  1. You're kidding right? I've been playing a Cipher and honestly, she's got focus pouring out of her pointy little ears. Focus is not a problem. If you want endless spell casting, roll a Cipher. As i said, "hard fight" , when you find a boss with 100 Deflection or more you dont get your focus back. you need to keep debufing him to be able to hit him but you cant couse you have no focus .. then you feel that wizzard really usefull. (and yes , my main is a cypher, im lvl 12 already , and i do more damage with him than all my other party members together , well its really min maxed so .. xD)

Ill tell you 1 i did for testing, and a pick xD Get an amauma or well ... im sure i wrote it wrong .. xD (the one with bonus against knock down) 21 10 18 9 10 10 goes well , you can change the 3 last ones .. for example i will drop the int and get it at 3, and do a 21 10 18 10 3 16 , probably the best will be 21 10 18 18 3 8 but you will need to use some item to get your will saves up (about mid game you will found some mind controll monsters) get Goldpact Knights. for talents and skills. The acuracy aura The flame sword skill (dump the lay of hands) two handed weapon stile scion of flame +20% fire damage Intense Flames Enduring Flames – only for Goldpact Knights. for weapon focus i will say get the one of estocs (the two handed with dr reduction) there is one talent for marking targets 3 per day that gives you +25 % damage agains the marked or something like that. there is another talent that gives you -attack speed and + damage, modal, but im not sure if you can use it at the same time as the aura, save before level and test it. and then get one o +2 to all saves and the ones that give bonus killing enemies Enchant your weapon to do fire damage ... And i think thats enought for starting .. (if you have a chanter in your party there is a chant of +25 fire damage per hit that is really strong) Extra notes: You can also dump con if you manage to survive and change it for more deflection as 21 4 18 18 3 14.. or 21 4 18 15 10 10 . Its really your choice ... same with armor, not armor gives you + attack speed but since you are mele you probably need a good one ... what one ? your choice ... + armor = - attack speed. I use the heaviest one with mine but i want my 2 melee chars (tank and paladin) to be able to survive a few hits. PD: sorry for my bad english xD If you go a little crazy you can get 2-3 swords and enchant them to slay .. 1 for killing kith, 1 for killing beast .. 1 for undeads ... (yes is a little crazy, but you can do it, the slayer bonus is really good)
  3. the bonus does not stack... if you get 2 items with +2 just 1 works (you can see it in your character sheet) .. You can get bonus from diferent sources ... 19 int + 2 int from rest bonus +2 int from item bonus +3 int from food bonus + ect.
  4. I think, for how damage reduction works , that the best option is always bigest weapons ... as minsc will say you "need a bigger sword" just think on that boss with 20 damage reduction and your 2 weapons hitting for 16-22 or so ...
  5. yo dont need lore, dont worry. I have my cypher with the full mechanics ... i think lore is best in the rogue than in the cypher since cypher already has his powers
  6. My Cypher is 19 3 19 9 18 10 Wood elf, with the +1 Might origin. If you want to min max, dont be afraid of droppin the stats you will not need. the same is ok with wizzard. For a Paladin ... it changes .. if i was going for pure damage output ill go 21 10 18 10 9 10 amauma with +1 might you can change the last 3 stats as you see fit if you want more area for the aura ... more Ac more HP .... If you are going tank ... just put max ponts on con, perception and resolve XD
  7. The temple of Ethos is really hard , you should not go at low lvl since the monsters have a really hight Deflection, making hitting them really really hard My advice after a lot of hours of playing is .. let it for lvl 4-5 at least. You have a lot of easier things to do.
