  1. I'm between 3,5 and 5th tbh, but I don't like the DnD system much in general
  2. That's a nice little video to quickly watch and drop an opinion
  3. Conversations with might had to do with "bullying" and scripted interactions with psysical strength, so I believe might in Pillars is strength eventually. Now why someone finds it weird to have your spells powered by your might is beyond me. If magic power in Pillars comes from within it sounds very reasonable that your might makes them stronger. In other games (DnD for instance) it has to do with reading and learning etc it's a differnet approach.
  4. iI can't remember how it was in Tyranny. btw, has anyone checked the resting system in Pathfinder: Kingmaker? Looks fun, although a bit elaborate.
  5. Resting was limited in Pillars 1 anyway. 4 rests in normal diff. Then you have to resupply.
  6. It is not a required stat. You can boost int to have a larger carnage aoe. That's it. But why can't a barbarian be intelligent anyway?
  7. Can we wield a frozen fish for some Monty Python good times? Or a chicken. To go with a full plate armor.
  8. I was thinking beta will begin in December or somewhere around that since the game is for release Q1 '18 and has no delays up to now. Late March I think is most probable. Maybe the same day the 1st was out just for the sake of it So the beta must be a few months active till then so the devs can change stuff in time?
  9. Because it requires so much "intelligence" to know to have an antidote, and elixir of health or a scroll of restoration (or their respective assorted divine spells) right?! It's a "tactical" thing right? ... hogwash. It's a chore... i did it cause i didnt have a choice but it doesnt add anything to the game. It was a time sink basically... In tabletop its fine cause its just a roll of the dice... Ironically, you waste more time in the computer game where you need to wait for each casting animation to finish. In PoE you have injuries as a consequence that are permanent debuffs of various sorts (until you rest, if you have camping supplies)... And it's good enough. No need to make more of a hassle of it in my opinion. Certain specific status effects that are hard to get rid of are fine if they make sense story wise and for me should be related to a quest (like when you were poisoned and had to get the 2 components of the antidote in BG1)... But for me, they shouldnt be stuff you have to deal with every second fight... I don't agree it requires any strategy or whatever to carry some antidotes, but I do think something has kind of been lost getting rid of these kind of things, Level drain, poison persisting after battle etc. It just makes the world feel a bit more dangerous, if you don't have the potion or a heal spell. (Is it heal? can't remember). So... not sure overall. Yeah it's cut out some hassle but there is something lost. Making encounters really challenging or making resources sparse can give you that feeling of the dangerous world out there without having you repeat clicks in a sequence every minute.
  10. A clarification from english native speakers, if you are so kind: "upcoming" means something to happen in near future. But how near? Is it like "literally the next thing coming up" or "sometime in the near future" , like it can be 5 updates later?
  11. ??????? I don’t watch GoT either. I saw first half of pilot episode and decided that if I feel like watching bunch of boobs there are better places to find those than HBO. Not my cup of tea what I am trying to say. I believe the "??????????" of TheisEising was going to "if you don't have an oponion on this, why do you post in the first place?" GoT carried away with the sexibition in the first few seasons. Then they cut it (thankfully) and decide to cut the writing quality as well There are way better series for charachter build and intrigue if you're interested in that ('cause that pretty much what GoT used to be) and if you want to have this in a fantasy setting, well, games do a far better job imo.
  12. Just for reference Thanks. I was too lazy to look it up and post
  13. I just noticed a new(?) graphics feature that I believe is awsome: weapons (the single-handed at least) have proper scabbards! I just noticed it as Eder draws his weapons to give Takehu a good ol' pummel to the face. Neat, huh? Also, I propose the change of the name of "pommel strike" to "good ol' pummel to the face"
  14. Well, artists do portraits they are asked to do. Most probably they are not characters created by them so it's only reasonable they look for inspiration here and there. Say if you were an artists and Josh came and said to you "I have this character in mind, Fassina, who is like this and that, see what you can do" you most probably gonna look to a known to you character with similar characteristics for inspiration. Another thing that might be possible iis that the developers made the choice on purpose. Like they wanted an Ellaria Sand in their game so they came up with Fassina which is an Eoran take of her. This happens all the time. In the original portraits, for instance, there was a male human that looked a lot like Conan the barbarian Pretty sure it was done on purpose
  15. Sometimes this thing with names happen and might be funny initially. I remeber watching The Lasr Airbender series with that girl named Katara, meaning curse in greek and the sequel The Legend of Korra, korra meaning crust (as in bread crust) in greek But that thing with the Dark Eye failed translations is priceless :D
  16. Moderator are you for real right now? Anyway I'm through with this thread anyway.
  17. Games are fantasies by their very own nature. Everything in them, everyt single aspect is a fantasy. It's all wish fulfilment from start to finish. So what i personally find weird is people blaming others for preferring one fantasy over the other. As if fantasies that they prefer are somehow better, more "enlightened". Just ridiculous. Games are fantastic stories in a fantasy (as the genre) setting. Fantasies (as in sexual fantasies) are thougts of one's doings that he or she can't do in reality. Very convinient the word is the same huh? But the meaning is different. You want to have fantasies with you and a portrait? Good, do that. But making a fuss about Ydwin all this time is fanservice demand. And with your post you pretty much confirm my initial argument: the fuss is all about weirdos want to fap.
  18. "I'd like her to be more feminine" = "I'd like to fakk her in game" or "I'd like to fap looking at her" or "fap while fakking her in game". Else what do you care what she looks like? This. Thread. Is. Freaking. Weird. It's all about fapping from the start. There's no thread for any other sidekick/companion. Specific weirdboys making a fuss about Ydwin because of their fantasies. Fakk them and fakk this shyt.
  19. It's easy, you just point and click Noooo mate! I can't read this...
  20. Please: Tell me this is sarcasm. 'She is more than plastic': Married Japanese man 'finds love' with a SEX DOLL - which he takes shopping, on romantic days out and even bathes I can't even click on that!
  21. I told y'all this fuss about Ydwin was about fapping
  22. There's also a word "fassina" in greek (most probably an Italian loan), which is a term to describe the tiresome work of cleaning the house and, in the navy specifically, it means "broom" and is also used as a pejorative for low rank sailors
  23. I just wish the weather get bad sometime soon down here and get me in that mood when I was curling under the blankets at night, watching Pillars 1 beta playthroughs in youtube hehehe. I used to like Sensuki's first couple of videos I mean come on! Apart from the personal 2013 nostalgia thing, when are we gonna put some jackets on goddammit?! I'm sick of wearing t-shirts still
