  1. Mind, the information comes from Israel, which has no good track record with truth and comes conveniently right after the court ordered them to let aid in. A certain level of involvement between any aid agency and local groups in any position of authority is always given. You can't distribute aid without the authorities being aware. So obviously UNWRA will have had dealings with Hamas. But that this suddenly means UN personnel were involved in the assault is a stretch. Israel made up a story of beheaded babies. They made up a story of Holocaust survivors killed in the attack. They made up a story of families burned alive. They made up numbers. And now that Israeli journalists are disproving one story after another and are raising questions about the Hannibal directive, Israel suddenly has information about UN staff having participated in the 7 October attack, to change the narrative and ensure people will starve to death. If they had information, they had it for months and didn't reveal it? Pull the other one, it has bells on it. It is also interesting how people keep saying "over 1200" when the IDF has revised a while ago the number to below 1200. (1173 if I remember correctly, which is still near enough to say 1200 for ease, but not "over")
  2. https://www.paradoxinteractive.com/games/vampire-the-masquerade-bloodlines-2/news/visceral-immersive-combat Gameplay trailer due in January. But it is the 28th, there isn't much January left! Eh, it's Bloodlines 2, dates are just a construct.
  3. Also, note this day on the calendar, but I have to admit: Bruce was right and I was wrong. He said the judges would not be swayed by their national allegiance but solely on legal merits. I had serious doubts. In some instances, even the ad hoc judge from Israel voted with the majority. I did not see that coming. So yeah: I was wrong.
  4. They ordered Israel to prevent killing of members of the group. Prevent bodily and mental harm to members of the group. To order its military to not kill members of the group. To order it's military to not cause physical or mental harm to members of the group. The group = Palestinians in Gaza They don't even differentiate between civilians and combatants. They ordered Israel to completely cease killing people without leaving wiggle room of "it was a terrorist so it was ok".
  5. Actually, for a ceasefire to be ordered, there needs to be a formal war and two waring sides. At least many analysts say that, so apparently those of us who hoped for the words ceasefire simply didn't know we were hoping for something unattainable legally. The order to not kill members of the protected group though is a clear order that Israel must not kill any Palestinians. The US response, while "better" than the Israeli one, is still a ridiculous spin. Israel's accusation now that UN aid workers were part of the 7. October attack is preposterous. Blinken's statement that the US would now cut funds to the UN (specifically the UNRW or how it's spelled) so as to not provide aid to starving Palestinians, just demonstrates that the Biden administration is pure evil.
  6. Yeah, a bed trumps a couch. As others said, the better the mattress, the better. Just don't go broke over one
  7. Not the verdict. That will come in years if ever. But the preliminary measures have no teeth if there is a ceasefire. The ICJ can hardly order Israel to stop bombing, if it has a ceasefire and isn't bombing.
  8. Went to a fashion expo. Looked at all the things Greek islands will try to sell to tourists this year. As one exhibitor said "nothing new, just a few new colours." Got depressed, seeing how cheap things are compared to the Forkcat designer handbags I am working on. Absolutely stressing out with the new business venture: Have printed textiles with my art and we made handmade (luxury) designer handbags. But they cost a lot to make, so they cost a lot to buy. And I am not from those circles really that spend 250-300€ on a handbag, so it seems crazy. At the same time, I used to play Warhammer and Warhammer 40K
  9. I think Netanyahu has exactly that to gain. If he got the hostages released, then on the Homefront he can possibly get at least the families of the hostages to back off a bit. Or divide them at least. Have those families busy taking care of their freed and obviously traumatized relatives. Nurse them back to health - all of Gaza is starving, obviously the hostages are too. At the same time, what preliminary measures could the ICJ impose when there is a ceasefire? He'd "win" the first round in the south Africa case by taking away what they seek measures against.* Then, two months later, with the ICJ case in the next, slow stage, he'd simply start the war again, with greater hone support, as there would be no fear of killing hostages, just land to grab for the settlers and "human animals" to exterminate. He'd just have to hang on for two months by bombing Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan and keeping things heated with Hesbolah (spelling?). Mind you, just theorising. * I do believe the ICJ would have loved a ceasefire, to get them out of having to rule on preliminary measures. Which also is a reason for Hamas Not to want one.
