  1. Welcome doomgarg! At the time this came up, Ubisoft had recently purchased the rights to publish SoT, and we weren't hearing anything from them. Since then SoT has appeared at a couple of conventions, a few videos were released and a we've had a couple of release dates. Unfortunately, the SP forum here only seems to get some activity whenever some sporatic news, the odd interview or a video comes out. Hence, there are some dated threads if the first couple of pages. I'm sure it will pick up though once the full PR machine comes into play as it's getting ready to be released though, and more news, footage and ads come out for it.
  2. I've been starting to see more and more games that were published on the 360 by MS finally becoming available DRM-free recently. Mark of the Ninja, Dust An Elysian Tail, Limbo... I'm assuming it has to do with the changes they've made recently, and this is thankfully tied in with that. Now I'm hoping I can access my DRM-free copy soon from my HBS accounts page.
  3. I brought my computer back into town for the first time since I downloaded Shadowrun. I'll see if Valve has fixed their offline mode. I'm not holding my breath. Uplay was a bugger updating. It wouldn't log me in and accept the password I changed a while back. I had to take off the Start in Offline mode option. Only then would it accept my real login info. Also, apparently my DA2 update is about the size of 1/3 to half of the total game.
  4. I feel as though it keeps getting better over time. I haven't had TV, or the internet at my home in a couple of years, so I've missed the last couple of seasons, but age has been kinder to SP than many other shows IMO. Apparently I really have to watch Cash 4 Gold.
  5. This. I've got a decent setup for DA:O with x-padder, where I use the two bumpers to toggle between different modes. For instance when I hold down my RT, the right thumbstick becomes my mouse. When I hold down my LT, I can access the rest of the quick keys that I don't use in my normal mode. Also, I have the LB & RB zoom in and out of tactics mode on all 3 modes. It took a lot of tweaking to get a setup I was happy with. Of course, now I've pretty much shaken my kids need to sleep on the couch with me like they once did, plus I have extension cords on my K&M now too, so I'd probably go back to that route when I play it again since I have the extra room again. The right pad just doesn't have the same feel as the mouse for RTwP in tactics. EDIT: If it were TB instead of RTwP, it honestly wouldn't make a lick worth of difference to me which one I used, regardless of my situation. Since there usually is no RT time limit on TB.
  6. Black Cloud Studios has some well known talent working for them, such as Kris Taylor, Mark McGreen, Jim Kain and Furgus Neidhardt. As a stretch goal, they *might* be able to get Chris Allalone to do some special guest writing for them. -------------------------- With that being said, I wish them luck, but $900K is a stretch for a brand new studio with seemingly no real established talent. Plus that Richard Nixon guy seems like a crook. He is not a crook. http://afterreset.com/contacts I love how everyone but Nixon's email address is access denied there. There is this from NMA: http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=57734 I guess their background is in modding NWN2. They worked on a mod called Fallout d20.
  7. Beer. (Same answer since before 1999.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjivDeA7Qu0
  8. This is the only Rambo game anyone needs: http://www.javidpower.com/lastblood/ (Wow, it's had some serious updates since I've played it last.)
  9. I really hope they make it this time. The artwork and music is incredible. The only game that I was more disappointed that didn't make funding was the new Jim Walls one.
  10. Apparently the 2 week "bug" has been fixed. Also, the reason why a lot of the games that were once considered "DRM-free" now have the CEG crap added to them, is because they updated the old authentications in them to new ones. http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/864969953572102601/#c864969953730401285 Which was great when Steam locked me out of my old games on my computer at home. http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/864969953572102601/#c864969953745925033 (Basically in that one he was blaming old games for causing problems in offline mode. The only "problem" I see is that they actually worked offline without the client.) I guess I'll bring my computer into town again and see if this really does work. Re-install my Fallouts. I'm dreading the patch for FO3. I just know that can't be good. I still wish more companies would put their games elsewhere, and not make them Steam-reliant.
  11. Hopefully PS4's cloud streaming of PS3 games is a reality by then. That might make it more viable to buy it digitally on PSN vs a physical disc. Otherwise I'm assuming you're looking at a whole lot of extra work to ensure compatibility, if it's even viable.
