W/O Wireless KB: There is the usual graffiti interface and the tapping KB. After you get used to either its fast enough, but obviously it does not compete with the wireless KB. Compared to other PDAs, however, the screen is a huge improvement in relation to being able to view in landscape or portrait. Another nice addition is the native MS Office support. Very nice indeed. Web Pages: Definitely squished. That having been said, with the KB it remains accessible as an interface. In comparison to other PDAs/Cell phone, the screen is larger and that helps. It's no 19" LCD, but it works. I am learning after a day of playing it's the jack-of-all-trades I have been waiting for. For certain it has lots of limitations - all things this small do, but its advantages for portability - keeping in mind it is a ONE APPLICATION as a TIME OS - are of great use.

hehe - thanks I am really quite impressed with the unit. The concerns I have read in most reviews I believe stem from a world that is so accustomed to multi-tasking that there is the expectation the LifeDrive would do this. For a unit this small, however, and with the Palm OS it is more reminiscent of the old 3.1 Windows/original Mac days - one app at a time. It is pretty stable and there is quite the breadth of programmes and tweaks from which to choose. Really the comments of this unit being a sub-notebook are pretty accurate. Wifi awesome and I can print from the unit too!

Well I think we all share our best with any loss. And before this becomes less than welcoming or consoling, we'll just close this down.

It is really too bad they are d/c the Toledo. Though I can understand form a cost/competitve perspective, the performace is definitely better. I'm likely going to go with the new 5000, as the FX-62 just has not come down far enough.

WOW! That is indeed severe. I'm wondering how smart it is to be listing Vista at this point - I suspect at least one more delay before shipping.

There was one cut that was intended to happen - the size/occurrence is in addition to the one that has been known since May.

Ah well the lack of sound would have a part to play in that - perhaps a suggestion to rent it with sound might be a step in remedying the confusion?

Syriana I'm still trying to figure out whether Bob was being paralleled with the terrorists as blindly following orders or whether, in the end, his character was acting on account of redemption of realsing the danger of 'following orders.'

I do have to agree that Glau's performance in Serenity was not her best. Though I suspect I may disagree with Grommie about her ability, I do think that the final battle scene was ... scripted too much. It lacked that realism of FF. I do not, however, feel that was her fault per se. In fact that final scene, was to me, quite contrary to FF's overall tenure. Though I am not certain, I feel that scene was scripted to make the movie palatable to the 'action audience.' I do like Glau's character acting - in fact Serenity up until half-way balanced River's usual reservation and withdrawal well. I'll never know the pressures brought to bear in the editing stage - so there you are.

WOW - I never thought of that! That would be most interesting indeed ...

Thanks Hades - I have a few friends who will be most excited about this rumour.
-
Sorry Hades - I was not so much talking about fan-based movies for FF, as much as alluding to the fact that fan0based movies are already demonstrating that the net can work to distribute entertainment content that challenges the conventional distribution structure - does that make sense? As for the BBC rumour - that's very cool. Do you have a link for that by chance?

Oh I definitely hear you. In fact that is why I feel the movie/series balance could address this. That Whedon has comfort with nixing characters could lead to a more thorough uni telling ... or better yet different stories in the same uni. The problem, of course, is the ST phenom that ends up motivated by its own propulsion w/o creativity - does that make sense? I think that's another tool in the box indeed. From what I understand over the pond in the UK, there are close ended story-lines that are like this rather than ongoing TV series. I think that would work really well, as a way to add pieces to the large potential of the FF uni. And there Hades you have hit on my excitement about the FF fan-base. Though the documentary may not appeal to non-Geckling Brown Coats , the fact of the matter is it demonstrates - to me at least - that the whole entertainment paradigm is changing. Though there are a lot of fan made movies now, it is clear that commercial, wide-spread endeavours can utilise the net and be marketable. In fact, I'd love to see Whedon skip the whole network nightmare and direct to the user. I feel the sale of the DVDs warrants this consideration. The problem is how much intellectual copyright has he released to Fox and Universal? Of course, Fox or Universal could be leaders and do this with an invitation to Whedon if he no longer has intellectual ownership (which I suspect is the case ).

And with that delightful sharing we'll dance this one into the AotS ...

Yeah - but that would lose the uber-cool factor Seriously though, his comfort with weaponry and such makes me suspect the operative aspect, but I'd not put it past the realm of possibility that he could be a Senator. That sounds both plausible and really very exciting. The depth implied would again be an affirmation of the potential of the series. I continue to wrestle - especially with the insights in this thread - that FF works better as a series than a film franchise. Not that I do not appreciate the film aspect, but the series inherently possesses much more depth for an ensemble piece (as Gromnir observed about some of the shortcomings of the film). That having been said, a balance between the two would be wonderful! Babylon 5 demonstrated some paradigm shift in that regard - 5 made for tv movies if I recall? The possibility is definitely there.

I definitely see that Book was likely an Operative. The episode with Early(Objects in Space - Richard Brooks) was not only one of the most creative character development episodes - imo - it added in one line so much potential about Book that I think you've got lots with which to work. Parliament/Mal & plot lines. I'd love to see this SLOWLY evolve. Don't forget River has WAY moreinfo in her head than just Miranda. She's still got a lot of potential for story-lines, but also there needs to be care not to jump the shark - for which any continued series holds real danger. I'd like it to continue as an ensemble piece with balance - something Buffy quickly lost and Angel walked somewhat well. I definitely do not want the River show ... I want to know more about the core and the reality of where and how humanity is where it is at ... high wishes, but hey, ya gotta ta aim high
-
I'd love to see the series continue too, I just do not know if it will be possible. At least not with the original crew - well not all of them at least. Someone mentioned the Wonder Woman reality for Whedon, and I suspect this is a good observation/challenge. If he can pull it off and have a hit on his hand, this would definitely give him some leverage. Whether or not he wants to, however, I guess continues to be a valid question if in fact that stars a line correctly.

And we arrive at a time of farewell that will leave of with many memories ...
-
Likely any of the other characters would have elicited - unfortunately - the same inquiry. And this is why I want in to Whedon's head ... or at least more more more from him The first graphic novel was interesting and I hope the second one adds to the episodes not completed to the first season. The future storyline, however, with Walsh's and Book's death do indeed pose many questions about where he is/was intending to go ...
