"Funny" isnt it that if it had tanked at E3 they would have had more time to finish. -
Changed Endgame, Droid Planet Explanations

Chris Parker: I can't speak of what LucasArts wants or if we've had discussions with them, but if we were to do a KOTOR III, I think it would be a large divergence from the first two. We'd need to create a completely new engine, redo the rules system, and take care of a host of other 'things'. Of course, we'd stick to the Star Wars feel and story-driven gameplay. But that's outside of anything we should talk about here. This I like I think the rules need a serious rewrite. Story driven is fine but not at the expence of what you accomplish in the game. -
Women in Kotor 2

The game is reflecting the SW universe and whether people like it or not all of these things are part of that. It's not invented or made up stuff(not by Obsidian at least). -

Women in Kotor 2

When you ask the handmaiden to dance for Vogga she wonders what all the fuss is about. Same when you ask her to get dressed after combat. If you forget to get dressed yourself she has a few choice lines too. I used it for a while (playing female DS) because it makes up for a shortfall in pursuasion. Mira also has a few things to say if you ask her about men (only as a female PC). I just couldnt imagine Kreias part as a creepy old man... Really dont see how that would work at all. -
Women in Kotor 2

Everything else aside, why SHOULDN'T she have male followers as well? She seemed to choose her followers based mostly on them being willing to blind themselves to the Force and follow her teachings exactly. IS there some reason they should be female as well? I don't remember anything about that in the dialogs, though I might hvae missed something as I haven't played a male PC yet. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They are all sisters. I'm not overly familiar with the EU stuff and the echani, perhaps someone else can fill it in. I think they also added more coverage to the Female PC's this time around. Probably something to do with the ammount of time you spend without clothes on Peragus. -
Women in Kotor 2

Would you suggest Atris had "handmen" rather than women? The whole naked fighting thing is something to do with the Echani. So unless your suggesting giving Atris handmen then the only way it will fit is with a woman. You can read what you like into the game but perhaps you should ask if your the one with "issues" not the developers. -
I've never done it from that side. Even as DS the pay Czerka gives is rubbish and the Ithorians are easier to push around. To get into the Ithorian hanger you just talk to the guy behind the desk. There is someone else by the Czerka hanger but you probably talked to him already. Did he give you a lightsaber piece when you talked to him ? And have you resolved the attack and then talked to the woman behind the desk again in the Czerka office?

Dantooine: Fighting Azkul's mercs

With the same party ? Stasis field , set everyone to grenadier and cross your fingers.. So much depends on your powers. If you have force barrier you can play tank while the others support. Easiest way is to to switch to Kreia and have her insanity the lot of them. -
Actually that is what I was expecting at the end rather than just some "this is the future" from Kreia. A voiced over FO style ending for your actions across the planets would have sewn things up nicely.

A Big ********* To Obsidian and LA

Tell that to the people who were in the Bioware forums the day it came out on the PC. Tell that to the people who returned the Xbox version because they got a total gamestopper on the leviathon. When any game is released people flood the boards with complaints. You wont find a single PC game that someone or other dosnt complain is bugged to the gills. Even peoples old favourites PST FO BG etc were buggy on release. PC gaming is like a lottery some games work some games dont it's just not possible to test every configuration out there. As for the Xbox well I've had no game stoppers in 4 games. It did freeze once but since the thing had been switched on for 15 hours thats more than understandable. The game prior to Telos the return was worth 20 KOTORs. Oh yes and read the item descriptions. Just because it's called Exar Kuns armour dosnt mean it is actually his. Ditto with most of the named stuff which can reoccur. -
It reminds me of Obi Wan in EP III.

No you get a different admiral.

A moment of silence for B4-D4
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Shizuka2's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Someone said they did those things. But they have to be done while you are in control of the droid. I just took him straight there I didnt bother wandering around as him so I dont know if they work or not. Maybe on game 5 I will see what he's capable of. I doubt he was ever intended as a character. The character screen would look wrong with 11 slots for one thing. -
Oh you mean the Echani poetry ?

If they are it would have to be the un-named console title..

Unlocking all the Videos

Try playing the game from a different perspective. It's impossible to unlock them all in one go or any number of goes if you do the same things. -
Favorite KOTOR2 Villain?
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Vrook he's just so annoying. And Atris has the audacity to complain that you are so "right" Vrook wrote the book on self dellusion. He was a hard kill too so doubly satisfying even if it did curtail the climb to the lightside a bit. -
The List of Continuity Mistakes
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The Basilisk fits the description that Canderous used in KOTOR almost perfectly. Right to the jets firing at the last second when it looked like you were going to smash into the planet. So is this another case of having to go along with something established by KOTOR ? -
General Discussion About The Game
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to jon_stowell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It works beautifully on the Xbox box. It's one of the most intuative control systems it's been my pleasure to use. People had issues with the PC controls in the first game too. I'm not familiar with either version so I dont know what if any changes they made. -
General Discussion About The Game
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to jon_stowell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Try the stationary AI seems you missed that one. AI also has no effect on the character you are currently controlling. -
40 I think. Realistically you wont get higher than 30 through normal play. There is a little "trick" in the tomb in Koriban that will give you infinite xp in a non cheap way.

What we can do about the state of TSL
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Dehumanizer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
A rules lawyer is someone who plays by every little niggly rule. Thats a far cry from someone who just wants the game to maintain some semblemce of realism and immersion. Same difference , just different use of language. It makes no sense that a character is simply sacrificed on the alter of storytelling whether it be one you have created or one that travels with you. It can be done and it can be done well but in KOTOR II it would have been trite and unrealistic and totally ruined the believability of the game. Thats a reality is everything attitude if you ask me You wouldnt accept automatic death for your character so why should I accept it for someone I travel with ? Yes well you obviously see your companions as a way to advance your ego. It's a common thing in CRPGs. It's the I am all important attitude and everything else in the game is there to facilitate that. It's very common in NwN players. I on the other hand see them as much as part of the world as my character is. They are no less real because I did not create and they deserve to be treated with the same considerations and the same reality that my character is. Or the whole concept of reality and thus the immersion of the game is broken. The sad thing is that 99% of the time this sort of forced storytelling is not required anyway. It would take oh about 5 minutes to come up with a non cheesey Malak encounter. So what if you kill him with saber throw as he runs to the tanks ? Thats much less damaging that having him immortal until he's fully healed thats just cheap.
