Which faction will you ally with first?
CottonWolf replied to Heijoushin's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I'm going to aim for a locals/pirates alliance to throw back the colonialists, if that's possible.

Any chances to see oriental weapons like in BG2?
CottonWolf replied to helmino's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I want wooden weapons bladed with shark's teeth. (They're real and cool. Google them.)

CottonWolf replied to Rekombo's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The anime is coming from inside the forum!

After fig campaign
CottonWolf replied to ericdy's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Personally I'd like one big meaty update once a month. Means that they don't have to worry about it most of the time.

Revamped Spellcasting Mechanics?
CottonWolf replied to Dark_Ansem's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)In the current system empower gives 3 points of power. When you level up you get +3 points to your levelled class and +1 point for your other class. I think it actually gives 3 power levels worth of power? Which is equivalent to 6 levels? I imagine Josh'll do an update on it at some point to clarify.

From the Twitch Q&A: enchanting and ceiling
CottonWolf replied to Boeroer's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Mythic - 0 (they're all uniques, it's not enchantable), Legendary - 6, Superb - 8(?) And I think that it's a combination, so a total of 6 legendary enchants across weapons and armour, and likewise superb. That's my understanding anyway.

Stretch goal discussion!
CottonWolf replied to TheisEjsing's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Plus associated reactivity - mutiny etc. I actually thought the crew goal was a particularly good one.

Stretch goal discussion!
CottonWolf replied to TheisEjsing's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The ultimate unachievable goal. Taunting us. I have come to terms with 7 companions at this point. I don't see that they get $600,000 in extra money before they need to lock down features, at which point it's too late for an 8th.

Stretch goal discussion!
CottonWolf replied to TheisEjsing's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I assume that the Sea Monsters are basically a "bonus boss" stretch goal.

Has Fig charged your card yet?
CottonWolf replied to dolgion1's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)That would make sense. I was in the first 100, and got charged within 10 minutes of the end.

Paypal backing ?
CottonWolf replied to obsinaut's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I thought they said they were going to take a few weeks to transfer them over and they put out a Fig update when they were done?

Rejoice! Black Isle Bastards 100% funded! Stretch goal: 55% funded! Thank you everyone!
CottonWolf replied to Fluffle's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I threw in a bit. This'll be a nice throwback.

CottonWolf replied to TheisEjsing's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I'd speculate... 60 days?

Keeping or Reacquiring items from the first Game
CottonWolf replied to Whosdriving's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)In fairness, if I were going to go for a Golden Pantaloons equivalent, the Disappointer is what I would choose. It's infamous enough that most fans probably know about it. Plus it's entertaining.

A serious discussion towards Ydwin and animancy
CottonWolf replied to molotov.'s topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)They've said that they're going to have a more nuanced portrayal of animancy in 2. They acknowledge that they really didn't show it in the best light in 1. (Though some of the people in the Sanitarium seemed well intentioned if inept.)

crazy ideas you like to have (but most likely not get)
CottonWolf replied to Madscientist's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I never found anything it did in NWN, but it was one of my favourite fluff things. I really think it's a good idea. It, presumably, would just act like a second background and occasionally unlock dialogue options.

Stretch goal discussion!
CottonWolf replied to TheisEjsing's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Ah, you Americans and your silly (read: different) holidays. I guess the update will probably be Tuesday then.

The Dwarven Companion Recovery Front
CottonWolf replied to Messier-31's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)That's probably the coolest druid art I've seen. Pig-druids, best druids.

Stretch goal discussion!
CottonWolf replied to TheisEjsing's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yeah, that was almost $200,000 all at once. Presumably they wanted to guarantee relationships by the time of the next update so they could announce a stronghold related goal tomorrow?

What would you like to see change for Paladins in Deadfire v PoE1 (or any other class)?
CottonWolf replied to PneumaticFire's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Problem is, at that point they'd be competing directly with chanters, who can do that, but better. They either need to stay in the jack of all trades role or get a complete design from the ground up, to do something that wouldn't clash with one of the other "pure" classes.

Unbelievably Premature Party Planning, Ahoy!
CottonWolf replied to prototype00's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I was thinking: MC - Deadfire Pale Elf Bleak Walker, with a couple of levels barbarian for frenzy and carnage (took Outlanders Frenzy as a talent in 1) - DPS/Support Eder - Fighter/Ranger(bear) 50/50 - Tank + Off-tank Xoti - probably pure priest - Support Seraphen - pure cipher - CC Then Aloth or the mysterious aumaua in the fifth position as pure DPS

Stretch goal discussion!
CottonWolf replied to TheisEjsing's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I'd put (a small amount of) money on the second one on that list. And I think an 8th companion isn't unlikely, we won't get a 9th though.

Stretch goal discussion!
CottonWolf replied to TheisEjsing's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)My ideal stretchgoal at this point would be for them to dramatically increase the reactivity to backgrounds/class/previous choices. No "new" content, just for them to go back through the stuff they've already made and add as many reactions and gated player dialogue options as the writers think make sense in the situations. Even if they don't have dramatic consequences and just represent another path to the same final dialogue node, it feels good when the game acknowledges who your character is and what they've done.

Care to guess the names of the other multiclasses?
CottonWolf replied to Heijoushin's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I think both of these are fantastic names for Ch/Pr.

Worried about companion reputations
CottonWolf replied to Selky's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)My worry about this is that, if it's disposition based, you could easily end up with a situation where every possible companion disapproves of, say, cruel actions, but you have to take them because you're playing a paladin or priest that has that as a favoured disposition. So you end up with everyone hating you. Hopefully it'll be better implemented than that though.
