  1. I'm hoping that what's been shared is only like a tiny snippet of the real deal. I'd like to see a solid 1-2 hr film out of this with interviews from the team, a couple time lapse video's crunching deadlines. Maybe a inside look at a difficult situation they had to overcome and adapt to, etc. I did read elsewhere they did film at least one day during the recording of the score, so that's cool. I'm very happy with how this is going so far. And last I checked as of the 8th of April, steam has sold over 296,000 unit's. Just on steam, so the game should be a big success.
  2. Oh man, I almost cried watching you try to navigate the ui. You were supposed to choose next under the male or female option to choose your race and culture. You may want to redo that off screen and start again. Looks great though, thanks for sharing.
  3. Well, the player voice sets that were "professionally" done are pretty bad. There's maybe one decent one, and one more that's good enough. Plus Aloth sounds racially confused. He keeps jumping between Noble Elven Wizard and Anx infused Dwarven berserker. His lines are all over the map. Not impressed with his VO at all. Some of the others in game are ok, some would better silent as well.
  4. agreed, it's very poorly implemented & makes it a chore to use. Especially if anyone else like me has a stupid long load time as I progress. It used to be bearable, but now I could cook a cup o noodles waiting for some screens.
  5. Question regarding that fight. I had been playing on hard, and restarted a game on normal post 1.03. Did the Watcher ever have a skill that he could heal himself for a substantial amount? I found his fight to be much more challenging this time around even on normal because he kept healing himself in the fight and I couldn't figure out if it was a spell or if he was bugged. At least 3 times I got him down to 1-2 bubbles and he'd heal all the way back fairly quickly too. But it looked like he was casting wizard spells, so maybe he was also using that endurance spell. I should have checked the log. I just know he used it what seemed like at least 4 times that fight.
  6. can you explain why do you prefer to give more points in resolve vs p? Doesn't that extra + to interrupt keep you from getting pummeled from groups of baddies, and the extra reflex and deflection assist you? I'm currently experimenting on my monk, but maybe one of my issues with mine was I couldn't find a happy medium for gaining wounds. I either wasn't getting wounds, or i didn't have enough health and i'd get killed in 2 hits. But I'm currently playing with 3 monks trying them out. I didn't know which talents to get so I missed a the 2 hand style since it didn't clarify fists fit into that, but I'm only level 4. I'll give this a try. You said you completed the game on hard right? I'm going to try this on my orlan who gain's extra crits to some hits when attacking same target as a buddy. That should also add more dps.
  7. thanks! I also just noticed at certain levels you gain talents that give you like +15% to thing's like reflex so if you're thinking of wasting 5 points for that, there's a simple skill you can get later. I wish stuff like that we could see before we unlocked it so we could plan a bit more. Some stuff you'd want to get sooner than later I'm sure.
  8. I heard a dev on another board say if they got 250k or more they'd be a success. Looks like that happened
  9. well that sucks, I didn't even get to talk to her. As soon as I returned after burying it they attacked me at the door. I also had the descriptions turned off so I didn't know what was honest or whatever. I think what triggered her rage was I actually picked the lock in the chest in that room before I took the quest, but it wasn't red that I saw so I didn't think anything of it. Where is the Archive? Is it that room in the corner with the desk and chest? What's the reward for that quest? Not sure if it's worth restarting over. As it is now, I can't enter that building without losing a retarded amount of rep in the defiance bay.
  10. I've noticed a few items that allow +1 to resolve and perception, or +2 to intellect for example. I've also seen you can enchant +1 or +2 to thing's like con. What would be the highest amount I could stack a single stat if I wanted to craft a set of clothes if I wanted to concentrate on might for example? It doesn't have to be clothes, but just theoretically the most we could benefit from? I believe the manual goes up to 30. Also, I've been told that the builds don't really matter and I suspect it's because those guys who've already beaten the game have found similar gear that gives high stat perc's. I'm trying to figure out if I should try and enchant my own stuff as soon as I can, or hold out till later and either buy it from a shop or find it in game. Also, are the thing's in the shop's better than looted stuff?
  11. had the same thing with 2 grimoires on paligina to trade to aloth, and when I brought them back into the party the grimoires were missing. Luckily, I know I had them before I swapped out so I reloaded the last save, and traded the items so they were on a member not being swapped out, and that saved me.
  12. I stole something in the chest but wasn't caught, but no one turned angry on me until I returned like the OP. In fact, I'm pretty sure I stole the item in the chest before I got the quest. But yeah bugged for me too. No way to reset it, and I lost a ton of reputation unintentionally in the bay. How do we know who's good or bad? It's like they forced you to fail on this quest. You automatically have to fight as soon as ya enter, can't leave, and are forced to defend yourself. The best I can do is elect not to go into that building to avoid losing rep i guess.
  13. I spent all 2k+ of my $ trying to find a viable build and I'm considering starting over. I've only just got to. Defiance bay so I'm sure there's gonna be quests to do but I don't know if I want to just make a custom party from scratch or use the game's npcs. Is there anything special that I'm gonna shoot myself in the foot for passing up on any companions, or can I still access most of the content without them? Maybe I'll try to earn more money and stash them at the stronghold then go back later and do their quest?
