  1. I'd hardly consider the original game to be anything more than a PG-13 affair as well. True, but in the new one they make an ESRB joke when you talk about turning off the bubbles this time with Eve. The ending is a lot different than I remember the 256 color version being, which is why I'm wondering if they're taking it in a new direction for the future games. I wonder what their forums say... Or I could have unknowingly watched an under 18 version of it, but the doll wasn't censored...
  2. There can be a benefit to buying it on Steam, as it helps to drive those numbers up so then hopefully more people notice them. That's part of the reason why some of them don't do it, or encourage you to buy it there anyways. If it can get a million or so eyes on it...
  3. Dag nab it! Between Reus and Dust, it makes me want to partition my hard drive at home and put Win7 on it (stupid not adding DX10 to XP.) ---------------- Also, I'm not sure if it was posted before, or if even I posted it, but here is a list of devs price matching their games through the Humble Store to reflect the Steam sale: http://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/1i50pv/humble_store_steam_price_match_consolidation_post/
  4. Isn't that what they're already doing at the tar sands?
  5. LSL1 was a pretty short game to begin with. It was a pretty risky venture to take at the time. They kinda get longer as the series progresses. I'm wondering if they're PG-13ing the whole series for the ESRB rating? Al's there, so if he's on board with it then it isn't like someone else is effen up his work ala MCL & BOB.
  6. I sure hope so. According to Avast and Windows Defender I'm clean. I'll know soon enough though. Looks like I just tried posting a tweet while Firefox was trying to block it. Yay!
  7. Yep. Brand spankin' new spyware, hot off the presses. Nothing on it yesterday when I looked, lots on it today. Man, when I get rid of that stuff, I amputate. Lost the Windows Verification this time.
  8. Kings Quest has The Silver Lining series by Phoenix Online Studios to continue with that story. Roberta Williams endorsed them.
  9. Dang you Jim Walls! I was limiting how much I was kickstarting to save up for Zeboyd's Kickstarter in another couple of months or so. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/precinctgame/precinct Jim Walls is the latest ex-Sierra folk to come out of retirement to make a game called: Precinct. It's Jim Walls, and it's a police adventure game. What else do you need to know? It has a $500,000 goal. $30 is the minimum for the game. Just watch: The Murry's will be coming out with the spiritual Manhunter 3 at the same time as Cosmic Star Heroine.
  10. The MC-47 also did a fantastic job of keeping your kids feet off of the wet clean floor.
  11. I don't buy that a kid with no priors would all of a sudden attack someone for no good reason. My guess is that a guy that does have a previous history of violence and racism initiated the whole thing.
  12. Wiping everything on Firefox seemed to work. Yesterday, it wanted everything here to come up as gifs for me as it kept adding a .gif extention to the pages here, but nowhere else. That's why I was wondering if it was just me. I guess it was. Thanks for letting me know.
  13. I'm at that age, that I call college students, kids. High school students certainly fit that mold. If Zimmerman didn't have the gun on him, he probably would have done what he was told when he called the cops. They would have came, seen that there was nothing, and moved on. Life goes on for everybody. Instead he went looking for trouble, caused it, and he killed a teenager.
  14. Is it just me (and potentially some new virus or something,) but when I try to go to http://forums.obsidian.net/ it reroutes me to some Commission Junction page: http://www.cj.com/privacy.html This (http://forums.obsidian.net/) seems to be the only place that takes me there out of all of my links that I've tried.
  15. Thanks for the heads up.
  16. You didn't miss out on anything That bad, eh? Maybe I'll watch a bit of a 'let's play' first. I was looking forward to basically another Maniac Mansion game.
  17. You need to get permission from the person you're prank calling before you broadcast it. If you don't get permission, it's against the law, So if two employees are told by their boss to break the law and go ahead with it, then they shouldn't lose their jobs according to you? My assumption was that it was a live prank call. I've never read anything that said it was a taped call, and nothing I've heard on TV implied that. Oh well. Either way, it just seems like the people running the station are a bunch of deeks.
  18. There's an Atari sale on this weekend. http://www.gog.com/promo/atari_weekend_promo_120713 65% off everything. I picked up a few I didn't have. Missed out on the Roller Coaster Tycoon promo because it took my PayPal funds longer to clear than usual. I was wondering if they included both Canada Day and Independence Day in with the wait. So I picked those up anyways. I think the first thing I'll test out is if you can have "accidents" in those ones like you could in Theme Park.
  19. The Cave was 75% off yesterday. You're supposed be able to boot straight from the exe so I was going to pick it up for that reason, but PayPal wouldn't let me use my account when I tried. Or Sega could release it (and a bunch of their other games for that matter) on DRM-free platforms, and I'll be happy. $3.75 in $M makes up for the $P for me for the only game I kinda want on there. http://gamasutra.com/blogs/LarsDoucet/20120222/91144/Piracy_and_the_four_currencies.php
  20. The current Weekly bundle is from Spiderweb Software. https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly You'll get 15 of their games including the Geneforge's, Avernum's and Avadon and Nethergate, assuming you beat the average.
  21. You know what are good DJ pranks? Danny Dumps from Hirsty's Daily Dose. As far as those DJ's who pranked the nurse whom killed herself... They should never have been fired for that. You can't assume that if you prank somebody, they'll end their life. If their ratings dropped after that, they should have been fired for that.
  22. Used my airmiles to get a replacement Xbox. Should be here tomorrow or Friday. Ye ay, free! Just need to get my real profile on to it when it comes. My online one is a bit out of date. The last time I had it hooked up to the net was when ME3 came out, and I finally had all my games with me, so I finally got a lot of my games patched like New Vegas. Then it died late last summer.
  23. One game that I noticed being a big Earthbound fan was Heroes of Mother 3. I guess it started as a forum game on starmen.net. I don't really hang out there much. It always reminds me of that time a few friends and I went to a friends trailer in Sauble Beach during the Civic Holiday long weekend in 1999, and someone broke into his house and stole a bunch of stuff. Some of my Super Nintendo carts were there, including Earthbound, and Death and Rise of Superman. I reason why I miss the latter, because that one I would sell. The former on the other hand... Anyhow, I assume no one from Kickstarter knows what Mother (and possibly Earthbound) is. If this flies, I guess this means I can make a Sonic the Hedgehog game, and put it on Kickstarter without getting permission from Sega. I assume once Nintendo sees this, the lawyers will be contacting them. Considering they don't like the idea of someone making any money whatsoever off of a Let's Play video, even though it's basically free advertising for them. I can imagine someone from Nintendo seeing "Mother 3" "$1,545" "$1,250 goal" "$10 - get a copy of the game" and then watching the video and seeing their characters up in it. Then they notice the Starmen reference. I don't think it will be good. I would love to play the game, but this is arguably in many ways legally worse than Dormant Sky, which used and illegal copy of RPG Maker, and stole a bunch of sprites from different games. At least they can buy a legal copy of RPG Maker, and not use images and stuff that they're not entitled to as he's promising to do. A better way to go would probably have been the way Phoenix Online Studios did The Silver Lining. It's free. When the copyright holders at the time of the Kings Quest series told them to stop, Roberta Williams stuck up for them and they were allowed to continue. They then took the experience and publicity that they got from that, had a successful kickstarter for Cognition, and are now Greenlighted on Steam. Plus, they are also working on Moebius with Jane. So I'll see how far this one goes.
  24. I wonder if Origin & Uplay will have sales as well. Either way, none of them will beat that GOG sale for me.
  25. ...and it did happen. So, who have they got to play defense at the defense position yet? Could they have used the people that they used to get a backup goalie to get someone there that could play defense?
