  1. Eager to play, huh? It'll take a while longer unfortunately. Who isn't... That old man living across my appartment isn't I, myself, mevy much indeed
  2. Walk toggle ONLY if they capture Ministry of Silly Walks animations. Else full sprint only.
  3. First off, I don't believe there is intentional competition between the two games (and companies) and thus the VS seems a bit excessive. Each game is unique and besides the genre they don't have so much in common. Most probably most rpg gamers will try them both. I'm definately one of them. What I want to highlight, though, is that extra mile that Larian took. For starters, they fully voiced thier game when they said it was out of the question at start. It wasn't even a stretch goal. They just felt it'll add to the game and they jist did it. Kudos. Second, and most important, imo, is the udead. In case someone doesen't know what this is about, you can play as undead, which significally changes the game experience. Most people react in fear when they see a skeleton walking and talking and they either run away or attack you. This means you need to always conceal your charatcteristics (head and tosrso) to walk among the rest of the people unnoticed. There are other people or factions who are more open-minded or have different worldviews that might not have problem with you being undead. Being Undead also impacts gameplay where healing spells damage you but you get healed by poison among other neat stuff. Now, this sounds huge. Will Godlikes (Pillars' "weird" race) have that level of love in terms of reactions around you in Deadfire? I'd love that to be the case. Thankfully D:OS 2 comes out long before Deadfire and it looks really really good. I hope Obsidian takes notice and consider to walk that extra mile too, whatever they decide it'll be for their game.
  4. Advice No2: when you feel you need to, do go take a leak or a dump. This will make battles easier to win and the story easier to follow. And, finally, Advice No3: don't take advice from stratngers on how to play the game.
  5. Eager to play, huh? It'll take a while longer unfortunately.
  6. Here's my advice: do not reverse your hands position on mouse and keyboard when attempting to play the game; unless you want to up the difficulty even more.
  7. A very good advice, as I was about to play the game in window mode alongside a window of this forum. Seriously, I don't think I'm coming back to the forums before I finish the game and I'll probabaly dissapear after I leave my review/feedback until an expansion or sequel is announced. Who bothers with forums when playing a game anyway?
  8. It took an entire team of a different company to work on the controller-based gameplay so I think it's pretty hard to implement it for Pillars 2. Maybe if they make a console version for the game later... It basically needs a totally different UI. You can check gameplay videos for PS4, OP.
  9. They're definately taking a buff to the smoke they produce when firing with them. The last update was very clear on that.
  10. Bah, I'm not waiting for "release dates". I'm playing the game right now!
  11. After a long meeting, Obsidian developers decided to make chanters transform into different things. Evil chanters can transfrom themselves to military vehicles, while good chanters will transfrom into construction and service vehicles. Kids will have way more fun playing with chanters this way! In all seriousness, I thought the chanter class to be the most interesting take on the classic(?) bard and Kana (my only chanter) was fun to play. Ridiculous summons! Looking forward to extra chanter awsomeness in the sequel!
  12. This ain't Dyrwood! This is just outside my house! Who's flying drones goddammit!
  13. The descriptive text is particularily annoying in the middle of the sentence (as Messier-31 mentioned) enspecially when it is not needed. As when it describes stuff you already see. Like: "Howdy stranger!" a green hooded figure waves at you. "How's it going?". Yeah, I can probably see the figure wears a green hood - no need to write it down too. Too excessive. Or: Three well armed men enter the room... Yeah I can see they are three and they just entered. Pillars is full of these examples. Writers though they were writing a book or something. A descriptive text should be there only to inform you of things you can't see. Although I could do without it altogether
  14. Btw, Larian decided to go full voice-over for D:OS 2, despite they said it was out of the question at start and not even a stretch goal. I'd like if Obs did the same, given they're much bigger. And leave the narrator out
  15. I already don't like discription in dialogue so a narrator could only worsen (and cheesify) it, imho.
  16. I'd say 1st level cellar rats. Seriously, I got terrified when I have to play a game and it starts with that
  17. Well, I guess since they spent the time to upgrade the idle animations, combat animations of all classes gonna have a big make-over.
  18. I just put it on my ssd and loaded it amazingly fast, everyone should have an ssd :D Everyone should have many things but, sadly, this isn't how the world is. They should find a way to make their game load faster. Everyone can't do everything, they should do everything? Well they did apparently since loading times was an issue they understood and took a new approach to this with the new "streaming system". We'll just have to wait and see how well it works. But "go buy an ssd if you want our game to load faster" surely couldn't be the answer from their behalf.

  20. It sounds fun, but it doesn't make me super hyped tbh They're probably gonna be some xaurip or a golem, a spirit...
  21. In British English yes, in American English (according to Wikipedia) it's spelled saber. However in Pillars of Eternity it was spelled sabre so I'm not sure I trust Wikipedia, not that it matters given I am a Brit. You better trust it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saber_Rider_and_the_Star_Sheriffs
  22. Here's a sample of the new coll animations https://twitter.com/jesawyer/status/897159650541305856
  23. Full VO is a common thing to do, so it can is not insane request, but at this time it just won't happen. It is common but the game won't come in other voiced language than English and French, Russian and German are in line before Polish as one can tell from the main Fig page; so asking for a Polish VO sounds kinda "weird" (as in nationalistic) to me. This in conjuction with "Native English speakers don't realise, but localization without voice acting can easily break the immersion" and "I don't like English language and would love to hear my characters shouting ''Do boju'' instead of '' To battle'". There are other Polish people in here (such as you ) but they don't ask things suspiciously
  24. Does Josh Sawyer know that? He does, that's why he's pushing for one Well, it is loosely based on a rough historical period. As all fantasy rpgs. That doesen't make them historical games though.
