@LadyCrimsonI assume they make them in all varieties, including my beloved Cherry MX Brown with the nice soft tactile bump but no clicky clicky sound.

The New Drinking Thread
After a looong day's work I stopped at a different and larger ABC Spirits that was only a little out of the way while going home. They did indeed have Lagavulin, but only the 16 year old variety and... I'm not about to spend THAT much on a bottle of booze. For a special occasion, sure, but not on a random Friday. I decided instead to take the smoky and peaty characteristics and push the dials to maximum, so I got a bottle of Laphroaig instead, which conveniently came with 2 lovely dram glasses. The side benefit of being a Laphroaig drinker is that I can feign being sharing and generous without having to actually share any of my precious goodness that I lovingly refer to as "drinking a tire fire". Whenever I offer Laphroaig to people they typically make a disgusted face and decline, all according to plan. The one exception is my dad, who is one of the only other people that likes Laphroaig that I know. I'll happily share with my dad, though.

AFAIK they're still making another Tomb Raider game, which is great because they were on a good trajectory. I very much disliked the 2013 (kill Russians, lather, rinse, repeat) reboot, I liked Rise (holy crap, a puzzle or two that isn't insultingly easy!) and I really really liked Shadow (This one felt like a legit Tomb Raider game, they even had a couple of puzzles that took me some time to figure out). If they continue down that path then the 4th game will be downright amazing.

Sadly, my local ABC Spirits doesn't have Lagavulin (Shameful Display), the only Islay they have is Ardbeg.

Turns out businesses gonna do business things, which is to say be as cutthroat and greedy as they can get away with. The key is to have multiple businesses competing in the same sector to (somewhat) keep each other in check. This is why we need Intel to get their GPUs up to snuff soon.

Assuming this is accurate, I shudder to think about the price tag. With DLSS this might actually be the first viable 8K card, albeit 8K with compromises aplenty. I have no interest in 8K for the foreseeable future and I can already do 4K comfortably so I'll pass.

I'm contemplating getting a bottle of Lagavulin just so that I can tempt @ShadySands

@ShadySandsBecause I'm a terrible person I feel it is my duty to try to knock you off the wagon. Sadly, I don't have a peaty Islay to tempt you with and will have to settle for Speyside:

Funny Stuff: Which website did Chewbacca get arrested for creating? Wookieleaks!
I got all the references but only did 17/25 of those things. Side-note: I don't think I ever owned a flannel shirt. When I was younger I used to say "I don't wear flannel because I'm not a truck driver." Ironically, I am now a truck driver and I STILL don't wear flannel. Perhaps my new phrase should be "I don't wear flannel because I'm not Canadian"? On the other hand, I can't really criticize fashion choices when I regularly rock Hawaiian shirts.

NFL 2022-2023: The Bad Man is Gone
The good thing about how the Conference Championship games turned out is that I have zero interest in watching The Big Game and I can just do something else instead 2 Sundays from now. Go Chiefs, I guess.

Eventually the Niners were down to their 5th string QB.

We actually do get that, just not from AAA studios. Really good and reasonably priced games get released all the time, they come from AA and indie studios. I'll list some recent-ish examples: Neon White - $25 Hades - $25 Vampire Survivors - $5

ME2 was awesome, so that's a positive, ME3 and MEA, not so much.🤭 Regardless of what I think of his track record, having a production director leave in the middle of production is never a good thing. It's like switching a director in the middle of filming a movie. Movies where that happens more often than not wind up being a mess.

What are you Playing Now? It's not how you play the game, it's how you place the blame
I'm playing Control. I actually started playing this a long time ago, only got as far as the end of the intro, then stopped, not because of the game itself, other stuff came up and I just never got back to it until now. My feelings on the game so far very much mirror my overall feelings on Alan Wake, which makes sense given that not only are both games made by Remedy but Control is set in the Alan Wake universe, or Alan Wake is in the Control universe, whichever way you want to think about it. Anyway, the gameplay is... It's okay. It's a pretty bog standard third person shooter, maybe it gets more interesting later on when you unlock more abilities, but so far it's pretty ho-hum. However, I really really like the world and I'm very much invested in not just the story of Jesse Faden and her brother but also this world as a whole. I am happily going out of my way and scouring every nook and cranny for collectibles, not for completionist reasons, I don't care about achievements, but because I'm into the mythos of this world and I will gladly read all the text and listen to any and all audio logs if they help me get a clearer picture of said world. There's very much a SCP Foundation vibe going on and I'm all about that. My investment in the world and interest in the story are easily enough to carry me through mediocre gameplay and also have me excited for Alan Wake 2: The Wakening coming later this year. Edit: I should add that I'm weirdly enjoying the running commentary/narration that Jesse does during the game. It's something that potentially could get really grating really fast, and I suppose it still might, but so far I'm on board with it. Also, the Threshold Kids videos are really creepy and bizarre and I'm absolutely there for them.

I'm just not a fan of ketchup in general. I use it as part of the sauce for meatloaf and... ... ... I'm drawing a blank. I think that's it. I don't put it on hot dogs, I much prefer chili, mustard, relish, or, better yet, diced onions and pickles with a couple half slices of tomato *chef kiss*. I don't put it on fries, I mostly just put salt & pepper on fries, but if I do dip fries in something it's either a cheese sauce or tartar sauce.- NFL 2022-2023: The Bad Man is Gone
I'm hoping Aaron Rodgers goes to the Jets, then he can follow in the footsteps of Favre (hopefully minus the stealing money from people part) and wind up on the Vikings.🤣- Food Thread - Obsidian Gormand's Edition
Continuing my streak of cooking new things, I made Rouladen: Super delicious! The pickles and mustard work shockingly well. This is one of the best foods I've ever made. It's a 2+ hour job but so worth it.- Food Thread - Obsidian Gormand's Edition
Yeah, my meatballs have both nutmeg and allspice. My recipe is very similar to yours except all beef and I also added garlic (not a lot) and parsley to the balls and used flour instead of cornstarch for the sauce thickener. Also, I don't have a proper dutch oven, but I do have a 12" cast iron skillet with a cast iron lid that serves as a halfway decent dutch oven substitute. Side note: Cast iron is the greatest. No enamel, nothing fancy, just a big, heavy hunk of iron seasoned all the way around.- Food Thread - Obsidian Gormand's Edition
First attempt at Swedish meatballs, completely from scratch: So delicious!🤤 Eat your heart out, IKEA!- Random video game news... RNG says "Nope"
Undead pirate Commandos? Yes, please. Mimimi hasn't done me wrong yet. They've pretty much singlehandedly revived the real-time stealth tactics genre. - Food Thread - Obsidian Gormand's Edition
