhere that all companions will be unlocked by the end of the first act, so you should have access to them all fairly soon.
  9. Actually I'm curious how many people are planning to use custom-designed companions on their first playthrough? Personally, I can't see myself using any of them until a few playthroughs with the written companions since while I am interested in combat, my primary interest is seeing all the writing and character interaction.
  10. I wouldn't really call the Nameless One a 'chosen one' since to me, that implies a prophecy or a least a destiny to be the only one who can fight some great evil. In PS:T, the Nameless One is special not because of anything inborn or the hand or fate upon him but because he made a massive mistake in the past that he spends the whole game trying to fix. In PE, 'The player witnesses an extraordinary and horrific supernatural event that thrusts them into a unique and difficult circumstance', which makes it sound like the player does get to have something special about them but it's just becau
  11. I kind of got the impression that animancy was more of a scholarly pursuit, so while I could see being a watcher helping you, I'm not sure it would make you a prodigy. It's like if you had the ability to see the movement of particles with your eyes, it would probably help you be a good physicist but you would still need to study for years and learn how to use some of the equipment.
  12. On that graph it's Dragon Age Inquisition, but I'm not sure if that's true. So PE may in fact be the only one. Seems like RTwP as far as I know. I mean, the other 2 games were and the gameplay clip I saw had them pausing, giving orders and then seeing them carried out in real time.
