  1. I think (but don't quote me on this) that the bonus from One Handed Style also applies when you're going weapon + shield, which makes it a good choice for tanks with non-pumped PER and/or in a priest-less party.
  2. There is no 5th short story; Chris Avellone's novella is available through Obsidian's backer portal, from your GoG library from within the PoE tab, or within your game extras folder in your Steam PoE installation directory.
  3. I will play Tyranny, but probably only after I'm done with my next PoE play through--and definitely I won't be on the Paradox boards (although I may register to report bugs if I feel strongly enough about the game.)
  4. The party I've been testing lately is also the strongest, and though it could be stronger still just swapping a couple characters, it already makes the game so easy I'd rather keep the current low-maintenance setup. - Glass of Pain protagonist - Hired Tank of Pain - Hired The Unfaithful (Priest) - Hired The Last Unicorn (Chanter) - Hiravias with the Thundercat build - Zahua with a light-armored DPS build Thundercat at high levels is literally an "I win" button. The moment Rotflol Storm goes off, the fight is won without breaking a sweat (including Concelhaut and Llengrath.) The Unfaithful is so good I don't even. Replacing the tank with a nova-nuke Wizard or a melee Cipher would be even more powerful but, as I mentioned, there's no need for more power and I like the lower maintenance. Besides, the tank looks stylish as heck XD
  5. EDIT: please ignore this. False alarm.
  6. Heh, you aren't kidding—even without the Tidefall version I've just described (which I doubt I'll post in the build thread anyway) there's 5 of them already. Guess I just really, really love to play Fighters EDIT: @Boeroer - the implications of that title would likely have the thread moved to an X-rated forum
  7. So I've been doing some testing with Tidefall on the LoP, seeing as it was my original weapon of choice before I went BotEP and obsessed over getting zero recovery for the build. With 20 DEX (and keeping INT at 10) and swapping the Sanguine Plate for Osric's Family Armor, I could get down to a 10.4-frame recovery using Vulnerable Attack: Recovery : 100% + 40% breastplate + 20% Vulnerable Attack - 20% Armored Grace - 15% Durgan Steel = 125% Bonuses : 50% DAOM * 15% Gauntlets of Swift Action * 15% Durgan Steel = 98% 125% - 98% = 27% recovery before DEX On a two-hander, that's 50 * 27% = 13.5 frames With 20 DEX, or a 30% action speed bonus, it becomes 13.5 / (1+0.3) = 10.4 frames (and of course the attack animation also plays 30% faster) That's pretty good considering Tidefall gets a lash and the Legendary enchantment on top of Wounding and healing back 20% of the damage you deal (as has been mentioned, of course.) Besides, Osric's Family Armor looks pretty neat on its own, and with Maegfolc Skull as well. You give up 4 DR and 10 frames of recovery and gain quite a bit of extra DPS. I still really like to use the BotEP and get 0 recovery, but this is yet another way the LoP can be built to look badass while kicking ass
  8. Potions of DAOM last more than enough for me on PotD. Granted, the first half of the game won't be one where you can sustain 0 recovery all the time, but pretty much all fights that matter are in the second half anyway If you need the potion to last longer, you can do so via Survival bonuses.
  9. Are you 100% sure you're on 3.04? The patch is still in beta so you must enable beta patches in your Steam settings to get it. Your game version is shown in the bottom left corner of the screen when you're on the main menu.
  10. Most of Expert Mode can actually be replicated by means of menu options, so I'd keep it off (don't think you can turn it off after selecting it at the beginning, but don't quote me on that.) At a later time you can go to the option menu and hide any helpers you find superfluous. Story Mode and PotD both alter the game's rules; other than that, I wouldn't pick "Easy" as "canon." Either Hard or Normal; probably Hard based on limaxo's post.
  11. It's written in the post you quoted.
  12. Back on topic, Chanters can be made to hit pretty hard. Not as hard as Fighers or Monks, perhaps, but still hard. I'm using Boeroer's The Last Unicorn build in my pre-3.04 party testing sessions (I'm OCD like that) and with but a couple buffs (and its weapon enchanted to Superb + lash), its Accuracy and damage are nothing to sneeze at. The only drawback is that it hits rather slowly, in part because I needed to use Durgan Steel and Gauntlets of Swift Action on other characters. A potion DAOM ameliorates that to an extent, but everybody else in my party attacks a lot faster (that's largely due to my preference for fast-paced aggro, which leads me to optimizing attack speed as much as possible across the board.) But yeah, a well-built protagonist Chanter can be made to hit hard and at a decent speed, on top of passively chanting and healing the party (and casting invocations to boot.)
  13. A durganized Blade of the Endless Paths with a lash and a potion of DAOM I know, I know ... tired old song and all XD
  14. +1 Great work on the PoE soundtrack. There are some tracks in the base game and the Stalwart theme in TWM that are just SO good!
  15. Use I.E. Mod; it lets you cheat without typing IRoll20s
  16. Gotta type "IRoll20s" first to enable cheat codes
  17. You make a fair point, but the same could be said about the bog dragons which provide the scales to legendasize your armor. That's an actually challenging fight that doesn't leave much content with which to enjoy your legendary armor afterward. With that said, I don't think the Kraken should be harder than the dragon fights; more like on par with them. Right now, even fixing the DR bug it remains easier than Adra Dragon, which is supposedly a 12th-level enemy. You need to put in some real effort to be only level 12 when you face the Kraken. In my current game my party is level 14 (protagonist's 15), with character builds over 90% complete even in terms of equipment, and most tough fights are still untouched (including the last two bounties from PX2 and some bounties from the base game.) Even with DR 8, the Kraken will go down really fast (most of my party members have 5 DR bypass, which leaves the Kraken with a measly 3.)