  12. This is the video I have to watch every 18 months: It's only a preview. You don't get the Kenny Loggins music in it, but you get his hair in the last 10 seconds or so. We had a funny one when I was first licensed, featuring someone named Earl, or something like that who did everything you weren't supposed to do on a truck, but I cant find it. This one tries too hard: What's strange about this one here is, I can't imagine the first thing that they cover being legal anywhere. In Ontario, if you want to do that with a human, they must be in a safety cage, and chances are they'll need a harness on as well if they're 10 feet (that number might be slightly higher or lower depending on where you live) or more off of the ground. EDIT: Even if somehow they got special permission from the government to do that, I can't imagine that even then they could do it without a harness for that reason alone.
  13. The Beaverton is the Canadian equiviancy of The Onion. Chris actually did a Q&A at the film's premiere at TIFF.
  14. I had two of them right on nerve endings. I had to the option to see the guy locally, or pay a heck of a lot more for a specialist in Waterloo. If it was botched, the whole side of my face probably would have been paralyzed. I knew the guy locally, he was on my ball team at the time. I went to the specialist. - On a side note, my Best Man (Mike) had his wisdom teeth cause a bad infection one night, his neck was swollen and he couldn't breathe. The dentist who was on my ball team was the guy on call and saved his life. Mike will sing praises about how great he was. I just couldn't get past what he was like when he was with the team. Good guy, but man... EDIT: Oh yeah, I was put out for that operation. I worked all night, and had an appointment at something like 10:00am. I slept until they closed at 5:00ish.
  15. I hit up a used book store and got back some Poirot novels I lost in my first basement flood. Right now, I'm reading Appointment With Death.
  16. 2000 was the year Dave Barry is from Mars and Venus came out on paperback. It was a confusing time for everybody.
  17. Makes me proud to have paid for my Wadjet Eye Games games. Before I bought them all on GOG on a bundle sale, I had my Wadjet Eye games in something stupid like 4 different websites/services. Now I just noticed the ones I don't have (or in the case of DRM-free Puzzle Bots) on Desura.
  18. I just remember they kept switching engines seemingly every time a new one came out. From Build, to Quake 2, to Unreal. I think I asked on their forums when they announced the switch to Unreal if they at least at that point had all the game's levels down on paper or something so they could just code it. I blame Ken Silverman. That kid never should have left. He should have just built them a brand new engine and kept them focused. But NOOOOO! He wanted to "go to school."
  19. There is this Duke 3D mod that was based off of the original 2001 E3 trailer that is a lot better than the thing Gearbox released. http://www.moddb.com/mods/duke-nukem-forever Destructoid article: http://www.destructoid.com/the-real-duke-nukem-forever-released-16-years-later-252811.phtml
  20. Far Cry 1 & 2 are on sale on GOG this weekend. You can't go wrong for $4. http://www.gog.com/game/far_cry
  21. Signed, Duke Nukem Forever, Daikatana, Uru: Ages Beyond Myst In all fairness, I HOPE SP isn't going through an (or multiple) engine change, or have MMO anywhere near it at any point.
  22. It's too bad. If there wasn't that large insistence by a lot of people who will only play something if it's on Steam, he probably could have continued by giving the DRM-free game out from BMT, and the mirrors to the end of the promo. Even if the codes were still hacked, he might have been able to catch on earlier that someone was taking them from the code generator itself. I blame achievements.
  23. The Pit, and Point Lookout are the best parts of FO3. OA is okay. The Gauss Rifle that you get for completing it is the best part about it. I've only completed BS and MZ once. BS was also okay. I liked the extra side quests that came with it. The main quest to Adams Air Force Base... well I think at that point I was a bit sick and tired of killing Enclaves. I haven't had the desire to do that part again. It was kinda meh. MZ may as well be the burned game to me. I constantly had to go back saves because of some bug that wouldn't allow you to progress any farther. If Bethesda doesn't state that it is non-canon, then basically we now know who was responsible for launching the first missile. It takes aliens from being this easter egg joke, to being a key player in the FO Universe. I'll probably do BS again. I won't do that one again. Just my opinion anyways.
  24. Chris Hadfield Ejected From Movie Theatre for Loudly Heckling Gravity What was fantastic about this, is that I first seen that on some real news site, so when I told a lady at work about this who recommended that I go watch it... Well, I'll have egg on my face next week. Well played Yahoo, or Google, or wherever it was that I had first seen it.
  25. Might be getting to the point where a somewhat sizable section of the consumer base has put away their old consoles. At least that shouldn't really effect PC sales.
