  1. ^^^^^ A lot of that is how I would describe Pandora - Purge of Pride.
  2. Rehearsals and Returns is in its final 3 hours, and is $222 away from its stretch goal of hiring a database programmer.
  3. It easily had the best story and writing of any D&D game up to that point. It looked great for its time. Everyone that I knew in my hometown that had any interest whatsoever in D&D had Shattered Lands. Wake of the Ravager was a bit trickier to run. Between the bugs, the memory it needed and it didn't like to run in Windows at all; I only knew a couple of people with that one. CD Rom was still expensive at the time.
  4. "Mr. Newell, please: When will you folks fix the offline mode so it doesn't log out every couple of weeks?"
  5. It does look a bit confusing with Unity capitalized next to Dark Sun. I played more Dark Sun than any other D&D video game.
  6. ^^^^^ Oops! I read the Armikrog thing wrong. The WiiU version will be added amongst the choices of which version you want. Not added to your version. My bad.
  7. If I'm WotC, I'm dropping a few million to make a new Unity Dark Sun game. Who here wouldn't eat that up?
  8. Kickstarted is in its final 10 or so hours. The Kobe Beef Jerky guys again fake pledged $30,000 this afternoon to try and throw things off. It is currently at $78.6K/$85K goal. ------ Also, Armikrog and Nelly Cootalot are now funded! Nelly now has a cinematic opening and ending. Armikrog is about $35k away from a WiiU port from happening as well and added on for all the backers who have pledged at least $20. ------ Look out for a new Zeboyd Games kickstarter in the future. Their new game will be called Cosmic Star Heroine. http://zeboyd.com/2013/06/25/zeboyd-games-is-proud-to-announce-cosmic-star-heroine/
  9. "rem" denotes a comment, i.e. the text that follows is not executed, I assume it's short for remark. Handy so you don't have to remember and retype the various changes you need to make from game to game. UMBs are just the bits of memory originally reserved for various specialised functions that had mostly become redundant in later times, and therefore the memory was 'reclaimed' for general use. Merci, beau coup. Now I remEMBER! I think it has easily been over 13 years since I've had to do any of that. I don't miss it.
  10. I hope they come up with something much better this time around. It can be hard finding the good ones, like a needle in a haystack at times. I usually find out about the good ones after they port them to PC. Perhaps come up with a spotlight or something to direct peoples attention.

  12. In Xbox 180 news, it looks like they might bring back self-publishing indies. http://www.vg247.com/2013/06/24/rumour-microsoft-to-announce-xbox-one-self-publishing-at-build/comment-page-1/ Next thing you know; they'll get rid of having to have the stupid camera, and drop the price by $100. Then the only thing going against it will be all the bad will they got from the crap they tried to pull.
  13. I think XP and Dosbox caused me to suppress all of that. I remember being proud of having around 610K of available conventional memory while running Win95 back in the day while still having access to everything in DOS mode. Now, it's almost all Greek to me. I can't remember what rem does, or what UMB is. God only knows what were to happen if I loaded up Turbo Pascal or Q/Watcom/Visual Basic (probably nothing.) Guess I should take a refresher.
  14. If I remember correctly, didn't loading your mouse high actually use more conventional memory than just load=mouse.com? There was something strange like that I figured out trying to get Xargon to work.
  15. In other news: Mike Gillis messes up another trade.
  16. If the Bruins were anything like the Leafs, they would go out and pick up a new young goalie with potential.
  17. This series is completely free and is an indie project so you may well not have heard of them before. The graphics aren't the best but the story is excellent, they're made by Zero Punctuation's Yahtzee. 5 days a stranger 7 days a sceptic trilby's notes 6 days a sacrifice I was kinda amazed when I stumbled on that site a few days ago at how many games he made that I remember from years back. I loved the Rob Blanc series back in the day, not to mention 5 days.
  18. That's why the Royals are the Royals. Outside of the wins, Shields is pitching typical Shields. He's only allowed more than 2 ER once in the last 10 games, and he only has 1 recorded win in that time.
  19. I would recommend the Wadjet Eye games like the Blackwell games, Gemini Rue, and Resonance if old school style p&c mystery adventure is what you're looking for. Gray Matter, while not Jane Jensen's best game, is a good mystery p&c too. If GOG does here what they did last Christmas, there might be another opportunity to pick them up for $8 and change.
  20. Yeah...even those of us with the Season Pass, the Tina DLC won't be included with it this time I think. So I'll have to get it twice, for hubby and me. Oh well. Season Passes, should be Game Passes, that include all the official DLC ever for a game IMO.
  21. He's like Superman. I didn't recognize him at first.
  22. The Kickstarter documentary "Kickstarted" that helped to uncover the Kobe Beef Jerky scam is in its final 4 days, and is a fair bit short of its funding goal. $43,348/$85,000 It features interviews with Brad Muir, Zach Braff, Brian Fargo, Amanda Palmer and many others. The Kobe Jerky guys tried throwing off their funding with fake pledging after their Kickstarter was suspended, but I'm kinda surprised there wasn't a bigger spike in its funding after the press it got.
  23. John Cygan to me will always be Canderous Ordo. He, like many good voice actors has been a tonne of other things as well, though.
  24. When Jack Nicklaus retired from golf, he refused to watch it because he hated not being out there. Manny's probably the same way. The thing is; who really needs him?
