  1. The scroll bar in the Talents selection box doesn't recognize mouse wheel scrolling. Seems to work fine in other places.
  2. Right you are, click on the 2. That's... not great web design. I'd be curious if it actually lets you complete the order. Anyway, I obviously can't answer your original question. Click on the support link and ask.
  3. I may have misheard, but didn't Josh say fairly recently that they wouldn't be implementing user-accessible scripting in PoE? No doubt it's possible to tweak such things by diving into the C code, but that's quite the same thing.
  4. That´s a fact---but it´s not consequent if you remeber that you can still place NEW orders containing physical items! Or, in other words: The one Dollar backer can "upgrade" (by placing a new order) to PhysCollEdtion for 145$, the DigiCollectors can do it for 145$---> there´s something wrong with this, isn´t it? Either Obsidian should remove that option---or give all backers "real" upgrade capabilities! ? Link what you're seeing. You can add a few digital items to existing pledges, or you can place a new pre-order for digital copies. I see no option to buy the physical collector's edition.
  5. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/66606-update-83-backer-portal-backer-beta-and-wasteland-2-keys/?p=1474907 Changes and additions to physical items were locked back in August. You should still be able to add various digital rewards, though.
  6. Compared to? It's a DA game. I'd say combat is better than DA2, but not as good as DA:O. The biggest problem is the camera. First person is confusing, and the tactical camera doesn't zoom out far enough so you have to scroll around the battlefield just to see all the enemies you're engaging. I'm not far enough along to comment on the story or the writing.
  7. I just started it last night. I'd have to play quite a bit at all difficulty levels to know for sure, but at this point it's hard for me to imagine any scenario in which DA:I combat is worth comparing to IE games or PoE. It's a DA game. You select targets and mash buttons. Sadly, it now comes with no mouse button mapping which is a fairly annoying bit of regression. So, yup... it's a modern Bioware game. You don't play them for a tactical challenge.
  8. I admire the dedication, but I'm not sure I'd spend any effort reporting bugs on a version we'll probably never touch.

  10. I tend to agree. Was in-game attribution part of the reward? If not, just stick it in the credits.
  11. Powerful urge to punch this Jesse Cox guy.
  12. Don't certain European countries (mostly Germany) restrict showing bloody bits in games? I'd hate to see gibs turned into technicolor confetti in some regions.
  13. Dear Douchetasche, Stop trying to rip people off. Thanks
  14. I blame the industry. Widespread abuse of the term "beta" has led people to expect it actually means "demo".
  15. Yup... install 64-bit Win7. If you bought a physical copy, you should already have 64-bit media. Assuming you're legit, the license covers both versions. At the very least, you'll then be able to use all 4GB of the RAM you've already got installed.
  16. Performance has definitely taken a large steamy poo on my system. Probably not worth caring about now as optimization passes will come later, but still annoying. At the very least, I think the new skill/talent system does a better job of explaining skill affects. I can understand objections, but I see some contradiction in people wanting both maximum flexibility and the ability to compartmentalize combat and non-combat talents. At some point, you have to make choices about the kind of character you want.
  17. VRAM is a pretty bad measure of how powerful a card is, anyways. Many "mobility" (i.e. laptop) chips have 2x-3x more VRAM they could feasibly use - if not worse than that. I have no idea why that is, but it's not very unusual to see some super low-end GPU have 2GB of VRAM with no way of ever actually using it - compare that with, say, the old 8800 GTX, which had, what, 256MB of VRAM, and still outperforms many of the lower end series cards that came out way later that have 4-8x as much and of a higher quality? So yeah. Used to be true. Not so much any more. Games are appearing that actually use significant VRAM... or at least will use it if you opt for huge textures. Shadow of Mordor, Assassin's Creed Unity, etc. This seems mostly to driven by the fact the latest consoles have a lot of VRAM. Though attached to fairly underpowered GPUs compared to the latest desktop cards.
  18. Probably. I meant I hope there isn't a "oh, ****... download the day 1 patch or you won't be able to complete character creation" type of problem. See my initial post. I think expecting a perfect disc copy these days is misguided, and I certainly don't want them sitting on the physical distribution for weeks after the digital version has come out.
  19. Of course they can. I sincerely hope they won't have to. Again... that's why we're all waiting an extra few months.
  20. If the release version isn't playable, we have bigger problems than what's on the DVDs. Getting it right is kinda the point of delaying another few months. Physical version should be (and will be) the same as initial digital release. Of course there will be patches. Hopefully relatively minor ones, but it is the 21st century and all. "No network access required" is not a goal Obsidian should be shooting for. That's taking nostalgia a bit too far.
  21. I remember the original Castle Wolfenstein on the C64. Not sure there ever was a game called Escape from Castle Wolfenstein. http://wolfenstein.wikia.com/wiki/Wolfenstein_series
  22. I certainly haven't aged out of video games in general, but tastes change as you get older. I used to love shooters, now they bore the crap out of me.
  23. My reflexes are sharper than they've ever been, and I'm no teenager. I admire the optimism, but trust me. The downhill curve is inevitable.
  24. Hehe... 29 = "old". Made me laugh. I was several years out of college/university when BG2 came out. Still play plenty of video games. Single-player CRPGs are perfect for the, erm, "mature" gamer. You can play whenever you have the time, and they don't require teenage reflexes. I suspect the average PoE backer is a good bit older then the OP thinks.
  25. Here's the real question. Is that a CRT you bought in the day and never got rid of, or did you actually go shopping for used CRTs just to support your low-res gaming habit? I think we all know the answer.
