  1. For whatever reason, there have been a bunch of Praying Mantises around our machines at work lately. I've never seen them in there before this week. I found out that sound in New Vegas is kind of accurate when I walked on one of them. A few minutes later when I was helping someone with a loader problem, one came wizzing by my head, and landed in a box of parts. Then I noticed a brown one hanging upside down on one of my screens. It eventually went down from there and hung out on the door of my machine. It was there for over 2 hours. I had it. Something's gotta give.
  2. Hasn't every Castlevania game ever had clunky and awkward gameplay?
  3. Correct. Previously it has only appeared on Nintendo handhelds. The first game was one of the very best GameBoy Color games (that unfortunately came out when the GBC was already a dead system), the second was a DS game, the third is scheduled for later this year on the 3DS. This project will mark the first time the series has come to home consoles and PC. It's a metroidvania where you play as a half-genie who whips enemies with her hair and does magic dances to transform into different creatures. I'd never heard of it. When I saw the hair attack in the video, my first thought was Kabuki Quantum Fighter.
  4. I'm a Bills fan. My expectations have been low for years. Even if we have a good start, they will collapse. Our best players will get injured a lot. We will be too good to get a top pick, and too bad to make the playoffs. I can't remember if I've been to a game that they've won since Doug Flutie was the quarterback. I may have been to one that they won when Bledsoe was the QB, but I was also at the game when all they had to do was beat the Steelers 2nd and 3rd stringers and they would have been in since the Jets lost in Denver, but they managed to lose that one. The last game I was at before my first son was born was against a really crappy 9ers team. We had JP Loseman as our QB. They were down to some guy from Tulane as their QB. My friends and I were 12 rows from the field on the 20 yard line. I remember screaming at him that he was from Tulane State, then Tulane Community College. http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=281130002 I was very, very drunk because that was the first game that I went to in about 8 years that I hadn't had to drive to myself with everyone so I took full advantage of it. Apparently Shaun Hill never went to Tulane. Also, Trent Edwards started the game. I probably booed when Loserman was put in the game. That guy never showed any flashes of brilliance. Not in the NFL anyways. Hopefully EJ works out for us. Pre-season knee surgery is never a good sign though. I was never high on Kolb, but dang; Jeff Tuel had a 4-22 record at Washington State. I'd feel better with Matt Leinart in there as backup. At least he has managed to accomplish something in his career.
  5. I love still discovering new unmarked caves and random encounters in New Vegas that I haven't run into yet. I always hit the Abandoned Brotherhood Bunker in unpatched vanilla because of the skill book. I never really noticed the Sierra Madre stuff inside there until now since I've played UE. Same thing with the spray paint by the entrance to Lonesome Road.
  6. If they lawyered up, somehow won that suit and took over production of that game, they would probably just cancel it like they have numerous Mega Man projects they've started in the last however many years since the last one came out. At this point, he should be able to use 99.9% of Mega Man's likeness with a different name and Capcom shouldn't be able to say anything.
  7. They say Reus runs in XP with DX9c. The video card just needs to be DX10-compatible. I'm going to find out if this is true myself now eventually.
  8. If I'd stop having good ball games after getting a hair cut, I'd stop thinking that getting a hair cut would stop my slumps. I've been doing that since high school back when I was playing real ball. Playoffs, and our big fishing derby as well. A great weekend to book off work. Also, got a phone call from work asking me if I wanted to accept the Utility job I won (running the non-CNC machines as well.) 8 hours shifts, here I come. A good weekend all around.
  9. I was coaching my softball team when I said practice was over at such-and-such a time. A bunch of the other guys still wanted to practice. I said that was fine but I was leaving. They asked why. I told them that I just discovered this hilarious show on Spike called "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge" It's some Japanese game show with funny English dubs. After that, I became Babaganoosh, because every episode had someone with the last name Babaganoosh. Plus, I wear the number 13 whenever possible. Usually I have to wait for my second jersey with a team to get it. My avatar, is Randy handing Stan the Sword of 1,000 Truths. Seemed fitting here. Otherwise I'm usually Vault Boy Punga Power or Loghain Mac Tir.
  10. It autosaves when you go to a new area. That's all.
  11. I didn't want to use up like half the monthly download limit getting LA Noire, so I've now got it on Xbox. The system seems to turn off whenever I fall asleep, causing me to lose unsaved progress. Checkpoint-only saving does suck. I spent a bunch of time going around unlocking my hidden cars, only to find out when I turned the game on next, they still had question marks. Not to mention the street crimes I've somehow replayed. How the heck do you have checkpoint-only saving in what is basically a sandbox game? Other than that, I've loved it.
  12. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/balconyteam/balrum Balrum might just make it $46,711/$50,000. 5hrs to go. This thing has got half it's funding in the last week.
  13. I didn't quite get it finished before the 2 week mark. Loved what I did play. At least I can use the editor. Steam sucks.
  14. Precinct has switched over from WePay, to PayPal, in case you've already donated or wish to donate. There's some sort of glitch right now with those of us whom have already donated, thinking it's already got it or something. For instance, when I wanted to increase my pledge, I had to add how mush I wanted to increase it by, then do the whole amount through PayPal, instead of typing out the total amount I wanted to donate for now. They're working on it. Also, if you live in the US, you can do a straight up credit card deal without going through PayPal if you wish. http://fund.precinctgame.com/ They're at $9,614/$25,000 for the prototype tier as of now.
  15. An ERA of 81.00. A WHIP of 15.00. Dang, Rodney. I've had some bad results from my pitchers this year, some from you, but I think that one takes the cake.
  16. I guess I haven't lost the art of playing vanilla, unpatched New Vegas for the 360. The only time it's crashed was when I (me, not the courier) fell asleep outside of the Goodsprings Saloon. Generally speaking, you don't want to stay still too long in Goodsprings.
  17. I wonder how they'll handle QTE's. Will they just be tied in to the story as a bit of an upgrade to what they could do with the old Sierra engines, or will they add in random events kind of like Spiderman 2 and make it sandboxy? The CSI's, NCIS, Cognition... I'm happy to take anything kind of like what the PQs/Blue Force were. The only good "cop" shooter I think I've played is Max Payne.
  18. I just found out! Promising myself I wouldn't pre-order this time...
  19. I backed it on their website. http://fund.precinctgame.com/ $1 gets you the game. Just need 393,556 more people to donate a buck, and it's good to go. Man, I really want this one to happen. There aren't enough good police games out there. I'll eventually give them what I planned on giving them for the Kickstarter.
  20. I haven't had much time to play it. I've had my kids a lot more often this summer. I'm usually exhausted by the time I get the kids in bed. Plus there's fishing, and fantasy baseball. Story's great so far. I'm just at the funeral. Only having a few points in body is starting to bite me back. Getting critted too often even under guard. Oh well. I'll figure it out. The first scenario I make will definitely have more stuff for a decker to do. So far that has been wasted karma and money for me.
  21. You can already download the first two games for free from Bethesda. http://www.elderscrolls.com/arena/ http://www.elderscrolls.com/daggerfall/ I assume they work fine with DOSBox if it isn't already included.
  22. I've got an extra Cthulhu Saves the World Steam key from this Lovecraft bundle if anyone wants it.
  23. The Zenimax Fallout games/DLC are 75% off today for the Quakecon weekend sale. NV:UE is $5 again. In case there by chance happens to be someone here who doesn't yet own it, even after the summer sale. http://store.steampowered.com/sale/quakecon1
