I hate singstar. Some of the geeks here have it and they make a thing out of forcing everyone to play at the afterparty, even when they know noone wants to do it. One time one of them even did it when everyone was sober, that was one of those great awkard moments in life. Not even alcohol will do it for me since I dont listen to popular music at all(no radio or music on tv) so I know about one song in every other edition and from that usually just half the chorus.

I never register any software unless Im forced to. All you normally end up with is an increase in spam activity.

You can just alter them like with K2, although you will need Nvidia's plugin for *.dds file format to be able to do anything with them in Photoshop. The textures are found in Data/Nwn2materials.zip People begun altering meshes before the game came out, the problem is that since you cant re-rig the mesh, you need to keep your changes minimal since you might break the animation otherwise.

For me, indoors areas are the ones with the highest FPS. I get lag/choppiness in outside areas which are brightly lit (like west harbour, that was way slower than neverwinter) forcing off vsynch seemed to give some improvement, turning off shadows and normalmapped terrain makes it flow nicely except it looks like crap.

Electron is a poorly written, poorly optimized engine so it needs more power to do less. I heard something about the lead programmer either being fired or quit shortly before the release.

The 8800GTX is approximately 35% faster than the 7900GTX on average. The 1950XTX-whatever is a 1-2% percent faster than the 7900GTX

Is it just me or is anyone else getting really ticked off by those annoying beams in the ceiling that dont go away when you zoom out to classic top-down view? Theyre always in the way and I cant see the point of having them. And every tileset has them! gah.. (Im a also a bit annoyed over having spent 2hours getting my bum kicked by sneaky thugs )

After being merged with AMD, ATI are working on some rather nifty technlology. But, who knows if 2x32 pipelines and 80-65nm core will really make a differance? My bet is that ATI will push their new top card to be slightly faster than Nvidias, whereupon Nvidia will counter with a 8900, then ATI does a an XXXTXXTX-something.. and on it goes.

NWN2's engine is very badly optimised so I doubt it would make that much of a differance. It doesnt really matter how big your engine is when the parking break is stuck. ( still an awesome game though )

I do a virus search using Symantecs free online thingie now and then, if it finds anything I remove it manually. AV programs usually do more harm than good really. The only time Ive got a virus or Trojan was out of sheer stupidity a while ago. I had my computer behind two hardware firewalls so I had mine turned off, then I moved it to a network that was unprotected and forgot to turn the firewall back on. Wham! I got so much crap into my system that I had to format C: and reinstall

I remember in NWN1 that taking levels in PrC had no incidence on the XP penalty: the latter only mattered for base classes. I don't know if it's the same in NWN2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The problem is that I would need to take 1 level of Fighter on my 6 levels of Sorceror to be able to take Eldritch Knight. Since you get XP penalty if your two base classes are more than one level apart, I couldnt do a Sorc 6/Fighter 1/Ek build.

The console is pretty sweet when it comes to milking the game of the most content. givefeat 45 and my Sorceror can take Eldritch Knight without having to take the XP punishment and spell progression of having a level of fighter ) (Im playing a Tiefling so the level of punishment from ECL+1 AND XP penalty would have made my build nearly unplayable)

All you need to take EK is martial weapon profficiency and being able to toss lvl3 spells, innit? So you only need one level of Fighter... or any class that gives you MWP

I found that the basic camera is best after all. The Baldur's Gate style camera is good when theres alot happening and scrolling whenever a character moves will use up vital system power. My tiefling sorceror can cast fireball now so it feels better. But its really short on clothes in the Sword Coast it seems. Im in Neverwinter now and I have thus far only found two stinking robes, and the first one I couldnt afford. I keep seeing NPC's in fancy outfits but my poor Sorc is still dressed like a poncy hobo

I think the smartest thing is to let an NPC handle it and focus your own character towards powergam.. I mean "optimization" "

Crafting: A. -get a "mold" which is a single use recipe for a weapon or an armour -get steel ingots or similar -place the stuff in a workbench, which is just a container really -use an smiths hammer on the workbench -your thingie is ready B. -get a "recipe" book -gather ingredients like gems or weird energy blobs you get from breaking down zombie limbs etc -put it all in a workbench -now cast the spell described in the recipe on the workbench to create your magic amulet or whatever To do this you need various item creation feats like "craft wondrous item" aswellas as ranks in a craft skill like "craft alchemy". the better stuff you tryto make, the more ranks you need and the more expensive the ingredients will be. Still, you can get away with a +2 fullplate armour at a cost of just 2-3000g instead of 6-8000 which is the store price. from what I can tell there is no XP cost