  10. For obvious reasons, this giveaway has to be announced by me: www.gog.com/?smclient=25625981-e635-4c7c-a1a8-d4da17bcf892#giveaway It is Mordheim.
  11. Netanyahu 's position isn't "we won't stop until the hostages are released" if his position also is "if the hostages are released we won't stop". I want a full permanent ceasefire (and obviously Netanyahu jailed in Azkaban). But you can't have a full ceasefire when one party says they are not willing to accept a full ceasefire. Hostages returned for a full ceasefire was on the table until now, constantly rejected by Israel. So stop trying to make it look as if the rest of us are against a ceasefire and look at the terrorists you so vehemently support with your crocodile tears.
  12. I think the "release all hostages for a non permanent ceasefire" idea is terrible and intended to force Hamas to reject it. In essence it says "give up the tiny shred of leverage you have, and we'll pause before we continue bombing you into dust. We'll still kill everyone, but we'll have a break before continuing." My response too would then be "Err, no?"
  13. Huh, I always simply killed them and when the guards came running, showed them the writ. "Officer, I am licensed to kill." And the guards would be all "Oh, sorry to bother you. Please be more discreet next time."
  14. It may be worth looking into a mattress topper. They are basically a thin mattress you put on top of the existing one. They are a lot cheaper but can make a huge difference. Got those for the hotel when older guests needed it a bit more comfortable. ended up just leaving them on. Guests who tried both without and then with the topper said they are amazing. Mind you, I didn't get the cheap ones for 27 euros. More like 250. But if you put those on a 1500 mattress and turn it into the feeling of a 2500 mattress, then it is still a good alternative to a 4500 one. Of course nothing will make you feel like sleeping in dough other than that 4500 one or sleeping in actual dough.
  15. "Here. Is portal. Take her to place romantic without grandfather interrupting." (Last comment while pointedly ignoring Captain America)
  16. Book club is so awkward. Only way it could have become more awkward would have been Magic joining. She'd probably stop the meeting half way through with a comment about the awkwardness being pathetic, go ask her out.
  17. Uninstalled Starship Troopers - Terran Command. The story is fun enough and they tried to keep the gameplay fresh for as long as they could. Towards the end of the campaign they just go with endlessly spawning waves of enemies though, which does make sense for the bugs, but gets tedious and unfun. Especially as it spawns waves on top of whatever the bugs spawn through their nests anyway. When the enemy respawns all their best units every 60 seconds in larger numbers than you have troop capacity, eh, whatever, my mistake for buying your game, but nobody is forcing me to play it. Reduced it to lowest difficulty, but it doesn't change that the mission is just terribly designed. And with a handful of missions to go, I have no interested what crap they have in store for those. It doesn't help that the controls are pretty bad. Game went from "Hey this is fun, you should play it!" to "Don't waste your money and time..." in the period of a couple of missions.
  18. Cade has 7.3 on imdb. Seems he is an acquired taste people now are starting to acquire
  19. I started Swansong the other day, but I was tired so I immediately quit again. The werewolf games are very different from one another. Heart of the Forest is a VN. A good VN and a great introduction to the setting. Earthblood is an action game, in which you rip people's spines out. I was very positively surprised by Earthblood though. It has one choice that matters at the end, to lead to one of two endings I guess, but generally it tells a dark WOD story and explores the setting far better than the trailers would make you believe.
  20. @Hawke64 did you play Coteries of new York first? Shadows is the sequel. It has two endings because coteries had only one, regardless of what you did, and people complained. Coteries was better and the terrible ending made sense lore wise even if it was very unsatisfying. But in general you get more fun out of werewolf heart of darkness. Again it is a short VN and at some point during the second play through you realise again that your choice matter very little. But it is just well done. The first play through is great. If you can stand a VN.
  21. Chance for a ratling sniper wasted.
