  1. My tablet is crying its little silicon eyes out that you called it "trash". There's no call for that. We're all just atoms, man.
  2. Serve no purpose? Serve no purpose?!? Oh, my good man. How misled thou art. Few things in life are more sacred than 30 minutes spent in the lavatory reading through a 100+ page manual of your most recently purchased game. Just because the opportunity to do this is fading like a stinky toilet in the wind, is it no indication that the activity is any less rewarding or wonderful than it ever was. It's much like the drive in theatre or the vinyl record. Some great things just have a way of fading away over time. 'Tis sad indeed. Not at all. The proud tradition of reading while dropping a deuce is still with us. The difference being the book/manual has been replaced with a tablet/e-reader. In other words, I'm fine with a PDF manual. The important thing is content, not the format it comes in.
  3. Considering the Atari 2600 was out before PCs were affordable for most people, it's probably fair to say consoles came first.
  4. Not to be a smart ass, but come on. The internet. UTC = PDT+7
  5. wut?! pushing "z" highlighted all the interactive stuff. The first thing I did after installing NWN2 was map it to tab.
  6. I don't even need the 'Iron Will' for this, 25$ for a Beta is like paying some one, to do their job: Dude, I pay you 50$ if you allow me to mow you lawn / I pay you to $$ if you allow me to run a bugfix in your Framework / etc. I think it's possible you might be missing the point of crowd funding. Many, many people have happily dumped more cash into this project than it's objectively worth because they wanted to see this game get made. Paying to help make it the best game it can be (i.e., provide beta feedback) makes perfect sense in that context.
  7. D:OS had several million in funding before the Kickstarter.
  8. So, right now we know precisely nothing about: a) How long the beta will run b) How content will change over the (quite possibly) 4+ months of the beta So many assumptions being made. So likely to be wrong.
  9. Grass moved by wind or by characters passing through it? I'm guessing the former is much easier than the latter.
  10. It's certainly the early favorite for "best PoE animation". If they actually do a full musket reload, I might cry a little.
  11. My physical copy will go right on the shelf, likely without ever seeing the inside of a DVD drive. I'll redeem my digital copy on Steam. Cuz easy updates. Once the expansions have been compiled into the inevitable "gold" version, I'll probably buy it on GOG, too.
  12. I love the animations for the most part, but it would be nice to see a hit/no hit fleshed out a bit. The ogre's club overlapping with character models without a reaction isn't great.
  13. This one actually shows the ogre. Added bonus: no annoying Twitch guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM7zCl_cJuk
  14. It's a fair observation. Bugs that could have been caught by a pool of thousands of play testers will escape notice, but they're unlikely to be major bugs. I'm much more interested in the opportunity to provide feedback on look, feel, and mechanics. Which is exactly what we'll be doing.
  15. Presumably. In addition to Obsidian being a much larger studio than inXile, they also have access to Paradox employees for play testing.
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if a bit more content is added over the next couple of months, but Sawyer seems pretty committed to not spoiling the main story before final code is released. Pretty sure I'm OK with that.
  17. I think he meant that part, perhaps. Or... he was asking how long the beta will run. In which case, my guess is they'll keep updating until final code is released.
  18. Considering Mac and Linux combined make up about 10% of PC users, the fact that most everyone develops on and for Windows first should not surprise you. Obsidian committed to delivering Mac and Linux versions of PoE, and I'm sure that's what they'll do. They did not promise to deliver all platforms simultaneously in beta. Unity is a cross-platform engine from the start, so I doubt the delay will be lengthy.
  19. Curious what you mean by this. I've watched the recent videos, and I'm not quite sure where you see pathfinding problems.
  20. Closed Jan 5? Really leaning into that long weekend, aren't they? Ok, change mine to Jan 6.
  21. You're not. Once confirmed, changes can't be made to a pledge without administrator intervention. Rumor has it they're working on opening up add-ons for everyone, but no official date on when that's going to roll out.
  22. There isn't. I strongly suspect you shouldn't take that tweet too seriously.
  23. It wouldn't surprise me if they open it up to all backers late in the beta cycle.
