  1. There are two loot spots in the Orge "nest", one blue and one purple. I can't interact with any of them at range, and I can't interact with the purple one at all. The blue one I can access by standing on top of it(Only then does the pickup gauntlet pop up), but this does not happen with the purple one. Purple implies it's a secret, but it does not require scouting to uncover. Has anyone been able to access it? Anybody know what it is? Is it a bug, maybe?
  2. If they sticky 5-6 threads up top, there's less room for active conversations below on page 1.
  3. Not sure how you're playing the game, but if you engage an enemy with your Rogue or Wizard from behind the front line, Beetles, Wolves, Lions, and Spiderlings will rush straight through your front line and be all over your Rogue or Wizard in a second or two. Unless you make use of the engagement mechanic, that is. Even then, Lions and Wolves have abilities that let them rush straight through, and Stone Beetles can burrow. They will attack whoever enters their FOV first, or whoever attacks them first, so if you're charging in with your fighter(s) they're not going to try charging through your front line, they'll just go straight for your fighters.
  4. It's a developer! Quick, catch him before he gets away!
  5. Yeah, that's what they said in the videos, but my guy keeps running around my frontline to attack face-to-face.
  6. Aren't you supposed to be able to attack from a distance with spears? Because my guys sure as hell don't attack from a distance with spears.
  7. It has basic RPG elements, but it also has aRPG elements galore on top of that. It plays nothing like the IE games, or older stuff like Daggerfall, Betrayal at Krondor, and the like. It has randomly generated loot, boss fight mobs, level-by-items, linear world progression(Even though it promotes itself as open world, progression is dictated by area enemy levels), combat focused on recharging abilities, ability leveling, loot focused gameplay, non-relevant narrative, etc. Which is what all the people arguing for Kill-XP don't seem to get.
  8. Those games aren't even close to old school RPGs. D:OS is a slow aRPG, and Blackguards is... something.
  9. The should all be re-sizable and modular. Want your portraits on the right side of the screen? Just move them there. Get some nice borders and an expandable background(For solid UI), and you're good to go.
  10. Your link is broken, cilantroll. You're a disgrace to your entire family.
  11. Just stop responding to Mrakvampire, Stun, Volourn, Helm, Immortalis, Msxyz, SergioCQH, and Sarex. They just keep repeating the same stuff over and over, and are simply hellbent on hating the game no matter what.
  12. I'm not really comfortable with attribute bonuses for race and culture at all. It's not a really big deal, but it always ends up with players picking races because they want the stat bonus. In IE games you don't make an archer character and not pick elf. It makes the race choice irrelevant, and could just as easily be traded out with a few more attribute points for the same effect. Race and culture effects should be in the character's interaction with the world, not attributes.
  13. Do you need a hug, Helm? Sounds like you need a hug.
  14. Sergio, you should have no problems finding enough loot to buy your new boots. I think the Medreth encounter alone might actually get you there.
  15. Master ---> Effects ---> Ambient ---> Music ---> Voice ---> This is what is needed.
  16. Maybe it's an honest observation of your character, Helm? But no, it couldn't be that! After all, you are perfect.
  17. Let's just agree to have only potato farming XP instead. Problem solved.
  18. You can't change them simply by switching around portrait file names. Is it a tough work around? PEs portraits are pretty bad so I'll probably be changing the companions once I decide on a "final" party. It seems that the BB characters have their portraits bundled in with their character file, so you'd have to edit those. The companion files are in this folder: \Steam\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity - Public Beta\PillarsOfEternity_Data\assetbundles\prefabs\objectbundle companion_bb_fighter.unity3d companion_bb_priest.unity3d companion_bb_rogue.unity3d companion_bb_wizard.unity3d I have no experience with that kind of stuff, so I can't help any further than that.

  20. I've resized and cropped the original Icewind Dale portraits so they work with Pillars of Eternity. The small versions focus on the face from the larger version. Here's an album for preview and download. Simply scroll to the bottom of the screen, click the "..." next to social media icons, and click "Download Post". The portraits go into this directory:
  21. It is no more or less complicated than the IE DnD system. It's just unfamiliar, and we don't have a manual or anything. It'll be easier once everything is set in stone and a manual can be provided.
  22. Strangely, I find some encounters to be easier on Normal difficulty than on Easy. Especially the Beetles are easier on Normal.
  23. ...And you don't know that he won't in PoE. A: These are generic BB characters. B: Giving companions a leg up over created characters makes them more appealing than just creating the whole party yourself. C: Why is this even an issue?
