  1. The best damage is with the double cannons. You can park at 400ish range, stop, fire, jibe, stop, fire, repeat basically. With 3 star cannoneers you should have 100 accuracy 48-60 damage per 5 turns. Edit: With galleon. Without the whole jibe business, golden cannons do most dmg I think 8-something 400 range 5 turns. You can brace/deal with damage in between shots.
  2. I'm guessing from a gameplay perspective conjured weapons are not meant to be perfectly on par with unique upgradeable weapons considering the fact that you don't really need to find and upgrade the spells. You just hit a level and you got access to it etc. Not that all unique weapons are hidden behind incredible challenges but there's usually a cost associated with having them reach their full potential and customizing them, not to mention you need to know where they are or which quest rewards what without going all out metagaming. You may never see a unique pike during a playthrough for example but Citzal's Spirit Lance will always be there guaranteed. Now if there were some unique spell books hidden out there with fancy conjured weapons in them... that would be something.
  3. From what I can tell, you can avoid most of the companions leaving the party by simply leaving them on ship. I mean I went along with Vailians' explosive plan with Maia on ship and she was still with me afterwards. Same with Pallegina (though she did leave when I messed up the feuding families quest [and didn't when I left her on ship before doing it]). All this was after finishing their companion quests btw, if that's relevant. Tekehu was the only one who left a note for me and took off even when on ship and at max approval.
  4. It's the first island southwest of Neketaka. I think Oswald quest was there.
  5. I've finished a playthrough with rogue/ranger today and you should know that withering strike is not worth it for the cost. And you should also know that Driving Flight ranger skill is the main appeal of going ranger with rogue in my opinion, so you can sneak attack like this (one bullet) or this (one arrow) with the right weapons (Eccea's and Frostseeker). Hit to crit abilities of rogue work very well with ranged rangers. Since my ranger was a ghost heart, I didn't use the animal companion as much but when I did, it worked better as a road block than significant dps. Didn't upgrade it much though since you need most of the skill points you get with rogue/ranger for yourself.
  6. Oathbinder's Sanctum is about 4 floors deep, there's that. But it doesn't take very long.
  7. Since they are not in the text that comes with the voice I end up accidentally skipping those half the time and feeling bad about it later...
  8. Ok I found the save and this link should lead it > This link The issue happens every time when I talk to the guard and ask him about the dead guy.
  9. I cleared the map, reputation never moved.
  10. It doesn't have to be the exact fight, I just wanted to say that it would have been good to have a somewhat lengthy challenge region, like the endless paths, where combat is more optimized towards higher level/geared parties. Like a place where you can go "alright, I'm as good as I can be... Time to take on the mother of all dungeons". It's natural for the main quest path to be optimized for parties that aren't fully geared/leveled since not everyone does all the sidequests etc. But having some of the harder type zones makes it appealing for people who do everything :D
  11. I agree with what you said here. After completing the game, I was surprised that there wasn't an adra dragon or Llengrath type battle to really make things interesting. On Vet, the only encounters I had trouble with were against fampyrs and that's cause they used MY party members against me :D Oh well, time for a PotD playthrough to see how that goes.
  12. One thing to note is that the ships are finite. One you take down every ship there is, that's that. You're the only captain in the region :D Wish the factions got regular reinforcements..
  13. The problem with summoned weapons is that they don't become legendary until your wizard hits the level cap and they don't really have as many tricks as the good weapons you find yourself. Blackbow is the only one I used often for the foe jump+terrify effect but less for damage more for CC. Other than that though you can have a pretty decent multi class weapon wizard. You can cast 10 buffs on yourself in like 3 seconds (pretty much every enchantment buff) and then just wade in using weapons you find. It gets the job done.
  14. I got both multi and single classes to max level and they have the same number of empower (5) and proficiency points (7 weapons + unarmed). Their class resource is less for each class (11 pure, 9/9 multi). Also proficiency is used for some items (%30 grazes converted to hits with proficient weapons type descriptions etc).
  15. Wish I hadn't upgraded the lantern. Now I can't use it anymore since a third of the beneficial spells she casts get eaten up.
  16. I thought 4 was max at first too but it's actually 2 I think. The empty ones on the left are for disapproval and fill with red if you make them mad. Edit: There are also items like this with 2 levels of approval that goes along with 2 max reputation - Item
  17. This started happening to me when I picked up Eccea's Pistol as well (combined with Scordeo's Trophy). It gets into the constant reloading loop every now and then. Once it does that I quick load and continue from there now (happening too often though). Never had a problem with Scordeo's+regular pistol till then (90 hrs in).
  18. This just started happening to me too after finding Eccea's Arcane Blaster. I don't know if it's related to that weapon but haven't had any issues with my regular pistol+Scordeo's Trophy combination till I got that gun (90 hrs into the game). I don't know what causes it, reload gets interrupted or something and from that point on it's all reloads. First time it happened to me was when a Lich interrupted my second shot with Terrify. Issue gets fixed if you load a save from BEFORE it started happening.
  19. Tell me more, please. Half the crew combat experience or half the crew sailor experience? I'll just post the screenshots of one battle done both ways. Sink Board 1 - Board 2 - Board 3
  20. You do lose loot if you sink the ship, about half the loot at least if not more (one ship I sunk first/boarded after load had 3 times the loot including legendary gear). Stuff like flags and cannons also usually disappear when sunk. If you board though, you get half the crew experience since the captain takes care of everything :D
  21. Ciphers are more weapon and Will-attack oriented. They do more damage than wizards with weapons thanks to biting/draining whip, and have access to really cool powers like mental binding (very cheap paralyze/immobilize), Ringleader (25+ sec AoE charm? Yes please), and phantom foes (pretty much every enemy is flanked, like heaven for rogues in your party) and more. And you can cast the spells over and over and over so long as you do damage, so they are pretty good at long fights. Lighter armor is usually better for them since they need to attack and cast fast. Keep the enemy blinded/paralyzed etc and hit them a bunch, then repeat etc. High dex and perception are useful to get the abilities stick and be quick. That's how I usually play them.
  22. My ship crew has been stuck at 4 stars for ages now while the captain keeps gaining. Had me wondering. Is there a cap to how good the crew can get? Crew members are about to hit 110 xp and they've been at 4 stars (either 4 for one job or a mix 3+1 etc) for a very long time. The only exception I found was at brass citadel. There's a 5 star (3+1+1) recruitable member there but she's not getting any better since I got her either. Edit: Just to answer my own question after completing the game, yes 4 stars is the most they get (with one exception at brass citadel) at 25 crew xp iirc. If you want a 4 star deckhand for example, you need to grab one that ONLY has deckhand star and nothing else.
  23. Wish sitting was possible too! I usually walk into an inn, find an open table and gather the party there before doing the party-talk backstory delving bits. Would have been nice to sit :D
  24. So it's there as a disguise then? Good to know! I guess I was overthinking it with the reputation thing :D
