  1. The ancient artifact theory sounds plausible. Maybe one of the ancient Sith Lords' ghosts called to him/her.
  2. I prefer turn based. It's easier to co-ordinate your allies actions. Plus, I die like a small fry in first person shooters.
  3. There are pets in the game? Cool. But no pet beats my pet assassin droid.
  4. About the discussion part...well this post exceeded my expectations. I thought it would only at 2 replies but instead inadvertenly, nearly instigated a flame war between fans. But it got people talking about something else other than the delayed release dates, which gets props then. About Bastila, I don't view her character as broken. I've met some people in real life who can be as pretentious, snotty and arrogant as she is but some of them did have that flicker of vulnerability and goodness inside. If you thought she was undecisive, then maybe she was. But consider that she's young, maybe not even 20 and she has this whole fate of the universe thrust on her shoulders. She may have had Jedi training, which I guess is a mixture of Zen and military training, so she knows how to defend herself and kill in battle. But, try to guide someone who is considered a hero in the eyes of the Republic and Jedi? Wouldn't you be a little daunted? A little unsure if what you're doing is the right choice? Wouldn't you wish those tight-mouth Jedi masters opened their mouths and offered their opinions and advice instead of leaving it up to fate? And look where that got them, dead! As for being male-dominated, to me she put Carth and Canderous in their place when they tried their lame machoism. Bastila wasn't weak. If you look at the story, she wasn't weak at all. For instance, she put herself in danger to confront Revan and destroy the Sith menace in the beginning. Secondly, she argued with the Jedi Council about giving Revan back his/her memories because she believed it to be the right course of action. Thirdly, she did not shy from her duty and ran away in hiding like Jolee. And you noticed when there was any cutscene decision making like deciding to go to Dantooine or what escape plan for the Endar Spire, Bastila was the one who made sure a decision was made and stamped down Carth's stupid suggestions. Bastila also risked her life to save Revan from Malak, whereas Carth when given the opportunity ran away like a wuss instead of saving Mission. Some hero of the Republic, huh? Also, for the DS storyline, Bastila served as Revan's right hand. She was the one who anticipated and executed his/her plans. For the LS storyline, you could see that keeping Revan's identity a secret was tearing her up inside. And when you're secret is finally revealed, she didn't hesitate in admitting her place in the deception. What was tragic about the LS storyline was that Bastila might not have been redeemed, and died as a Sith. I frankly was glad to be able to save her. You cannot deny that Bastila had the best voice acting in the game. Jennifer Hale was fabulous. As for cult status, if you look at some of the responses in the forum. It seems she is a cult hero to some. And that counts for something. As for the Revan macho thing... you seem to be under the mistaken impression that Revan's character is set in stone as a guy. Remember, Revan is who wanted him/her to be. And if you wanted, you could play him as a sensitive, Light caring guy.... <_<
  5. Well, the first time. I gave Juhani the Mantle of Force and configured her light saber to give +27 (or something like that) and I gave her the Genorhadarran Gloves. But I still managed to kill her without getting seriously whacked. The other DS times I played, I couldn't bother with supeing them up...which was my fault I guess.
  6. This game could be about anything. This game could be set in Skywalker times. Or it could be with Bastila Shan as a main hero that struggles with herself and grow in force (like Kyle in Jedi Outcast or Windu in Shatterpoint). There are plenty of ideas and plots you can use in such game.Revan isn't neccessary to make such game. I'm sorry but after reading all brilliant SW novels like Thrawn Trilogy or NJO stuff or Shatterpoint, Revan plot would be also dull and schematic to you. As I said before my goal isn't destroying Revan or something like that, and "little hateful man" I am most certain not. You can call Patrick Buchanan or Saddam with that insult. the fact that I don't like some pixelated steroid brainwashed hero means in fact nothing. Quarrel is also a form of discussion and I have right to defend my point of view - in that case my dislike toward Revan It's about time someone set you amateurs straight! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There is no pleasing you is there? I bet that if the game was about Bastila, you'll be complaining how much some people here like her, think she's an interesting Jedi ... and she is a pixelated (not steroid) character. It was a simple question. Do you think Revan or the new Sith Lords was the Sith'Ari? The answer could have been yes or no. But you have turned it into an opportunity to vent / rant your dislike of Revan and then rent into anyone who hasn't read the books or don't think the books are the final word on the Star Wars universe. Okay, I don't think Revan was the greatest Jedi/Sith Lord there ever was. The Luke in the movies has that. But I do think that Revan made an interesting character, irregardless of gender. Secondly, who are you to judge who is an anmateur fan? To me fan has one definition, someone who enjoys and likes Star Wars in any medium they prefer.
