  1. But are you sure the 8800 uses dual 6-pin connectors? The chinese photo of the 8800 prototype cannot be trusted to represent what the production models will look like. I just had a look at BFG Techs latest monster PSU and they 2-4 6-pin connectors so I guess I might need a new PSU aswell
  2. Some companies, like OE makes games exatly like I want them. Thus, I would love any game theyd make. If they did a barbie-RPG Id definently buy it. and developers are not huge corporations, they need every penny they can get
  3. Meh, if it doesnt show up in a catscan, its not real. I remember when I was 5 my kindergarten teachers got some school shrink to label me with ADHD, but my parents took me to an independent psychologist who confirmed I was just very lively and a bit understimulated.
  4. Pre-ordering is my way to support developers aswell. Although in the case of OE, you dont need to worry about bugs. All I experienced from K2 was a few repeating dialogues but thats all Good decision. I now recommend anyone who hasn't played it yet to do the same. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nah, I prefer to get version 1.0 so I have more argumentation material for our next "jerry RPG's suck" debate
  5. Given ATARi's bungle with the release of the presell toolset, which led to anyone being able to download from their FTP without any from of preoreder code... is there any hardcore NWN fans who HAVENT seen it? I heard the same from a NWN1-modding friend of mine. I think its merely a case of getting used to a new interface with alot of added features.
  6. But.. I thought in-the-closet homosexuality was the very essence of boyscouts? I mean, all those dodgy camps and homoerotic uniforms? Personally, I wouldnt like any gays, christians, germans, danes, jews, negroes, japanese, muslims, greek-roman wrestlers, americans, stamp collectors, hamsters or amish to have anything to do with my hypothetical children.
  7. So if two males make out using the exact same animations etc. it should be rated R? Sounds bit like "Oh, so in this game you only shoot black and latino people? Ill give it a PG13... mind you, if we find that you can shoot just a single caucasian we'll slam you with R" "
  8. Are there even PSU's with dual 6-pin connectors? Id try to take two 4-pins and run them into a 6-pin adapter for the second one
  9. Cant you just install it and play a wee tiny bit to see what its like?
  10. Dang, the Vole is right. Hold Person does not have a hitdie restriction!
  11. Oooh! I remember the original game, that was awesome. Is LucasArts the publisher?
  12. The reason why fireball and lightning bolt are so good and often used is that they count in every single situation no matter which opponent you fight(excluding elementals and some daemons). other spells such as Deep Slumber and Hold Person will only affect lower-level opponents and are thus useless for the major part of the game. Still, the NWN2 spell list is much better than the old NWN one
  13. How come everyone's so damn anti-highschool? I think it would rule the earth (and sales)
  14. Seeing as there are very few arcane spells that are actually useful, Im contemplating playing a sorceror for the NWN2 OC. Then I can just whore the good ones ad infinitum
  15. I played it at an amusement park but must have been around 1993. I remember the computer they ran it on was an Amiga )
  16. It is, but it should be in the damn section that lists the feats. I hope they dont disguise the crunch* ingame aswell. If you cant see all the ups and down of a feat, you might end up with a weakened character due to bad feat selection *geek term for everything pertaining to exact numbers and rules
  17. The section regarding feats is completely useless as it doesnt actually give full info. I mean, it doesnt even mention that metamagic feats like "quicken spell" will cause the spell to take up a higher spell slot
  18. YESS!!!!! OBEY THE PC.
  19. If we Swedes dont need localised games, neither do you. (in the near future, publishers will drop localisation entirely as its too expensive)
  20. What was said by Johan Hargelid from DiCE was:
  21. The acting argument works, except that the point of RPGs is to have fun and not impress an audience. And actors certainly have favorite roles to play, which they find alot more fun than playing a manic-depressive court jester in the 800th contemporary remake of "16th century play X" My latest fit of quiet rage was aimed at Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, which dictates that you can have a lot of freedom but still insists that you roll your characteristics in order(which will wreak havoc on your char) and randomly determine talents* (which will also make sure you end up with useless stuff your character wont ever need instead of stuff that could have helped a great deal) * talents is the WFRP version of Feats/Perks
  22. I agree, the players provide their characters and the GM provides a situation that the players have to deal with through their PC. Now my weird aquintance who is a lot like magical Volo in that he has a pathological desire to have the exacy opposite opinion of everyone else.. he says that its in playing a premade/random character that the true roleplaying challenge is. And if you let players do their own characters theyre just going to choose roles theyre comofortable with. Me, I think hes sort of suggesting that you should play golf with a hockey stick
  23. The thing with "City of.." is that it only has a single gameplay element = combat. Every quest is about combat, yet the combat is not fun even if youre whole bunch of people. You activate power 1, power 2, power 3.. wait until 1 has recharged, use it again.. etc. etc. until inane enemy #4639 is smited. Building a base was fun, but then you had to grind for hours and hours just to be able to buy a wee tiny room.
  24. CoH/CoV was boooring and repetitive, Im not the least excited over this despite being a longtime Marvel fan.
  25. One of the things that have surprised me when meeting new roleplayers is how some people love the idea of randomly generating characters using lots of tables. Some developers seem to love it aswell, Lancelot games did it alot in the 80's and Neogames followed the trend in the early ninties by dedicating an entire chapter of the main rulebook to randomizing tables. Personally, I hate the concept of randomizng characters and the few times Ive had the displeasure of being forced into it by pigheaded GMs have been the least enjoyable sessions Ive played. To me, playing a random character completely defeats the purpouse and concept of RPGs. You create a character of your OWN design and play it through an adventure, making your own choices. Its the freedom and beauty of RPGs. I dislike randomisation to the point of frowning at games that roll characterisics instead of using a point buy system. I suppose its because I obsess over character much like a playwright and I demand complete control over the creation phase Whats your opinion? Do think randomising has any merit?
