  1. It's pretty simple, a Paladin is a highly stricted figure (Call it Saint) who speaks through swords instead of words. He's not regulated by oaths nor rules. He's a Son of his God. Angels are pretty much Paladins. In fact, the whole idea behind the paladins, is to somehow resemble their holy brothers.
  2. I mean, the treasure map would equal the value of all the items you buried.
  3. Who's "someone" else? This is not Ultima Online. Simply trading a treasure map to a npc wouldn't feel quite right. Treasure Maps functioning as paychecks?
  4. If Elves and Drows hadn't wasted their time fighting over foolish and vain issues throughout the past years, they'd all know what I know now.
  5. It worked pretty well for Dungeon Siege & Ultima Online. Question is, how much junk are we gonna find in PE?
  6. A Donkey, a Donkey, my KINGDOM for a Donkey! I really want one, I really do. It would definitely be better than those magical bags of holding.
  7. If it doesn't feel outta place, I'm fine with them. Here's a good example from Monolith's Blood.
  8. I've never seen a game with so many sects & religions. Morrowind surely offered a profound religious debate. This game belongs to the golden era of the computer platform.
  9. Hmm... I can't think of anything else. Perhaps we could use a Portal Technology (3D Realms "Prey"). It would be a different way to break up 2d geometry. We could create a dynamic portal in space, go through it, turn around and close it like a window shade. We could have more different types of locations/terrains by doing such thing.
  10. The art of taking someone else's object for one's own is a common practice among many players. A character's effectiveness in stealing is governed by the PickPocket skill in most Black Isle/Obsidian games. In games like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale or Planescape Torment, If the player is witnessed stealing an item, all npc witnesses become hostile. Let's not forget the Elder Scrolls system, which can fairly be used in Project Eternity. Although generally identical, some differences are noticeable. //Icewind Dale Series// To steal in IWD, one must select the pick pickpocket icon and choose the npc. You can't steal valuable items from the Buying/Selling menu of the merchants. You'll always steal what they have in their pockets, not in their stores. //Baldur's Gate/Planescape Torment Series// In BG & PST, we can either steal from the npc's pocket, or go directly for the items he's selling. The Buying/Selling menu adds a Stealing icon, which can be used to obtain valuable items from merchants. Although it's better than Icewind Dale, players might end exploiting the system ("Gold Trick"). //Elder Scrolls Series// In Bethesda's Elder Scrolls series, one can steal any item on sight. All items are placed in the merchant's store. You can steal anything you want.
  11. El sexe es asquerós (Sex is disgusting). Salvador Dali. Anyways, I'm all for options.
  12. While this is quite often an association grounded in fact, one will not see this very often in this genre (The Witcher Series perhaps?). Those who are more favoured than others in the use of divine magic, are clearly in a higher position of communion with their God/Gods, hence giving them a unique kind judgement (ala Holy Spirit). A common devoted warrior is limited by flesh, evil forces & terrestrial laws. His purpose in a fight is unclear, for he has not yet determined his position. Will he adopt the Path of his God/Gods, or will he resume his wrongdoings as a political entity governed by a religious terrestrial institution. Think of it as Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Qui Gon is a priest-like Jedi who follows the true source of the force (The infamous Midi-chlorians), leading him to defy the Council's views several times, while Obi Wan is the common devouted warrior who's under the tutelage of a corrupt sect known as the Jedi Order. A Priest is a servant of a God while the Paladin is a servant of the world. Chivalric ideals vs Faith. A Paladin who fights without the blessing of his God/Gods is as wrong as a Priest who thinks he's blessed.
  13. The consequences were as follows. Each time you wanted to add a new member to the party, the current members would vote. Each time you wanted to remove a member of the party, the other members would vote (in both cases, a tie was enough for you to recruit/dismiss). If you wanted to remove a member of the party, but couldn't get the other guys to vote him out, you could have him murdered. But the guy you chose to be the murderer would sometimes be murdered in turn by yet another member of the party who was a friend of the original victim, possibly creating a chain of murders that slays the whole party but one.
  14. Hobart Stubbletoes quest, to a place of great wonder. A ruined castle in an unfamiliar land, the Anauroch desert. A place where a mad spirit of a bard named Luremaster is constantly cheating adventurers with undetectable traps, nearly undefeatable monsters & incomprehensible riddles. Oh yes, that's the Luremaster alright!
  15. Never. But I kinda liked the dumbed down version of Christianity in Dragon Age. Perhaps we could have a monotheistic religion? I'm kinda tired of "Godlike" figues, statue worshippers & other bizarre beliefs. I don't understand. Isn't that the same thing?
  16. Are you somekind of Apple idolizer or what? "Nice" & "Automatic" are words for Apple users. Do it manually, do it with style.
  17. Bethesda's Fallout 3 was ridiculous. The quasi-religious organization "Brotherhood of Steel" was EVERYWHERE!
  18. The people who support the products from Ubisoft are the real problem. Dark Messiah, Heroes V & Heroes VI bastardized the universe created by New World Computing.
  19. Most of you are clearly trying to solidify some sort of ill-conceived macho pattern from your real life. Sex has nothing to do with manhood. Give me the possibility to have a relationship/romance, but don't deny me the chance to reject it in a more chastistic/virtuous way.
  20. I prefer the guy from your avatar. Megalomaniacal, sinister, strategically-minded and intelligent, Sandro is portrayed as a villainous conqueror Lich Lord.
  21. Morrowind. The amount of sects & official religious groups is outstanding. The internal religious debate offered a unique setting, which enhanced the Dunmer island. Unlike the Baldur's Gate series, where every religion felt like a heretical sect. The Helmish religion idolizes a statue wearing a full suit of armor. How pathetic is that?