  8. this seam overpowered .. i am lvl 12 already and the lvl 3 chants ... are so strong ... +25 damage to all hits .. at lvl2 x2 reloading speed ... and the 50 fire damage one ... ahh and since you use 4 1 for the +10 deflection one .. Its just crazy, dont forget to get the +20% fire damage talent xD
  9. I think the stronghold one sells them .. but usualy getting the sleep bonus is more usefull.
  10. You need 1 with full mecanics.. I have all my chars at lvl 3 stealth and lvl 3 atletics(at least) so they dont have to rest so much after traveling ... In combat lore is the most usefull one. alowing you to use spells from scrolls. you can get an armor scroll in your tank .. a revival scroll in your chanter ... ect

  12. get Mental Binding and Mind Blades, those are the ones i found more ussefull. Puppet Master is good if you can take a boss or something really powerfull , but usually mental binding is better (faster cast) at hight level get Amplified Wave for damage. I found that Soul Ignition is quite bad, couse it targets fortitude, and the biggest monsters (who usually are the only ones that deserve a 1 target damage spell ) have really hight fortitude saves. About builds my cypher is a wood elf with 19 3 19 9 18 10
  13. The problem could be your party or the way you confront those 3-4 encounters. If your unarmored caster are hitted often they will need to rest every fight ... Warriors, Paladins and Chanters have a lot of health, and with a good armor they take quite little damage. If you need help you can pm me. you can also look for sensuki videos in youtube http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLDoful0qkygJxzwo7UC-gQ he splains a lot of things ... I play in hard and usualy dont rest until my party start to cry couse they traveled for 4 days .. xD. (But those mind control monsters and the teleporting ones ... and the druids .. those make me rest really often xD)
  14. The bonus area from int (the yellow one), does not hit your companions, also some spells are foe area. that helps a lot
  15. In this game wizards are not uselles without spells. they have a "area damage spell" that can be cast 2 times per fight, so you can always use that. At the same time, with the right talents your wand attacks are great (area damage, perforing defenses ...) so thats almost like a automatic spell. And , if you read the manual, you will se that a hight level their lvl 1 and 2 spells become per encounter. If you want to cast your spells without a day limit you can take a cypher, but they have a "per encounter limit" . The thing about wizards is that hard fight were you can unleash your full spell book. While cyphers can cast 1-2 spells and then hope for getting some focus back.
  16. I use a gun for my main char(cypher) but not the others .. reload time and - accuracy is big against hight ac. It changes from char to char. Even some times some weapon thats not of the best tipe is best couse its enchantment so ... For example, tanks should be better with hachets but i use a flail on mine couse it gives 20% damage drained as stamina ...
  17. Paladins are great at tanking, had lot of hp, but you need to build them for tanking, and paladins are great at dealing damage, but the same, you wont have a paladin great at both things. I use Palledina (il probably write it wrong), with a 2 handed sword, with the burn effect, talents (+20% damage with burn, +15% damage with two handed .. the focus .. the skill that hits with +100% fire damage, the bonus efects on enemy kill .. ) i also use items that give me per rest skills that retaliate with fire on being hit .. that hits about 30-50 or so per hit ... its not low, and i even go with full plate armor, she does enought damage. (My main does terrifing amounts of damage yes, but she falls in 1 hit= Still its not an optimized char, and she can take a lot of hits so ...in the end, like a d&d Paladin, good damage with good survavility. PD: if you add at hight level the chant that gives +25 damage in fire is just crazy ... Optimized One: (without using the modal of extra damage)
  18. Playing in hard. With a cypher. If you dont go to overleveled areas is ok, just make sure to get a tank in the party as soon as you can.
  19. Wizzard spells are stronger, and, at hight level the spell become 4 per encounter. So .. i will say that wizard is great in hard fights. the good thing about cyper is that you fight full power all time . Just think that in that hard fight, when you are having a hard time hitting with weapons you almost cant get focus, and you cast 2-3 skills. but the wizzard can unleash all their spellbook. Its not better or worse, just situacional.
  20. Indeed the Revive the fallen spell works correctly, it must be just the scroll.
  21. as the title sais, casted it with 3 party members ko, "kana(Scroll of Revival): 9 Hits" , tested cliking in char and out of it, no one revived. PD: I'll test the spell without scroll