  7. I was actually disappointed in fighting Juhani and Jolee because they didn't pose much of a challenge. <_< I hope Kotor 2 will have epic lightsaber duels.
  8. The game is about Revan's destiny, so how could he/she poison the game? Without Revan, there would be no game.
  9. thanks for all your hard work.
  10. 'Tis okay. I'm just came home from a stressful day at work so I probably read it the wrong way. Anyway, next time I ask a stupid question or post just blink once, and twice for really stupid
  11. Oh...sorry then. I do admit I only know Star Wars from the movies and the game. So I guess I'll keep quiet when true fans are talking.
  12. What if you're neutral? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then you get both of them?
  13. Yes, it's how you use the powers that counts! Though sadly, Light Side powers are grossly underpowered. But I think Jedi compensate for that by travelling in pairs or groups. In the new movie triology, the two times we see the LS characters go against the Sith Lords, they went in pairs. It would be cool if LS powers could be force gravity or repulsion that either makes your enemy hit the ground like a bag of cement (making them lose massive vitality points) or as someone else said, repels force attacks back to the attacker.
  14. The Sith'ari was a perfect being who would rise to power and bring balance to the Force. According to prophecy, the Sith'ari would rise up and destroy the Sith, but in the process would return to lead the Sith and make them stronger than ever before I was thinking about this the other day. At first I thought the prophecy referred to Revan but now with Kotor 2 I thought maybe it could be the other Sith Lords? Or maybe your PC character What does everyone else think?
  15. I think the masked sith lord is a new character. And from the mask, I thought he was a cathar (sp?) .. or maybe not <_<
  16. I would love to see Revan, Bastilla, Yuthura, HK and Canderous again. I wasn't too fond of Jolee but I can imagine him becoming an ambassador to Kashykk (or however the wookie homeworld is spelt).
  17. It would be warped if you played LS in Korriban, let Dustil go. Then switched to DS, killed his father and in Kotor 2, DUstil is DS and after your PC because he's on some demented quest for vengence.
  18. I liked playing a Sentinel. But one thing that frustrated me was that there was no special offensive Force powers for the Sentinel class. I think as they are more like a Thief/scout class, they should have more defense bonuses.
  19. I like violet. There's something unnatural and sinister about that colour.
  20. I was thinking maybe Revan left a message for someone to find with the droids like Leia did in New Hope. Just a theory.
  21. In the fanfic I'm working on, I had it that the Jedi Council programmed that both Revan's parents died in part of Sith activities so that Revan would hate the Sith. I agree that I don't think Revan would remember his/her true parents. Or maybe Revan said his/her mother was dead out of malice to stop Bastilla's mother from using his/her family as leverage in her dispute with Bastilla.
  22. Storm to take out multiple enemies, Crush one-on-one
  23. Well...I'm disappointed that I have to wait next year but it's only two months. I think it's unfair to bash the developers, people at LA and the other countless of people who are putting in many hours of their TIME to make us a great game. People should appreciate the effort that goes into this. So, I would rather wait 2 extra months for a great game than a bug riddled one.
  24. I prefer single. It looked 'noble' and deadlier.
