Didn't IWD2 reuse a bunch (all?) the IWD1 portraits?

FFS. I seem to recall Josh saying quite explicitly that beta VO was temporary. Some of you people, I swear. Daily prediction of doom done yet?

A thank you to Obsidian for the localization :)
Flow replied to Zwiebelchen's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Har. Because they can. There's enough German speakers that it makes economic sense. Dubbing is also very common for Spanish and other larger languages. There's no profit in dubbing smaller languages. Personally, I much prefer subtitles, but we English speakers get such a small percentage of our media in foreign languages that I guess I haven't felt the pain of having to watch every movie with text on screen. -
Pretty disappointed, this launches in December?
Flow replied to khermann's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
But is a petition really the right way to go? I mean, if only we had a forum for posting our suggestions, criticisms, and bug reports. That would the coolest thing ever. -

It seems they're pretty committed to releasing this year. -

Hey, I resent that! I mean, I'm not that old! I concede you could be both young and small. Also, my use of "queen" is not intended to disparage or imply membership in any particular gender -- either biological or self-identified. -

Nope, you're still a big old drama queen. As is the OP in this case. I feel quite strongly that attempting to gauge readiness for December release before we've even seen the first beta update is completely unwarranted speculation, but if you fellas want to waste your time on such things, be my guest. As has been noted many times, this forum is here for people to say what they like within the bounds of reasonable civility. -
Unfortunately, BG-size portraits don't scale very well to PoE.

If anyone has a favorite site for portraits, feel free to post it. Preferably images that scale to PoE size without looking too horrendous.

Have I just pissed all my faith in this game down a pee hole?
Flow replied to khermann's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
I'll sure try to keep my tongue away from your a$$hole, but I'd suggest that what you just posted isn't very helpful. Rather than an unfocused thumbs down, specific examples of what you think makes the game so far a "B class production" might actually make the final product more to your liking. -
Yes. It's easy to do. Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Pillars of Eternity - Public Beta\PillarsOfEternity_Data\data\art\gui\portraits\player Match the file name format, file type, and resolution. Basically, you need two PNG files: 210x330 and 76x96. BTW, I've been looking around for a Photoshop oil painting filter to give photos a painterly look, but so far haven't found anything that looks decent. If anyone knows of one, let me know. Totally unnecessary. The game understands JPG files just as well, possibly others. The resolution can be higher, and if you're playing on a high-res display, it should be higher or the portraits will be blurry. The only thing that really matters is the aspect ratio - the game will stretch portraits to fit. Good to know, thanks. Not a fan of stretching, though. Crop is your friend.

Ogre Head not recognized/disappears
Flow replied to ctdavids's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
FWIW, I had the same problem on Tuesday. No saved game, unfortunately. Will try again to see if I can reproduce it. -
Is there a way to split stacked inventory items? If not, that should obviously be in the "to do" list.

In the book "Dyrwood Part 1" found upstairs in the Dracogen Inn, the text "trial by" is overlapping and obscured by the stylized first letter. Same problem with "Moons of Eora" book. Seems to be common. Edit: Seems to be a problem with text scaling. At 100%, it's fine. Moving down to 70%, it gets progressively worse (lots of text overlapping the first letter). Resolution used: 1920x1200

Those people at gamescom were writers and designers, not the people who will be actively fixing the issues that everyone is posting about who are programmers and scripters. Adam Brennecke's title is "Lead Programmer." Not that it matters since a few days in Germany aren't going to affect project delivery.

The game doesn't deal with multi-monitor edge scrolling very well. In order to activate scroll on the second monitor side, you need to carefully hover over the edge until scrolling activates. You should be able to throw the mouse over to that side and have it stop at the barrier between monitors while activating scroll.

I don't believe Obsidian obtained the rights to Boo, unfortunately. No problem. New companion: Spoo, the extradimensional bunny.

Backer Beta Information [Not Live Yet]

Defeatist talk. -
Sounds about right. I hope no one really expect them to launch in the middle of the night PDT.
