  1. In your dreams. NwN's AI sucked thats the only way to put it. It shipped broken with regards to spell casting and even now (hotu) it cant switch between melee and ranged weapons. Still keep the laughs coming it's obvious you have given up on being taken seriously and just play your new troll role these days.
  2. Cant miss him he's part of the storyline.
  3. Clone Wars II starts soon. As for things SW's has "suffered" well if it can survive Droids it can survive anything. And who could forget Ewoks (the cartoon).
  4. But "we" didnt build an eco system. KOTOR did indeed imply that Dantooine was a ball of ash rather than just the Jedi enclave being hit. Otherwise you could have landed and kicked the crap out of the Sith garrison for a bit of light entertainment.
  5. More like Obi Wan in EP I think. Which is a good thing really as it allows the freedom to fall in a very believable Star Wars sort of way. Mira is my favourite candidate because you can fit her "future" into the story.
  6. KOTOR isnt really the sort of game that supports "different". Its not hard so it's pretty much impossible to handicap yourself to a great degree. I did my (think it was second) not wanting anything to do with my "heritage" and it was still quite viable. Although I came to terms with it after the holo from T3. Cant really go solo because there are times when the story wont let you etc.
  7. If I were them and I had the game I would want to wrap it up on the Xbox but at the same time negotiate a new trilogy on the next gens.. Knights of the not so old Republic maybe
  8. In principle I agree but it's VERY difficult to go back in that respect. People now have a level 30ish (50?) cap and unless you do something special they are going to not be happy with a level 10 cap or even a level 20. The majority of people want more power , higher levels not less. (dont take this MB as any sort of reliable benchmark of that). The idea of starting as a Padawan on Coruscant (under the tutilage of someone from the second game has much merit). They could then fill in the blanks for you via flashback.
  9. KOTOR III is possible, though in the same interview they said they would want it to be a "new" game. New engine , new rules etc. Part of me says that the best thing to do would be to tie up KOTOR on the Xbox... And part of me says that KOTOR III would be an Xbox II flagship title..
  10. They would need a publisher whatever. Either to secure the property (LA) or to distribute the game. My personal feeling is that it's something that will come out prior to NwN II to pay the bills.
  11. There is a lot of truth in "your only as good as your last title" But I'd never take a message board as a good indicator of anything.
  12. It wont happen anyway. If they do , then they are in a position to be sued by MS. George vs Bill:Battle of the Sith Lords.
  13. One of the best things about KOTORII I thought was that your "truth" will depend on what your characters experiences are through their interactions. You will get a very different version of events depending on your actions.
  14. It does explain it. High influence with a certain character is the key.
  15. The original purpose of classes was to give you some idea of what role you would play. Both as a character and within the group as whole. If you give someone the class "fighter" it's very clear what they do. If you give someone a set of skills then it's not as easy because they have to have at least some knowledge of how those skills and the levels they have relate to the game as a whole. Originally D&D (and class based in general) character generation was very fast. You roll dice you assign stats you think up a concept and away you go. Champions (the one that sticks in my mind) The first time I DM'd that I had no idea just how long everyone would pour over the books before we could play. As it was it took two regular sessions just for people to create characters. Same with GURPS and GURPS was something everyone was familiar with anyway. There is just something about having a blank slate and a number of points that encourages people to think more mathematically. The other nice thing about classes is it gives everyone a distinct purpose during the game. Where as people with overlapping skill sets are sometimes lost at what to do.
  16. Looking Ahead Chris Parker: Obsidian Entertainment has always planned to be a two-project studio. We could even go to three at some point, but we don't have any desire to grow bigger than that. We are even worried about three projects - we enjoy the unity and closeness of having less than 50 people. Everybody knows each other, we hang out together, and LAN gaming is super sweet. But to address the two-project thing, we have been working on NWN2 for several months, and are currently seeking our third project with a number of publishers. That is something we'd like to start in January or February of 2005. It's almost March so if the plan worked out they are busily doing the third game at this very moment. Considering what is out there what do you think the third project is ?
  17. It would have to be in the game but I'm sure you could blow it up in the prelude. People are not overly fond of the mini games, or you could have upgradable and different ships.
  18. The Handmaiden also does Foster Home for Imaginery Friends Danny Phantom and countless other cartoons. The only one missing is Tara It's a very impressive voice cast.
  19. They do pretty much what they say they do. Jedi support will use buffing powers on entering combat. Ranged will attempt to stay at range and will switch to a melee weapon if they are attacked in melee and then switch back to ranged(which eases my mind a bit on the NwN II front). Stationary WILL sit there like a lemon if they dont have a ranged weapon equipped. But thats kind of obvious given the nature of the command I would have thought.
  20. It's only a flaw if you dont plan for it. If you take people entering each combat at full health vitality and write the difficulty around it , that works out fine. What you really need is some sort of timer for force powers so that you cant simply spam them. Even in places like the cave where FP's wont regen the game didnt get harder so the idea that regeneration is the problem is flawed. Even with NO regen you still have a zillion med packs in KOTOR I and II so all you really do is make a use for med packs. Which btw I never used in either of the KOTORs when playing LS or after getting Death Field as DS.
  21. There mere fact that there was no stationary and ranged AI in the first game just shows what a crock you speak. Next you will be saying the NwN AI is better
  22. Try Gamefaqs.com. If riding Epona dosnt solve the problem I dont know what will.
  23. They should both be exactly the same only the technical details will vary. Each platform has its own tech forum so it's rather pointless really.
  24. Only going on the evidence of what is written. If I was an LA exec I'd have been horrified. I was actually shocked when I read it in the context of a Star Wars game and it's not like I'm squeamish or anything.
  25. Thats almost sig worthy