  14. oh, he was wielding a hatchet... but I noticed you could equip 2 hatchets for a bigger deflection increase...? EDIT: Aha, I think I know what happened. The new guy was equipped with both a ring of minor deflection +5 and a cloak of minor deflection +5. I was getting confused because I was getting benefits from wielding one or two hatchets that stacked with one item equipped, but the ring and cloak were not giving their bonuses together which I assumed would. Maybe not a bug, but it seems buggy.
  15. Description: I created a new hero from the inn, I was testing out how some equipment boosted their stats and I noticed a cloak that supposed to give +5 to deflection wasn't being applied. I tried putting it back on the original hero I had the item on and it also didn't change their stats when I swapped it out. When I put it on another party member who was not wearing the equipment at all, it did change as intended. EDIT: Actually after reloading the saved game the original character with the equipment on it did have the proper effect, but the new guy still doesn't work right. Steps to Reproduce the Issue: Created a monk orlan (non bearded one) level 2 (not sure if that matters) remove cloak that gives +5 to deflection from previously created hired monk and place it on the new hired monk. You can place the cloak on other characters and it will function correctly, (increase deflection +5) however that item doesn't change the new monks stats, although other items that I equipped do change on him. I believe i had tried equipping hatchet(s) and those worked, but just not the cloak +5 to deflection. Screenshots https://www.dropbox.com/s/an2ht7edrg70azn/Screenshot%202015-04-04%2001.50.46.png?dl=0 I think you can scroll through the images in the folder, or just click on the link below with the screenshots and saved file. Important Files: Note, I have no idea how to find out which saved file is which. I don't even know how to delete old files without deleting the wrong one. I REALLY wish you could name them some how because the best I can do is see the time I saved it, but that's useless unless I just did it because I won't recall some file that's been there for days. Especially if there's multiple saves that day. I've attached what I think is the file of the bug. 16. From what I've gathered there's no real benefit from going unarmed. If you were unarmed with one hand and another weapon in the other I think you'd be better off because the bigger shields give such a poor debuff for accuracy on top of kinda poor to average accuracy with stuff on your hand. Plus, you can enchant weapons and can't enchant fists. There's one higher lvl monk skill that adds decent damage and accuracy, but I don't know how it would work with shield. Maybe at the least it would negatw the accuracy penalty?
  17. I made an orlan monk with high dex and I think the skill under dex, and should have done high might because the orlan racial gives him extra crits when attacking same enemies. Though im so surprised how well he does vs the other monk I hired that's fire godlike max dex and might. Both are only lvl 2-3 so I haven't got some of the higher skills, but I expected the fire monk to be way better and it's not, even though she basically has same stats as my guy a lvl higher, she's too dang squishy even with dr7 armor.
  18. yes I have found a set of dyrwood clothing. Not exactly sure where, but I've not made it to Defiance bay yet. I think I found it in a crate or a dude on the ground, but can't remember which map. I also haven't done any of cad nua and my party is lvl 4. If that helps you. EDIT: I actually don't know which one I have, I only saw one in my inventory. I'll get back to you if it's that one.
  19. Holy butts, that was a chore but I figured it out! Now I can start accessing all the audio stuff for modding sound sets too.
  20. that would be nice, I'd prefer some gibberish word like dookie brown, instead of s**** as an example. If you want to include a more natural alternative that takes the context into play that's ok too. I was taught Bastard was a bad word growing up, but there's appropriate context for that. using the F word 35+ times or another word 100+ times is just lazy writing. Shoot even if it was ***** instead of a word, I know what ***** is, or I can fill in the blank.
  21. I was trying to find this on my mac and it's nigh impossible. stupid mac
  22. I could tell you what you want to know, but it might take the fun out of the game for you. The answer to your Q is "Yes."
  23. woohoo, we're over 41k currently. I'm curious to know how many are on gog!? For Reference: https://steamdb.info/app/291650/graphs/
  24. I don't know for certain, but have you already gone to the stronghold? I suspect you haven't triggered something yet. i've not been there yet myself so i'm guessing. EDIT: from the guide, "To enhance a weapon, you must have the appropriate ingredients in your inventory. These materials may be bought, gathered, looted, or salvaged. During the process, the ingredients are typically used up, but sometimes they are reusable. For recipes like enchantments, the main ingredient is not used up, but is instead improved by the addition of a new bonus. All enchanting is done using three ingredients: a creature part, a plant/herb, and a gem. The counts of each ingredient may vary, but there are always three ingredients. Additionally, there may be a copper cost that’s subtracted directly from your total wealth. Each enhancement has an associated “cost” value. This is used in the crafting system and when calculating the value of an item in copper pieces (cp). Cost values on mods are added together to derive the cp total and the value does not scale linearly.Enchanting a weapon can provide a bonus in quality, secondary damage, and slaying capabilities. Each of these has it own advantages and, when combined, it can transform an already good weapon into something quite awesome. Note that a weapon has a limit on mods and can have no more than 1 quality mod, 3 additional mods, and 12 total points of mods."
