  1. Crafting: A. -get a "mold" which is a single use recipe for a weapon or an armour -get steel ingots or similar -place the stuff in a workbench, which is just a container really -use an smiths hammer on the workbench -your thingie is ready B. -get a "recipe" book -gather ingredients like gems or weird energy blobs you get from breaking down zombie limbs etc -put it all in a workbench -now cast the spell described in the recipe on the workbench to create your magic amulet or whatever To do this you need various item creation feats like "craft wondrous item" aswellas as ranks in a craft skill like "craft alchemy". the better stuff you tryto make, the more ranks you need and the more expensive the ingredients will be. Still, you can get away with a +2 fullplate armour at a cost of just 2-3000g instead of 6-8000 which is the store price. from what I can tell there is no XP cost
  2. Mixing manga and trditional comic art is blasphemy to me. Its like putting jelly on porkchops. My faves are Dave McKean and Ashley Wood, both are very artsy and extremely skilled painters.
  3. Ive met the CEO, nice chap he was. I only play A&A boardgame anyways.
  4. Oh, right.. one of those. Aka. pirated version. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Clean install of WinXP pro + fresh Nvidia drivers(haxxed to fit a laptop) and his computer is now crash free
  5. The problem is that I think hes got one of those XP Home laptops that doesnt come with an actual OS CD, but a pack of recovery discs which will just muck it up again. Also, helping people to reinstall is so booring! "
  6. In PnP play, you protect the spellcasters by having the rest of the party stand in front of them so the enemy cant charge them of will be cut down in a hail of AoO's if he tries. This is impossible to do in NWN because once youve told a party member to go to a location and switch to the next party member, the first one will run off and attack the enemy. I havent found a mode for the AI that is "stay where you are and only attack opponents you can reach from there. I can use the "resetlevel" and "givexp" commands to bring a char to lvl1 and then back up again as another class. Problem is that the first class remains and causes XP penalty. So, Im pretty much stuck as a Sorceror. I couldnt go eldritch knight either because then Id end up being both a weak melee fighter and a weak spellcaster
  7. The way combat works with the "flowing turn-based" and AI really makes it inconvenient to play on the hardcore setting. I wished NWN used the ToEE combat engine.. if it did, I would probably die of joy.
  8. Slightly on-topic: Im many hours into the game now and I realise that maybe it wasnt so much fun to be a spellcaster anyway. All those juicy armours and weapons and smititng your enemy into tiny bits. I cant even be a good artillery because ether the enemy runs up to me and ganks me so I get AoO's when I try to spell, or I end up frying the entire party because they run into my line of fire during those 6 seconds it takes me to cast a fireball. Is there some way for me to reset my levels and stuff by using the console? I know I should be able to reset my exp so I end up at lvl1 and then give me enough exp to level up again to where I was but as a fighty type. But then Ill have that first lvl of sorceror giving me xp penalty
  9. HOORAY I bestow this award upon myself, and anybody else awesome enough to have completed the game. I made this myself http://www.xn--holmstrm-t4a.net/pics/winner.swf
  10. Clean it, and replace fans + heatsinks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cleaned it up and put it through the cold test (running it out on the balcony in -5C) and its not a heat issue after all. His hardrive is severely fragged and he's got about 3 times as many processes running in win as he should have. I recommended defrag and a clean reinstall+patch of NWN2 otherwise we'll have to do a complete wipe.
  11. Id upload that gallery so full of crap.. I mean pictures that the servers would explode )
  12. The challenge is the topic put forth to each artist, we are not challenging each other. There is no contest and no prize to be won. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not even candy?
  13. Also: Being white and thus being unable to even hint at the slightest ethnic joke
  14. A friend of mine with an ASUS laptop keeps getting CTD's becaue its apparently overheating. Oblivion, M&M and now NWN2. What can you do about something like that? Besdies play it sitting on the balcony in the freezing cold?
  15. people who lick their fingers when eating salival noises in general "kotlettfrillor" people who insert "basicly" into every other sentence people that dont really have a taste in music so they listen to completely random things that dont work together. the asian hype, manga and anime people who have no idea what a discussion is about so they butt in and give a 5min speech about something completely irrelevant people who listen to music not for the music but for the style scallies new age stuff, crystals, wiccans, meditative cassette tapes north american indian culture, especially dreamcatchers and paintings of wolves and **** not being able to do ethnic jokes because Im white This might not really qualify as pet peeves but its things I dont like
  16. Well... in some cases that's true. But there are also people who intend to make career in the military, and then there are those who just like to "shoot things"... The reason why one joins the military is irrelevant, though. As Machiavelly put it, "Nature creates few men brave, industry and training makes many". I'm finding it an interesting experience to meet, live and work with people from so many different places and with such a variety of backgrounds. You don't get that anywhere else. But you did join because you couldnt find anything else to do? Or because you wanted to blow **** up?
  17. I strongly dislike the notion of sweets(or sours) in my food. I absolutely hate BBQ marinades with honey or similar in them, not to mention Thai food which is unedible. It's like the ancient Swedish conflict wether you eat mustard or applemash to your christmas ham. Im obviously a mustard man, and I know of a local restaurant where the owner will actually kick you out if you ask for applemash to the ham at the Christmas dinner sm
  18. Is joining the army in Spain the same as other places? Its something you do when youre young, poor, unemployed and out of options?
  19. The only bug that Ive really noticed(I dont bugchase when enjoying a game) is that enemies who get paralysed by sleep effect spells such as "colour spray" will get right back up again in the next round, except theyre still marked as sleeping so you can "coup de grace" them. And if you do, no death animation plays, they just fade away. Really?....Really? I mean, their not bad enough to get in the way of the game play, but "great" is reallllly stretching it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Unless youre running it in atleast 1280x1024 with maxed graphics, you're not seeing the game as its supposed to look and you cant really judge the graphics. I think it looks great, espcially the light effects and speculars on the characters. Some things look kind of NWN1 though
  20. Marmalade with lamb?! You Brits... come think of it.. my lamb isnt really a recipe: Cut the lamb into tiny bits, fry together with chopped garlic and plenty of butter. The primary ingredient is rosemary which you sprinkle over the lamb together with salt when you begin to fry so itll really flavour the grease. When yore done frying the lamb you just make a plain sauce with the cooking grease as base. And dont try to make some gourmet **** out of it, its supposed to be greasy and satisfying. Like a fancy version of bacon&beans.
  21. Parachuting... huuu *shivers* military... blesch! ( Im insanely scared of heights )
  22. My problem is that with only 1gb of RAM, things slow down a bit when theres alot going on in the scene. Other than that an AMD 3200+ with a 7900GTX runs it at full blast@1280x1024 (which is my native res)
  23. I had problems with the autopatcher too but it worked after I uninstalled the prerelease toolset, reinstallled NWN2 and tried a third time
  24. Multi-core CPU's are primarily for multitasking programs and pure "crunch" power like when rendering or compiling. Thats the reason why AMD's gaming line FX used only one core while the X2 CPU used two I wouldnt keep from switching to C2D though, it should still work to play on. And the CPU is always secondary to the GFX when it comes to gaming anyway.
